internet residencial

Sooooo. (T-Mobile) says in there advertising 33mb average for home internet. I live in the central Phoenix Metro area (T-Mobile) says it's a good connection for home internet my phone witch is also a T-Mobile 5g phone (one plus 7pro 5g) gets amazing speeds till I use up all the high speed Internet.

Who else has slow speed??? I do speed tests on my phone and tablet and constantly get well below the 33mb that they say is the low end... Like 13-24mb slow...  Disconnect from home internet and my phone instantly jumps up to 77-164mb so.... Not sure what is happening. Anyone have any advice? Should I disable the WiFi and get a stand-a-lone router that I can assign my own wireless channels?

  • I was pleasantly surprised with the speed I was getting compared to Spectrum, so I went all in on TMobile Home Internet.  But after a few devices hitched on the network, the speeds seemed to bog down.  After researching I ended up buying a Waveform 4x4 antenna and a GL iNet Spitz AX 5g modem/router.  Together it cost me almost $1000 after sales tax.  So before opening up the Waveform, I figured I would try to Spitz AX modem first.  I took the SIM out of the TMobile modem, put it in the Spitz.  Then in the Spitz Admin panel I ran an AT Command line to make the service think the Spitz was the Arcadian T-Mobile modem issued at sign up.

Speeds went from 80mbps at best time, to 300mbps!  And under load, the Spitz maintains reliabilty much better than the fluctuating Arcadian modem.

The Spitz is WIFI 6, not sure what the Arcadian is.  I took the Arcadian back to the store but they didn't want it because its part of the service.  So its in my garage in my computer stuff boxes, until I ever stop using TMobile.

The Spitz is not cheap, but I am definitely happy with the performance.

T-Mobile Home Internet has the lowest data priority of any service.  If congested, gateway speeds will suffer.

  • Have had t mobile for a couple weeks now and not impressed.  Worked great for the 15 day trial run but now all of the sudden it keeps disconnecting and extremely slow speeds.  Time to drop this and go back to the 25 at att.  Slow but atleast reliable.

  • We've had T-Mobile 5G Home Internet for a few months now. Most of the time it's great, but occasionally there is network congestion and our 5G internet loses connection. It's a little annoying, but we got a good deal with the bundling of the home internet and wireless phone service, which means we pay about $50 less/month than the local cable provider (Spectrum), after our initial 6 month discount with them expired. To us that's worth the occasional signal loss, but to each their own.

I'm in east central Florida.  Fortunately 2 T-Mobile towers nearby.  I just checked my speed...download 202 Mbps.  When I first set up the gateway I was lucky to get 30.  Played with location and the direction of the gateway.  I found that a couple of feet in location can make a huge difference as well as a few degrees of orientation.

I believe iPhones or phones that are fairly new has 5Guw? So measuring with that is incredibly fast. The TMHI Gateway is not 5Guw? Am I right in that?

I measured the speed of 202 Mbps on my desktop HP which is a couple years old.

I have had TMobile internet for 3 years… no trouble, now I cannot even bring up the internet on my laptop..   I have no idea what “speed”… just know I rebooted everything to no avail!! Very 😡

I experienced the same issues with speed. The first month or so was an average of 100mbps. After that I was throttled down to the bottom of the barrel. Now I'm lucky to average 8mbps and often have no service at all.

What is very frustrating to me is that T-Mobile increases speeds initially to hook you. I left our terrestrial based service CenturyLink because of the speeds I saw. Unfortunately, I cannot go back because there are no more wire pairs to service me according to CenturyLink. Now I'm stuck with horrible service and am unscrupulous company that can't be trusted.

I went to the T-Mobile store and with photos and videos of the difference between a cell phone and my router. 208mbps on a phone versus 9 mbps on the router. Same time, same tower. They finally admitted that they couldn't do anything. They explained that home Internet has the lowest priority and it's just that simple. They suggested I try one of their myWifi devices. Basically, a portable modem that has the same priority as cell phones.

So in a nutshell, to get usable service one will have to resort to using another modem with a T-Mobile sim, preferably one that has a higher priority such as a phone or tablet as Madayekreb stated above.
