Still no VoWifi for some realme devices?
Upgraded from iphone SE to Realme GT Master Edition a few months ago, had to switch over to TMobile to get it to work since it's a GSM only device (TMobile has better plan prices than Verizon anyway) but it's still not an "officially supported device", as the TMobile IMEI check said it wasn't compatible with the network but has clearly been proven wrong. Haven't had a single issue with it until now, I'm on a trip visiting family and I'm sitting in the living room with 3 or 4 bars of 5g, but as soon as I make a phone call it drops down to 1 bar of E (basically the worst connection possible) and either doesn't ring at all or when the call connects its constantly cutting in and out. When I hang up the call it instantly jumps back up to 5g. Tried looking for VoWifi settings since I know this model supports that functionality, but it's missing from the usual spot so I guess it's a carrier specific thing based on information I've found while googling. Does TMobile not support VoWifi on any devices that aren't in their system whitelist?

IMS can only provision for compatible.devices. If your device was compatible it would have been provisioned automatically.
I went to the local TMobile store and the calling worked fine there and after we left I tried it on the other side of town and it worked fine so I think we're all wrong, they said it was most likely due to a dead spot, we're right next to an overpass with the tower being on the other side and down the street so I guess that would do it. They recommended getting a booster by calling 611 so we'll try that. Still a little weird considering I'm getting full bars of 5g here with full access to everything with it, but it's just the calling that's being wonky. The booster should be overnighted so I guess we'll get our answer in a day or two. Could it be that it's falling back to non LTE 4g networks rather than 3g and it's just spotty due to a dead spot? I wouldn't mind that, especially with a booster set up

the fact that it didnt work at the original location but works again at your home to me points at a lack of a certain band that your phone needed..its at your home location but that other location im guessing it isnt on that tower. could have been the 3G shut down on that tower/area but not on the ones in your home town?
Could be that band thing. I've had several phone calls with TMobile and theyve assured me that the 3g is shut down country-wide, and none of them seem to be able to figure it out fully. It is what it is, I'm sure its some kind of band dead spot since it works fine even up in the mountains

Unfortunately I have been with t-mobile for 2 years next month!!! I've had the galaxy flip 3 from the day it came out.First few months no issues with the phone or service i was really enjoying my flip.Had to Move to a new place phone worked good for 3 months then my calls wernt coming in & when I tryed to make calls I would have to try multiple times to get a call out, And when I did get a hold of someone i would have to worry about the call droping but there were Alot of times it just wouldn't work! I Would have all bars 5g but no service. At the time I was dealing with really bad health issues And my doctors couldn't get intouch with me some times they were able to leave a message if they made it to the voice mail. It was so frustrating being sick barley able to take care of myself and my cell phone was my only line of communication. I had no family or friends that I could use there phone for messages or to talk. T-mobile went back and forth for 3 weeks with we are working to find out what the issue is we will call u in a few days if they could get through to me. So I was patient in the beginning. They said that it was nothing on there part that was stopping the service no towers down in the area blah blah . They recommend them sending a gadget that would maybe help bring a stronger signal but they didn't have any available at the time they would get one out to me asap when they did have some. I really wanted them to let me out the contract so I could go to a provider that would work for as much money as I was paying and maybe could get 1 call out of every 4 and if I could hold a conversation when I got a call . I was so sick that I delt i didnt have the energy to keep dealing with tmobile they were just giving me the run around with out any solution. I was able to get a pre pay phone to keep in contact with doctors and 911 if i was having life threatening problems. I had surgery set up and that's really all I needed to get well, and then when I was feeling beter to deal with tmobile I would. Basically I was told that because there tower's wernt Down in my area that it was really not there problem they couldn't give me any kind of discount for the bad service periods. They never sent me the boster I've had the same issues where it will work great and then it stops for months at a time. It really sucks because I'm at home 80 percent of the time with a unreliable service I'm disabled I'm not able to work anymore I used all my savings to live and they really couldn't help me with a different phone to see if that would work they wanted more money and I didn't have it. I've been stuck in this contract and the phone service has worked maybe a year and few months out of the 2years that is up next month and I'm done with Tmobile.IF I wasn't going through horrible health issues where to be honest I could barley take care of myself I just couldn't keep trying to come to some sort of resolution when really all you tmobile did was string me along with we will call u in a few days this went on for over a month and a half to be told Basically deal with it and I feel really taking advantage of at a time where I didn't know if I was going to live or die day to day and thank God I didn't need to rely on tmobile service to call 911 because would it have worked? SO THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT COSTUMER SERVICE AND THE MANY PEOPLE THAT I GOT PASSED AROUND TO AND STILL HAD TO DEAL WITH SHITY SERVICE!!@%^
Sorry to hear all that, I've been back home since the 12th and it works fine with no issues so I dunno what's up with TMobile sometimes

Personally I don't think a booster is going to help much. It's only going to help 5G and LTE.
If it doesn't help send it back.
Looking at the specs of the phone it only supports band n21 as for LTE it only supports 2,4 and 5. Band 5 is only in South Carolina. So it all depends on the location.

Also Tmobile is going to start the Vo5g.
Yeah we'll give it a go since my dad has some reception problems in the house as well and if it doesn't help we'll just send it back. Funny enough, we're in Salt Lake but I'm only gonna be here for about another week and a half and Whatsapp has proven functional so it's not a huge big deal, and I know it works back home. Thanks for the info and suggestions anyway

Those things with an unlocked bootloader, rooting, and even using Qualcomm's tools to select the carrier pefile all illustrate that VoLTE, VoWiFi, and VoNR were never implemented by RealMe for the US market. This is actually fairly common with Chinese phones. There is a lot more to how a cellphone works and interacts with a carrier's network than just the band(s) it uses for connectivity.
So it's on Realme, not TMobile? Interesting
Yes. T-Mobile USA does not block device manufacturers or device features on devices not sold by them. I used to use a Xiaomi MI Mix 3 on T-Mobile. It worked fine with WiFi Calling, VoLTE, and was a great phone for it's time. You really have to know what you are buying though. Flossy Carter on YouTube tests a lot of non-North American devices on T-Mobile USA and Verizon.
Also do you happen to know if TMobile 3g networks are completely shutdown, or is it still "in progress"? Like I said im able to make and receive calls just fine back home, so there must be a TMobile 3g network still on there but not here right?
Pretty much the entirety of 3G across all US carriers have been shutdown for over a year now. There are some exceptions for certain areas for very specific reasons. Even Canada will be sunsetting their 3G services starting mid-2024. 3G is pretty much useless in today's cellular communication world.
Weird then that it would work at all back home. I did a little more digging and found that my IMS is "not registered" so I'll let someone at a TMobile store take a crack at it since that's apparently usually a SIM issue common on dual sim models
