Gateway 5G
66 TopicsNAT (Forwarding) in T-Mobile Gateway
I recently signed up for T-Mobile internet, and I am VERY disappointed that I could not even forward NATtraffic to my home security system. I saw that this was discussed 7 months ago in a previous thread, and hope the developers will notice this. The speed is great, and the same as was advertised in the chat. I would like this issue to be resolved so that I don't need to continue with Optimum (Morris Broadband).66KViews13likes51ComentariosWhy is the Home Internet Gateway functionality crippled?
I have ArcadyanKVD21, and while I am thoroughly impressed with the speeds from the device on the T-Mobile 5G network, I am disgusted by the lack of any ability to properly manage & (more importantly)secure thisdevice. This trade between speed and security is insulting and offensive to me as a technologically adeptSecurity professional, andexacerbatedby the fact thatT-Mobile continues to fail when tasked with protecting user account PII data. The inability to perform certain key functions completely disappoints me. Below are the primary issues and concerns, which *MUST* be resolved to keep me as a customer: Cannot perform setup /administrativetasks via wired interface. Current (internal)web interface only offers a "basic" informational portal. Cannot completely disable (turn off) WiFi, (likely due to the above). What (few) administrative tasks that are available, requires:download &installation of a worthless"mobile app", which also requires the device be connected to the local WiFi network. Current administrative functions are limited to 3 tasks, changingthe:administrative password, WiFi password, orname of the WiFi SSID. T-Mobile Internet app losesany/allfunctionalitybeyond the local network. If the gateway is connected to the internet, and the device with the app is as well, then there should be no valid reason to require "local" access, especially if the next point is true… As this prevents a parental/guardianauthority from managing the device while travelingoroutside the home (at work). T-Mobile app does not permit multiple instances of the app to be logged in with the same account/credentials. (per T-Mobile technical rep) What absolutely perplexes me is that many (if not all) of these points DID NOT EXIST when I reviewed an earlydevice around one (1)yearago… So why "cripple" the functionality?!?895Visto6likes11Comentarios5G 5G21-12W-A Gateway "Trashcan" Bridge Mode
I have purchased the 5G home internet and off the bat have issues with the "barebones" firmware on the Nokia 5G21-12W-AGateway. No ability to dictate port forwarding, enable UPNP, but more specifically turn it into a "dumb modem". My home network needs the ability to put my Ubiquiti Edge Router in the DMZ(modem in bridge mode) so my OpenVPN server and Plex server can have public access. For the first couple weeks I kept my Ubiquity Router connected to fu*king ATT DSL and only put a few devices on the T-MOB GW. It was pretty unpredictable and unstable. The last 3 days its been stable with 300Mbps down, and 20+Mbps up and below 50ms ping times. So on a Sunday with everyone home, I did it. Plugged it in and changed the DNS servers on my Ubiquity DHCP. It couldn't handle the throughput. From my desktop I was running continuouspings to my pubic web server and google.com. Separately they would become unreachableor timeout, not in succession but at different times. I've got 2 separate tickets open with them now for these issues. What I am really posting for here is I would liketo know if anyone else has similar issues, with 40+ devices on their LAN in a mildly similar configuration?12KViews4likes8ComentariosUnidentified 'RDK-B-GW' Device Showing on G4AR Gateway - Need Help!
Hi, I have the white G4AR gateway, and I've noticed a strange device that always appears as connected via Ethernet. I'm certain of the number of devices connected both via Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and this device doesn't match any of them. The device is listed as "RDK-B-GW" and shares the same IP address as the G4AR, but it has a different MAC address from the gateway. This unknown device shows up under the "Connected Devices" list when I use the T Life app (which was recommended as a replacement for the T-Mobile Internet app). However, it does not appear in the "Your Devices" list when I log in through the T-Mobile Internet app. I've searched online for information, but all I find are numerous T-Mobile ads without anything specific about this device or its possible connection to the G4AR. Does anyone know what this device is and how I can remove it? Is it possibly an internal or "ghost" device within the G4AR that's incorrectly displayed as a separate entity with a different MAC address? The manual doesn't mention anything about this either. Thanks in advance for any help!Solved2.8KViews3likes16ComentariosMLB The Show does not work on my T-mobile 5g internet box.
MLB The Show does not work on my T-mobile 5g internet box. It will say "Challenge Failed" when trying to play an online match. The game works perfectly fine when i bring my xbox to my parents house. But when i bring it back to my wifi, it doesn't work. I test the NAT type until it's open, I reset the router, etc. I've done everything I can think of and there no solution. Does anyone have this same problem? This is the only game that won't work either. This and NBA 2k brought me some issues. But i can play COD or shooters on my wifi… but cross play sports games seem to bring the issue6KViews3likes21ComentariosInternet residencial de T-Mobile
When I decided to try the Home Internet offering in May, I half expected to end service after the trial period. To my delight, the setup of the Gateway device was straightforward and super simple! My other devices easily connect to its consistently fast and steady WiFi. After a bit of customer service help I've received my rebate for first month of service. I've also got a rebate for price of a Roku device. What a great deal from a great customer first company!192Visto2likes2Comentarios5g Home Internet Gateway Monitoring
Does anyone know of a way to monitor device traffic on the 5G home internet gateway? I am seeing very large data use when everyone in the house should be asleep and all devices inactive, I'm trying to see which device is causing the problem. Is there a router-login (the 192.168.0.1 router page) equivalent for the gateway that lets me monitor this? ¡Gracias!901Visto2likes3ComentariosMIMO antenna for T-Mobile 5G home internet gateway?
Hi all - New T-Mobile home internet user, here. I set up my 5G internet gateway (silver cylinder) this weekend and it works just fine. I have Frontier DSL and Charter Spectrum now and T-Mobile is currently way outperforming Frontier DSL and outperforming Charter Spectrum almost always. I found this article about installing a MIMO antenna using the internal gateway ports. https://www.waveform.com/a/b/guides/hotspots/t-mobile-5g-gateway Has anyone tried it? I would be interested in experiences and results. ¡Gracias de antemano!49KViews2likes32ComentariosT-Mobile Home Internet Gateway "No USIM" error
I recently just purchased the T-Mobile Home internet service but upon turning on the device at home, instead of automatically going to a software update or displaying the connection signal strength, it gave me an error saying "No USIM". At first I thought there was no sim card in the device. After checking the sim card holder, there was in fact a sim card installed. After many calls to T-Mobile's customer service team, no troubleshooting step they gave me worked. I have tried turning it on and off, factory reset, uninstalling and reinstalling the sim card, and still the same "No USIM" error occurs. After many unsuccessful attempts, I eventually just called and ordered a new sim card. New sim card comes in, not surprisingly doesn't work. At this point of writing, I am considering taking the device back to the original store I received it from and getting a replacement router. Any idea how to fix my problem before I take the device back to the store? My device is the Cylinder 5GNokia Router btw.Solved12KViews2likes8ComentariosNAT/forwarding issues while gaming/streaming
Hey guys, I'm new here... I just got my gateway in yesterday... I must say, I'm highly disappointed and I only wish I researched this further before I ordered it...I've already donemultiple searches on this topic, so I'm not gonna ask the question I've been wanting to ask which was: "Why isn't my connection open NAT?", or "Why can't I port forward?". I've pretty much answered all of those questions myself by simply searching. I have taken it upon myself to call T-mobile's tech support anyways in the event that somehow a miracle is sent my way.... Fortunately for me, a very kind gentleman by the name of Alex, employee number 786457, assured me that they will be fixing the problem within a 48 hour period. I was told there will be some Beta software sent to my unit "possibly". And yes, that was the word used... Not sure how far I can believe that, seeing as how a lot of you are having issues. But anyway, this is my journey. I will post some updates here n there to let y'all know the outcome. Worst case scenario this causes me to vacate the community & the service entirely. Because this is probably one of the largest handicaps any network can have, it's almost like having parental control without it actually being implemented. Stay tuned folks, I'll let you know what happens. Hopefully this "beta" program isn't bullcucky.6KViews2likes33Comentarios
