SyncUP Kids changed to T-Life and now all I get with the new app is an error
I understand SyncUp Kids is no more. I installed the T-Life app on my phone as directed. I'm logged in and have the correct phone number showing up on my screen, but when I go to click next I am seeing "something went wrong. Please try again." I really NEED to see where my child is. This is because of a bus drop off in the afternoon and ensuring I am there on time for her sometimes early bus. That is the whole reason I bought the SyncUP watch. I purchased 5 SyncUp Kids watches for Christmas this year. Kids love them, but yesterday I had a second watch get stuck not getting past the loading screen. I'm not sure what led up to it, but the symptoms seem to appear out of nowhere. The watch doesn't respond to anything. The only thing you can do is hold the button for 20secs or so and it will buzz and hard-reset, then get to the loading screen and sequence the three pink dots on the bottom indefinitely. When the first watch did this I called 611. They seemed very unfamiliar with this product, and appear to have limited ability to troubleshoot anything. Apparently the only way to factory reset these watches is through the settings menu in the interface and in this case it can't get there. They had me go into a store and do a defect exchange (At first they wanted to charge me $5 to file manufacturer warranty and give me a refurbished watch, I refused and insisted on another option. Who charges $5 for a manufacturing defect?) Yesterday the second, of five, watches has the same symptoms as before. Stuck at the loading screen, the only thing I can do that gets any response is hard-reset by holding on the button. Having two of these cases now, within 2 months of new, I can't imagine I am unique but I can't find any record of people having issues, so I am here, trying to find solutions, and share my experience. Question 1- Is there a hidden way to factory reset these watches without accessing the settings menu? If not, why?! Question 2- Are other people having these same issues? Are my kids doing something to their watches they shouldn't be doing? What might it be? Both times this happened it was overnight, we know because that is when they go offline. I recently added the SyncUP & Drive device to my account - we are long-time T-Mobile customers and have not had any problems whatsoever besides this to date. My son was getting his license and I wanted to be able to monitor his driving. The SyncUP device worked like a charm for the first week or two, until the battery started dying nearly every night. This battery had been replaced less than 6 months prior, so there should not have been an issue. I was going on a trip, so I decided to let him drive my SUV while I was out of town since he was having problems with the battery and I wanted him in a more reliable vehicle. I also have a new battery in my vehicle, about one year old and also had my alternator replaced between 2-3 years ago. Well, when I was on my trip my battery started dying and then after a couple of days my son had the vehicle completely stall on him while driving. This device not only killed my battery, but my alternator! Fortunately, the batteries were both still under warranty but my alternator cost me a pretty penny. When I click to open the syncup app for the watch, I get a little pop up on the opening screen right before it crashes that says:all items core api failing. Started yesterday and still! Can't track without this app. Tried clearing data, cache, uninstalling app, reinstalling app, and no luck. What is going on? I'm seeing several others also complained yesterday of the same issue. Can tmobile provide an update, especially considering this is a feature for children's safety monitoring? I've had inconsistent reliability with tracking since getting this thing 12 months ago and locked down for another year with it. This wasn't what I agreed to as far as service and reliability. I am an employee of T-mobile. I purchased the sync up drive for my own personal use. During the 2nd week, it kept telling me that my battery was low, and failing. A couple of days later I had to have my alternator replaced which cost me $450.00. Since my issue, i have come across other customers that have returned this device.One customer said she was getting the same battery failing message. Another customer returned her device after she too,had to get her alternator replaced. By no means am I saying the sync up drive is causing this. But I am suggesting that there may be a correlation between these battery issues and the sync up drive device. Hello, Is anyone having issues with the SyncUp Kids Watch 1.5, that is a Sprint customer? I just got my watch today and when I go the app, I created a TMobile ID using my email. When I go to pair the watch, it says "Watch has wrong rate plan. Please contact Customer Care and let our team know your watch has an invalid rate plan." I have the Unlimited Watch Plan for $15/month. When I called Customer service they switched the plan to the other one, 500mb plan, and it still wasn't working. We've restarted the watch multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I spent hours on the phone with customer service as well the chat sessions. No one has been able to help. They say they have never had this issue, I know that this is the newer version of the watch. Hoping someone is able to help! I received my cell spot yesterday and plugged it in the way it says to and it seems to be working great. I now have full service where I had almost none before. However, trying to run any apps on my television today seems to be near impossible. They keep coming up with the fact that they are experiencing network issues or are extremely slow and continue to pause to buffer. That is not an issue I've ever had before, so I'm wondering if the cell spot could be interfering in some way with my internet service.
