Anyboday that has t-mobile Home internet, have slow download speed slow but fast upload speed?

I have had t-mobiles home internet service for about 2 months now. The first two weeks I was getting decent upload and download speed. After those 2 weeks it's been up and down. There are days where I get 1 upload and 7 download and days where I get 35 upload and 40 download speeds. Either way the download speed is very bad. I have VERY GOOD connection quality (4 bars) and a 5g tower close to my house. I don't understand why I'm getting such slow speeds. Anybody have this issue?

    Good point, Bocaboy2591,

You can also use the T-Mobile app to see which band you are connected to on 5G and what your metrics read. You can slightly rotate your gateway to aim your antennas toward the direction of your cell tower. Then, look at your metrics - do they improve?

    ¡Buena suerte!

  • Just because there is a tower near you doesn't mean that's the T-Mobile tower you're connected to. I know it sounds too basic, but have you tried simply restarting the gateway to see if it will log on to another tower from the one you're on?

I'd also call Support with the tower number and let them tell you what tower you're connecting to and if there is an issue with it. Use the phone app and at the bottom of the screen, tap on More/Advanced Cellular Metrics. At the bottom of that list is a CGI (Cell Global Identity) number that will give you the exact tower you're connecting to with your gateway.

    ¡Buena suerte!
