Text Message "Not sent. Tap to try Again"

I frequently get the following error message when sending text message:

“Not sent. Tap to try Again”.

This happens WAY TOO often and is super frustrating.  I have tried to restart my phone and power cycle with no resolution. Sometimes it can take a couple of hours and multiple "taps" to finally get the message to send.

This never happened until I got a new Motorola Edge 2022 phone a few months ago.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • I'm having the same issue of texts not sending but also finding out from my wife and kids that I don't get some of their texts.  It's frustrating.  Talked with tmobile and their answer was to turn off 5G, reboot the phone, change the sms functions.  None of which works.  I'm also having issue with the phone coverage randomly not connect, so dealing with a brick for hours on end.  T-mobile lady told me there was nothing they could do and this is a motorola issue.  I've had samsung for years and thought it might be fun to try a different phone.  Worst phone decision ever.

Anyone have any luck with tmobile cancelling this phone and transferring to another phone?  I just don't want to pay for this phone anymore. It doesn't work, why should I pay to move to a phone that works?

I'm having the same problem with my Moto G 2022 phone. It's quite annoying.

Same issue here galaxy s22 ultra.

Constant 5g drops in the middle of town or in my home. Can't send texts and they fail over and over. T-mobile just ignored it and customer service just sent me to a page I already did all the steps from

I have five different phones on my account and ALL of them do the same thing.  From what I've read and tried so far there is no fix and we are switching phone companies again.  Sometimes it takes fifteen minutes plus before I receive the "couldn't send" notice.  Completely unacceptable and what's even worse is that I don't see any information that TMob is dealing with the issue. From what I'm seeing my last ditch effort would be to upgrade my plan and throw more money away.  We're going.

I have this same issue. I have found that turning off 5G on my 2022 Moto G 5G seems to do the trick.

I have the same issue with an IPhone 14 - never had any issues with AT&T so I think its a carrier issue maybe because of the different frequency they use? Seems to impact company email systems - perhaps its an issue T mobile needs to take seriously (which they dont seem to be given the complaints here?
