How to use @tmomail.net via gmail? I am not getting Email to SMS on my phone, even though SMS to Email works
I'm trying to get SMS to Email to work so that I can get text messages for specific emails. I have successfully sent an email to myself through the SMS service and I can plainly see my +1XXXYYYZZZZ@tmomail.net address as the sender. When I reply to that email, I do not receive a text message.
Can anyone help with this?

This article explains what is happening, and even says “The e-mail to text gateway is a legacy system that may eventually be decommissioned in the future.”
It also says “Hay una variedad de compañías respetadas independientes que ofrecen servicios de mensajería en la vía sancionada que quizás puedan ayudarte. We recommend you reach out to Kaleyra, Infobip, Sinch, Vibes Media, Twilio, or Cisco directly.”
What it doesn't say, is that as far as I can tell, each one of these services is accessed via a (programmatic) API or a web interface. There is not an email-to-text interface available.
So, if your messages are generated by your home security, or other system, then the developers of those systems need to add capabilities to utilize the “paths” that T Mobile accepts.
It will not be simple to switch.
Actually, there is a simple solution. Use the $5 app, Pushover, to send notifications to your phone. Search ipcamtalk.com and you'll find detailed explanations of what to do.

My guess is that work e-mails are much less common for spam versus Gmail and other free e-mail services that are usually a large contributor to the amount of spam that spreads around the internet.

Hey there. Email to text is specifically for low traffic, person-to-person messages. There are strict spam filters so messages coming from emails that include info, admin, alert, auto, and other words indicating automated messages will not go through. The way that it is designed to work is you can create an email using your personal email account and in the to field put in yournumber@tmomail.net. Keep the message short since the file size limit is also pretty low. When you send, you will see the message on your phone as a text message.
Hope this helps!
@HeavenM honestly, this isn't very helpful. Something is wrong but can't tell if it's T Mobile or Google. I sent a test email from my work email to my tmomail and it went through. But my original test from my Gmail to my tmomail never came through.
Hmm. It is odd that the work email was successful, but the Gmail didn't show up. Did you get any kind of send or delivery failure message back to your Gmail? Are you using the same email address that you used to register for this Community or a different email? Was the email sent out as plain HTML? Were any words from my list that you quoted within the email? How long was the message that you tried to send?

Now my sms all working as I typing..😂. Very frustrated

I appreciate you sharing the full error message. The reason that the messages are not going through is because of the automated nature of the message.
Nuestra Consumer versus Non-Consumer Text Messaging T-Mobile Support page explains:
Automated messages sent from or about your home cam are non-consumer messages because they are not a person typing something and hitting send, but a bot system generating the message. You will need to find another way to get those messages like sending them to a new email address that you sign into your phone or see if the home camera has a setting for text notifications.

Hola @kb6mcc email to text is a common topic among the Community. Not sure if you saw my post above about how the email to text service is supposed to work. I also provided a more detailed explanation of the filter parameters on another thread.

I wanted to check in with you about the specifics for your situation. What kind of messages are you trying to send? Have you been able to send messages like this in the past? If so, when did your ongoing problem start?
Just a simple text from the GM to my xxx@tmomail.net. It works randomly..and the TM tech support is useless even I on the phone with them over 3 hours on the issues.
When it working, I will get sms text from Yahoo mail or GM. When the problem rise, I will received nothing or receiving after x days or x hours later.
Below is the sample of the email to my phone.

Do a search of the forum for many threads about this. In some cases, it still works. It just ultimately depends on what you are trying to send.
