I will be going to the Philippines soon
Hello T-Mobile! I will be going to the Philippines soon for a month and I would like to know if I can use unlimited text and data in the Philippines under my Simple Choice North America. If possible, will I get charge everytime I use it or is it just free?
Hey there! If you have a postpaid Simple Choice plan, roaming in the Philippines should be pretty awesome! You can take a look here -- Planes internacionales | Viaja al extranjero sin cargos por roaming | | T-Mobile for details. 😊 I'd definitely recommend scrolling down and entering your device type to check compatibility, and then if you know where you'll be staying you can also input your province or city in the box above and to the right of the map to see more detailed coverage.
Lastly, we have an Lista de control de roaming internacional that can be super helpful to review (and save) before you go, because it includes our roaming care number in case you need to reach out while you're abroad.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions -- hope you have an awesome trip!

helps to know which plan you are on but looking at the link calls are still billed at .25 per minute either way you look at it..

Since the T-Mobile Simple Choice Plans are no longer offered, how current is the information above?
I also have a basic T-Mobile prepay plan and I plan to visit the Philippines.
I would like to understand what my options / requirements are:
- Do I need to upgrade a Magenta Plan?
- Is the iphone 13 compatable with their service?
Gracias

Hey there, That is so fantastic. Please let us all know how you enjoy the over seas, in the Phillip, especially since it is not 2013, 14, or 15 anymore and they don't exist.

Keep in mind that Simple Choice's data in the PI is free, it's also slow. This should not be a problem for texts and most e-mails, etc but you won't be able to stream videos. Large photos will take a long time to send and receive. If you plan to use your phone for navigation, you may want to preload the maps of your area. as Marissa mentioned, you also want to check your phone. The Philippines use 900, 1800 & 2100 MHz bands (LTE bands 1,3 & 8). If your phone does not have at least 3G on the 2100 band (#1), you'll probably have 2G data which will be as useful as 2G data in the USA.
