OnePlus 8T 5G & Android 12 = Android Auto audio bug! Ayuda.

I recently upgraded my T-Mobile OnePlus 8T 5G to the Android 12 update (security update July 5, 2022) - software version KB2007_11_C.41.

There seems to be a bug with this update. Whenever I connect the phone to my vehicle's radio and initiate Android Auto, the phone prompts me what USB mode I want it to connect the USB through. I select Android Auto, and the phone connects, but all audio - music, podcast, etc. - while playing cuts in and out constantly. For example, the audio playing will pulsate between the vehicle's speakers and then the phone's speakers - over and over.

I've tried everything and can't figure out what's going on. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

For the record, I never had these issues while on Android 11, and nothing has changed with my vehicle's radio. The only variable change has been the phone's operating system version.

This bug needs to be fixed by OnePlus/T-mobile. So frustrating!

    I’ve had similar issues:

    • When I started my car with the phone plugged in, Android Auto launched, but was not properly tracking my current location (by miles, not yards) and did not update that position as I moved
    • I decided to try restarting my phone, and when plugged in AA did not launch
    • I looked at the phone’s screen and was offered 3 options, one of which is a combined “File Transfer/Android Auto” (2nd)
    • Android Auto did not load, but all my audio files on the phone started playing through the speakers, apparently in alphanumeric order by file name
    • I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the phone and backed out of the connection options, and nothing connected to the phone

Finally, the last time I checked T-Mobile's site, rollout of Android 12 to OnePlus phones was still in test phase. Was this pushed prematurely?

oddly enough it still says theyre in development..

anywho...12 itself has been a bit of a nightmare across the board when it comes to manufacturers..very few devices out there have been issue free with 12.
