Tmobile Internet Sagemcom experience
It has only been a week, but the T-mobile cellular internet using the Sagemcom FAST5688W gateway is working well. In my area there are a couple of cell towers within a mile, and so far they are not congested. If I place the box in a window, I can get 5 bars on the box display and up to 500Mbps for a wired connection. The WiFi covers the whole house at maybe 30Mbps depending on the room, enough for email, a zoom call or an HD stream, just not for multiple users. This actually better than the old network. The gateway has some serious limitations that restrict its use to only the simplest networks. The main limitation is you cannot bypass the gateway's internal router, so you will end up with a double-NAT situation if you have a router of your own. There is no official way to turn off the gateway WiFi, so it will interfere with any existing WiFi on your LAN. The best scenario is that you have no existing network, maybe just one or two wired devices, and are satisfied with the built-in WiFi. If only they would fix the two main issues they get many more customers. Once the box works, there is very little configuration possible, just the box password, and the WiFi name and password. Oh, and you can't change the box LAN IP. A side issue is you can't just plug in a cable and use a desktop browser for configuration like any other network device. You are stuck using the new MyLife phone app. The app eventually worked, but the initial setup is painful. The QR code on the box didn't bring up the correct link, and even the helpful tech agent said everyone was frustrated at how unready the process was. I suggest going to the store and setting up the box right there. I wish I had. For those waiting on the promotion rebates, I believe you need to use it for 6mo to qualify. If I manage to get it sooner, I'll post.tns1Hace 20 horasNetwork Novice66Visto0likes2ComentariosWell... that didn't last very long.
Well... that didn't last very long. After the botched G4SE patch, and needing a replacement (2 actually, 1st was DOA), the G4AR was patched from 1.00.02 to 1.00.09 (speed bump) to 1.00.12 (vpn killer) Speed typically 400-600Mbps on work device, now it has similar until i hit vpn, and watch it max to 5Mbps. When i switch to Spectrum, its 112/11 and with VPN there's effectively no change.formercanuckHace 2 díasSpectrum Specialist64Visto0likes0ComentariosDelete Wi-Fi network on 5G Gateway
I have T-mobile's home internet with their 5G Gateway. I am unable to delete the wifi network, as it says at least 1 network is required. I have my own router connected to it as I have multiple devices physically wired to my router. The issue is that due to the gateway and router being very close to each other, the gateway's wifi is causing interference to the router's network being broadcast and thus causing lower speeds. I with T-mobile would just let advanced users delete the default network. Anyone have a workaround for this?vishnumraoHace 2 díasNetwork Novice74Visto0likes0ComentariosIssue Connecting Smart Vacuum Cleaner to Home Internet
Having issues connecting my vacuum cleaner to my tmobile home internet. Have 2 of them and both attempt to connect but after finding the network on the vacuum app and enter the password, it seems to get stuck while attempting to connect. I have 2 Vaccumes, a Coredy and an IRobot (Roomba). Both can only connect to a 2.4Ghz network ans poth won't work with WP3 so basically only WPA2 or WPA. I have setup on the router both settings, 2.4Ghz and WPA2 but I'm still unable to get them to work. Seems weird because all of my other Smart devices, and I have plenty and different brands connect perfectly fine but not the vacuums. I believe it's an admin configuration on the router software but I can't find a way to access it. If anyone has tips for this issue please send me a note. T-Mobile nagged me to use the new T-Life app for managing my TMHI 5G Gateway. So I did. I set it up a few days ago and it was working fine. I'm using both together with the old app. The problem is the new app now doesn't work. After a power outage, we got things back up and running. The Gateway is connected to the internet, all devices connected to it, it is speed testing at ~400Mbps, and is working fine. The old T-Mobile Internet App correctly shows it is connected with a good connection. But the new T-Life app says our 5G Gateway is "Offline." That's wrong. It's very much online and working. Seems T-Mobile released this app before it was ready for prime-time. I don't really have a problem with this situation. I'm just noting it here because T-Mobile doesn't provide another way to give this feedback. I'm not going to use the new app until I absolutely have to. T-Mobile better get the new app right and working correctly before they retire the old one and make me use it.JeffHace 3 díasNewbie Caller65Visto2likes0ComentariosUnblock an blocked device

I've been having an issue with YouTube throwing errors at me for the past couple of weeks. I turned off IPv6 on my desktop adapter settings and the error has gone away. The error still happens on my phone when connected to T-Mobile home internet. Is there a way to turn off IPv6 in the router? Because that option isn't available on Android.MWagonerHace 5 díasNetwork Novice87Visto0likes1Comentario
