Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S23 plus IMEI error
I preordered the unlocked S23+ from Samsung and received it yesterday. When I tried to activate it online, it gave me an IMEI error. I called into support and the tech tried to help me activate it and he also got the IMEI error. He said I probably have to wait till the official release date on Feb. 17th to activate it. Is this true that I cannot activate the S23+ before the official release date?

This issue resolved itself. It turns out I do have to wait till the release date to switch to the new phone on the existing line. I upgraded from S20 to the S23+ and the online activation when smoothly without the IMEI error this time. Took the SIM from the S20 and put in in the S23+ and it was good to go within minutes.

I remember seeing that happen to someone in another thread. Even when you get it from T-Mobile, you get an activate your ESIM for.you new device now e-mail from T-Mobile as soon as your order is placed.

I used my physical SIM in my s23 Ultra when it arrived last Friday from T-Mobile. I had the chance to activate it via eSIM but I prefer pSIM. The device shows up and is identified correctly in our account.
