Gateway 5G
13 TopicsWhat happened to my 700mb download speed ?
I have been enjoying 600 to 700 mb download speeds for the past year. now for the past 24 hours, I am in single digits and the teens. Was on with support and they actually had me go to the store and get a new modem suspecting issues. Long story short, no tower issues, no throttle, nothing new added to netwrok and new modem. I am only maxing out at 27mb. what happened? I am out here in brush prairie wa. anyone having similar issues ?28Visto0likes0ComentariosThe router page in my browser (5G Home Unlimited)
We got T-Mobile a couple of days ago and I am wondering if maybe this was a bad idea. 1) While I LOVE that a 256MB download happens faster than I can blink, The regular use of the computer is irritating me to death. It just loads for the longest time and nowhere in the house except for 10 ft from the gateway has a good signal. When I logged into the router page to check things, I was absolutely Gob Smacked at how very little USEFUL anything there was there. There is nowhere to see any devices or connection to the device. Also, when trying to set up a printer, I realized there was not only NO WPS PUSHBUTTON but there isn't a way (that was immediately obvious) to use the PIN option. WHY in the world would companies keep taking away methods for people to use to connect things. And I read that it was possible to manage this internet without a telephone, but I'm going to say that unless you mean just verifying the connection is up and what the device serial number is, then the router page is an absolutely useless step to tell people to go to check when they have problem. And the speeds so far haven't really been all that mind blowing. And considering I am coming from a download speed of 6MBPs MAX, that should say something. So, why did T-mobile choose to manufacture a Gateway that sucks as far as any way to connect things besides entering a password? And I wasn't aware that the gateway had an optional antennae if it wasn't working well but would it help with the wifi signal. Thanks in advance.Solved117Visto0likes4ComentariosLost 5G connection (14th Ave & Taravel St)
Hi all, I live in San Francisco near the 14th Ave and Taraval St 5G tower. As of several days my TMHI router is no longer connecting to 5G. It keeps LTE only. Wonder if you happen to know what I can do? Called support but they keep saying their system says everything is working fine. Gracias31Visto0likes0ComentariosN71 5g band FULL BARS fast download and upload and low latency, but this....
I monitor my connections in real time. The 5g band of N71 running at the lower frequency is super great, full signal bars and gives me superb performance. The LTE band will change in an ongoing loop of LTE B2 connecting instantly to 5G N71, then dropping N71 and going to LTE B66 and reconnecting instantly to 5G N71, then dropping my 5G N71 band to allow LTE B71 while searching for a different 5G signal than 5G N71, then cycling back to LTE B2 and instant 5G N71 connection and continuing this loop of cutting my 5G service which does not need disconnected from as it is near perfect and FULL signal. B71 has the same full signal strength as the 5G N71 yet upon either the tower or the gateway or both <according to tech support I just got off the phone with>, the powers that be will not allow my GREAT N71 connection to stay connected at all times. She could not provide me the answer as to why this happens and why I cannot stay on a working 5G signal that is great. Upon asking if I got my own gateway and committed the band selection to stay on N71 if the signal would hold at all times. She said it would be something to test as she does not know and informed me there is no higher level of tech support or anyone in the whole company that could help with this and explain why this is going on. Someone does have control of this in Tmobile somewhere. How come I cannot get my internet 5g to stay connected to the 5G band of N71 as no other 5G bands will connect at all when I am receiving a FULL Strength signal of the lower frequency 5G band N71 when it goes through this cycle loop, causing severe latency issues and hindering me from staying connected to a 5G signal which is working flawlessly as I do pay my bill and should be able to stay on a near perfect 5G signal on band N71? I lose my perfectly working 5G internet due to the releasing of the signal as either the tower, gateway or BOTH are working against this.Support can offer NO ANSWER at all….who do I talk to so that I can get the service I pay for and is proven to be working flawlessly when the service provided by TMOBILE is being completely DUMB sand STUPid for a lack of better words? I pay for 5G please let me use the signal that is in my house coming to my gateway at the best connection I have ever had in my residence on the N71 5G band. My internet is advertised as Tmobile 5G home internet, says it on the bill. Am I not being denied the service I pay for? for whatever reason? 5G band N71 works flawlessly and the technology they are using or the code which is running the tower and/or gateway is denying me of great 5G internet and Tmobile is not providing the working 5G N71 signal to do the job I am paying them for. We've only had T-Mobile since the start of the year, but our cell and 5G home internet service was better than most other companies in the area. We consistently had 2-3 bars of 5G at all times. A few months ago we got the text that there was cell tower work being done in our area. Fast forward a week and we got notice that work was complete. From that point on our service will be at the normal 2-3 bars of 5G, but every 5-10 minutes (sometimes more often, sometimes less often) the service will drop to 1 bar of LTE. This is enough that it will drop any call, and our internet will drop out without question for 2-3 minutes of time. I have reset the network settings on our phone, as well as the 5G gateway. Being that this started after tower work I am wanting to know if there is a way to get engineers out to check the service in our area or to file a complaint, etc. I am beginning to regret switching everything from ATT now.Solved328Visto0likes3Comentarioscontinuous buffering
Streaming at low resolution I get 1-3 minutes then it buffers for 1-3 minutes. Even tho I show Good 5G connection. 3 bars all cellular metrics for 5G are good to excellent. Not really even usable for network browsing on a laptop or notepad. Will not put up with this awful service much longer.66Visto1like1ComentarioConnection speed 5g gateway
So I have the 5g gateway. I was told I would get a 50Mb-150Mbps possibly more for connection. I'm steadily getting 30Mbps. The only thing I use on it is my PS5. I have not once attained a 5 bar connection. Really would like to know what I'm doing wrong. I also have a Netgear mesh extender I've tried to use to boost the signal that's there but I'm not so sure it helps lol. This just bugs me.. what do I do..107Visto0likes1Comentariotmobile wifi gateway vs connecting with google nest mesh
I hello everyone ! I got the T-Mobile wifi on my house working great getting around 200-400 mps download which is great for $50 a month. I already had the google nest mesh wifi system and I was wondering if it's best to use the mesh of google nest or just use the 5g gateway T-Mobile sent. I've heard of people that the gatewaygets overheated and doesn't support something to do with a private address or dns something like that which I don't even know the benefits of but I'm wondering if everyone else recommends an external router or just using the gateway since it's giving me faster speeds.2KViews0likes3Comentariost mobile internet question
a couple of years ago i got to test one of those what some call a trashcan 5g internet device. it seemed to work well but i could not see my cameras thru it when i was gone, so i sent it back. so now being they ahve had a couple of years to perfect this unit have they ever got them so you can see your security system when out of the home and gone? also i was at the t mo store the other day to see if the could help me get my metro phone working and they talked about a new 5g modem, so is that new modem any better and is it the same price for using as the trash can unit? today i was on the t mo site and typed in my address and it said I'm now not in the coverage area and i can see the 5 g tower out my back door. when i had the trash can there was a lot of talk of this not working for out of the home type use mostly for security cameras. as that would be the most one would need to see back into the home for. it would be pointless to have this service and then pay for cloud service for cameras anyway maybe some have figured this out or t mo has now added it to the firmware. thanks118Visto0likes2Comentarios
