forgot voicemail password
I forgot my voicemail password. I taped a reminder on the back of the device and even know what it means but nothing I type works.
Thanks Gramps! That is the code for resetting the voicemail password. We also have one that allows you to turn off the voicemail password. Check out all of our self-service short codes here: Códigos cortos para autoservicio | Asistencia de T-Mobile

Try #793# in your dialer . It will reset it to the last 4 digits of your phone number.

Of course, using #793# sets the password to a value that anyone that knows your phone number can guess. It's bad security, and an inadequate substitute for resetting the password in your account settings interface, but the latter doesn't seem to exist, so what can you do?
After you reset to the last four most people then change it.

Worked for my Galaxy S8! This voicemail account hadn't been used in years. Dial #793# like it is a phone number. Took two tries but worked! Thank you so much!

Gramps, do you know if this will also work with a T-Mobile MVNO line?

Didn’t work on an iPhone SE, 1st generation.

It worked. I dialed the #793# code and I received a message with a new 8 digit PIN. Voicemail accepted it as my password.

How exactly do you reset your VM password with #793# if every time you hit #, less than 1/6th of a second it says "please enter your password, then press pound" ? It doesn't let you enter anything after hitting the pound key.
Or is there some other time you're supposed to enter #793# ? Because when I call my own number, the only options are (1) entering your password, or (2) hitting star, entering your phone number, and then back to entering your password (which if I haven't been clear, can't possibly start with a # because the system thinks that comes afterwards).
And for the record, 793 on it’s own won’t allow you to reset your password, and as I’ve already stated, you can’t enter anything after # because before you can enter 7, it either says “that is not a valid password” or “please enter your password”
Sorry for repeating myself quite so much, but I have a long history of people in help forums either ignoring most of what’s said, or offering advice along the lines of “get good scrub” or “you suck.”

As of typing this. Resetting the password can still be done by dialing #793#. To be specific though, you don't type #793# through voicemail. This is done before you call voicemail. Dial #793# and call, that should bring up a loading screen that says. "Your voice mail pin has been changed". The difference is that it doesn't reset to the last 4 of your phone number anymore. It generates a temporary pin which will be sent as a text message. You can now use that pin when you call voicemail. Hope this helps
