Sim card fully activated but my number is unknown

I factory reset my phone after my new sim card arrived. Big mistake, because now the esim is missing. The new physical sim card was defective and I had to wait for a new one. Cannot activate online and no longer have phone or text messages on the phone since I reset it. The physical sim card is fully activated thanks to a friend who used to manage one of their stores. However, the number shows as unknown In the phones SIM manager and I still have no phone use. T mobile tried to send me email but I never received it so I have no way to do this from home and i'm paralyzed and have noone to go to the store for me. Whydidn't I get the emails they sent me since the emails are on wifi and I get everybody else's?
