what's up with T-mobile removing autopay discount for credit cards?
I just literally signed up for a new plan - debit cards have fees for providers too - accessing my bank account isn’t a good approach from a security perspective (noting that T-mobile has been hacked - i wouldn’t have shared this directly with T-mobile customer service but there is not email or chat and I don’t have time for phone calls

That was announced months ago. It is because credit card companies charge a service charge that is based on the percentage of every transaction, which eats into T-Mobile's revenue. Removing the auto pay discount for credit cards negates that.

This is terrible. I feel discriminated, I do not have a bank account and I am not open to have a debit card at all, I use my available cash for food and medicines only, the rest I pay with credit card, I was offered the discount for enrolling/using my card in autopay and I agreed to that deal years ago, I have not broken my autopay agreement, this should not be taken away. I have had my account for decades and have never been late on any payments, have used my card with no issues. Plus, my credit card gives me insurance on my phones, Is T-Mobile going to give us all free insurance? I am scared to use a bank or any debit card with this hacking technology that we live in now days, it is also known that T-Mobile has had security breaches. This is illegal Please help. I don't know if the BBB or FCC or FTC or the CFPB can help us. forcing consumers into making personal financial changes is not acceptable.

T-Mobile is going to lose a lot of customers they are now behaving like the other carriers with subpar service I call bs on the team of experts because when I call 611 my call gets routed overseas and I can hardly understand the rep on the phone not to mention the data breaches they have had I hope someone gets really smart and bring a class action against them because they are reckless with your info and it's just flat out wrong. They want your bank info so the next data breach all of your money will disappear
What are some national carriers / plans where current T-Mobile customers can find a better price for the same or better quality of service?

Moved from Verizon because of lousy local service to this bunch of ridiculousness from TM!
Bills higher than we were quoted, no credit for my wifes TRADE IN and now this credit card crap. Our local store manager basically told us to go ahead and sue TM since they will not do anything to help.
NEVER, EVER, EVER give anyone your banking info, particularly one that has a track record that, and I'm being kind, is less than reliable! Leaving this company as soon as phone is paid off.
Another joke of a Cell company.

That is true. Security seems to be a joke with all of these companies as of late. Guess that means only options would be 1 and 2 since I will never give TM access to my primary checking account. The discount is not worth the security risk. I personally will be using option 2.
You don't have to. Keep paying with your credit card. There's stores out there that hit you with a surcharge when you uses a credit card or charges you a fee to get money back on a debit card.

Credit card fees are only 3%. This loss of discount is a major money grab. Considering how frequently TMobile gets hacked it would be crazy to link a bank or debit card to the account. Remember, there are no safeguards automatically in place for fraud using a debit card like there is for a credit card. I really don't want someone to drain my banking accounts.
Verizon will only let you use their credit card. ATT will accept any credit card.
Verizon and AT&T got hacked recently also. Credit card fees vary depending on the company used to process them.

You seem very informed and in favor of T-mobile like you are their bot.
Please tell me any credit card fee more then 4% or $3.
Not a bot I posted about this 4 months ago with my opinion. Now I've had time to think about it and with a tax exempt plan and couldn't switch without paying more money.

All I said is credit cards vary. The company I use for work is Paytrace and it's 3 percent.

I have been with T-Mobile for over 6 years paying with a credit card for security. T-Mobile has been hacked several times and I DO not want to have my bank account info in their system. I called to challenge this change in service and was told "T-Mobile made this change because it is safer to pay by your debit card or your bank account." Huh? EVERY security site says NEVER use debit cards online. Ever. I have four phones on my account and just added their internet service. T-Mobile will not "save" 25.00 in credit card transaction fees. That would be about 13% - not 3%. It is just a way to charge more for people who can’t pay every month consistently with their checking account and use credit for that reason. That is not my problem. I have been very happy with T-Mobile the past 6 years, but this is a sign I need to look elsewhere.
that IS your problem though..if you lack the funds at times to pay and need to use another method in order to pay your bill.

$5.00 at 3% = 15 cents. And this is not a new charge, T-Mobile has been paying that CC processing fee since inception of this program. I think there is something else going on.

If you're plan is $100 the cost to process it at 3% is $3. The $5 autopay fee discount isn't what's processed it the plan total.
