Availability of free data service in South America
I have been traveling internationally for a long time. As a t-mobile user I have been enjoying free data services just about everywhere in Europe and Asia. It is very convenient without having to buy local phone service.
I am going to many coutries in South America soon and am wondering if the same services are available there.
Another question is: If I am in a country my welcome message says 25 cents per minute for voice calls, is it 25 cents per minutes for local calls only? How much would it be if I call the U.S. from, say, Chile? 25 cents, also?

You can checkout coverages and other add on services for international roaming here:
I've personally visited Ecuador and Peru and the coverage was very good. Even Machu Picchu had excellent coverage!
If you plan to make a lot of calls, there are unlimited flat rate add on service. Details are in the link above. Also the international phone number to Tmobile Customer Service is free as long as you call from your cell phone. I ordered a new iPhone while in Peru and paid nothing for the 30 min call. Just make sure to dial the right number +1-505-998-3793.
