If I want to join a family plan, does the account holder need to be present in person?

If I want to join my friend's family plan, but we're in different states, is that possible?

Thanks,  but who needs to call T mobile support, me or the account holder?

You and the account holder because you have to allow them to take your line and they have to agree to take it from you.  If you are a prepaid user going to postpaid, you will need a new SIM.

You and the account holder have to agree, you can do this by calling in to Tmobile support.

You also need to remember once you relinquish the line to the PAH they own the line and if you ever want to leave the plan you will need there approval.
