Anyone else have issues with just VPN or work related applications?

We've had Tmobile internet for a couple months now, and everything was great in the beginning. Now even with good speed tests and other traffic seeming to be unaffected, anything tied to working from home is just slow or unavailable.

It feels like specific applications  (MS Teams, Slack, Zoom, etc) and VPN traffic are being specifically targeted. We've called support numerous times, but since the speed tests seem fine, they say there is nothing they can do and that they don't really support VPN.

Are we alone, or are others experiencing this? Has anyone done anything to get around these issues? We don't want to go crawling back to Comcast, but at least with them our internet functioned.

  • Just to note… speed/signal/capacity isn't the issue.  Firmware on g4SE model is bad

  • Yes, my VPN stopped working properly in July during the crowdstrike outage.  It worked great for 6 months up to then. I'm now using another internet provider for my VPN connection.  Definitely a Tmobile issue

Same issue with my new G4SE, the VPN rarely connects and when it does connect it only stays connected intermittently.  Also, video calls freeze up as if it loses connection and reconnects.  I'm a new customer and hope this is addressed quickly, I would prefer not to go back to my cable provider.

I am seeing the same thing, I am getting dropped from most of my Teams calls.  T-Mobil does not have a solve for this.

You are correct,  at least according to the 5th rep (US based) who told me about the bad update.  Those affected can get their device replaced with one that has added a block for the specific bad update.

I'm assuming that there isn't a new update to override the bad update (confirmed Oct 2).  I'm having it shipped.

Make sure to set wifi to 5ghz if you want higher speeds.  Default gives both, and ive found speed to be half
