LG IMS has stopped
Could someone from T-Mobile support please respond to one of the questions about this topic with an update as to what we should to or when we can expect this to be fixed?
Hey everybody!
Great news!! LG was able to release new updates that fully resolve the recent "IMS stopped" pop up issues. The fix is pretty quick and can be found on our support site. Here is the link that you can follow to see how to install the needed updates. IMS de LG se detuvo | Asistencia de T-Mobile
In a few short clicks, those pesky popups will be a thing of the past.

Agree this is likely a T-Mobile fault. I also had made no changes in programs, etc. I followed the suggestions above and eliminated the problem on my LG V20 (though have not rebooted to see if permanent - just thankful to get rid of the error message). I waited over1.5 hrs to speak to LG help line as T-Mobile blew me away. T-Mobile is responsible for the equipment they sell to run on their system.

My V20 has gone bonkers for last couple of hours due to this - the error message pops up every 3 seconds making the phone unusable

We have LG Style 4s on android v8.1 The following worked on both:
SHUT OFF WiFi. This is one of the triggers for the issue. Just use the cellular data capability of the phone, people. Just shut it OFF, T-mobile is counting any WiFi data towards your limit (if you have one) anyways!!! It's also MORE SECURE than the the coffee shop WiFi people...
Go to settings → Apps/notifications -> app info -> three dots -> Show System -> com-lge-ims-rcsprovider -> storage
CLEAR DATA then FORCE STOP and try NOT to turn off the phone. If you do repeat the above.
These LGs are at andriod v 8.1 when everyone else seems to be at v 10 ??? Is that an LG or T-mobile lack or progress???
I may be new here, but I’m definitely not new to IT.
And DON’T reset your phones, It WILL NOT correct the Issue!!!

Tried all of that and it did not work
You might have to do it a couple of times.
Shut off the phone first.
Turn it back on and DISABLE ALL WiFi nonsense.
THEN go into settings.

I was able to find a solution that works.
- Turn off your Wi-Fi and keep it off or the box "LG IMS has stopped" will pop back up. Simply repeat the steps below to remove it again.
- You can navigate the phone with the message “LG IMS has stopped” just click any space on your phone screen around the box.. It will reappear in about three seconds so you will go a bit slower until you complete the steps below.
Steps to clear LG IMS has stopped box
Go to settings> storage//internal storage>other apps>hit three dots in upper right hand corner...>show system>scroll to find, com.lge.ims.rcsprovider (was not in order on my phone)>clear data/cache.
The box will disappear.

"LG IMS has stopped working" popup every 4 seconds rendering T-mobilr/LG phones almost unusable!
Monday May 23 1:30p ET finally got through to T-mobile tech support again now after 24 hours ---T-mobile engaged in criminal act, They are offering 2 solutions while blaming LG (phone functions fine and browses perfectly with T-MOBILE SIM CARD REMOVED (LESS PHONE/TEXT).
T-MOBILE SAYS:
1) FACTORY RESET ---do not do...does not work
- They will swap you a REVVL 5G phone for ‘free’ after ‘refundable upfront costs (and of course a contract)
UNACCEPTABLE!
They are illegally forcing the retirement of 3Gand 4G phones to up-sell customers to the (cheaper for them to run), 5G phones which may be more dangerous and are not as good quality or features as our LG phones. The REVVL phones have permanent batteries which go bad in a year. My LG has a superior low light camera.
JUST FIX THE DELIBERATE PROBLEM AND GO PUBLIC WITH IT.
Time for us to call each State Attorney General and demand an investigation.

I waited in store over 2hrs today to be told they can't help me. It's not a TMobile issue. It's LG. When i askedthe manager what I'm to do as a customer I was told, and i quote, "I don't know". There were several people steadily coming in with similar issues.
