5g home internet
11 TopicsAnyConnect VPN has become too slow as of Sep 2024
I use Tmobile 5G internet and my AnyConnect VPN speeds were adequate until Sep 2024! The VPN speeds are now at best about 4 mbits/sec for download and about 6 mbit/sec upload, which is way too slow. The nominal speed, without VPN, for myTmobile 5G internet, is more than 300 mbits/sec download speeds. What has changed and how do I resolve this?75Visto0likes0ComentariosUnexplained Skyrocket of 5G Home Internet Usage
I called T-Mobile support about this, but they really didn't have any answers for me, so wanted to see if anyone else had experienced anything like this. My TM 5G Home Internet usage skyrocketed without any change in our household's usage behavior during this current billing cycle (May 2023). We have the Nokia 5G21 Gateway. In March we used 66.55 GB, April was 9.23 GB and May is 417.31 GB. I've checked all the devices connected to our home network and have been able to identify them all, so I don't think anyone is tapping into our network. We aren't experiencing any decrease in speeds or dropping of the network, so maybe I don't have any reason to be concern, the jump in data usage was just alarming, since we only really web browse, stream video and connect smart home devices. We don't do anything that would send massive data outwards, either. A few things I noticed in my usage reports over the last few months was the number of reports jumping from 8 in March and 1 in April to over 3,000 in May. Also, the previous reports showed as "Mobile Internet," whereas May's report shows all as "Internet Access." So those were both odd.669Visto0likes6Comentarios5G HOME/BUSINESS INTERNET - SAN DIEGO
I have been having HORRIBLE service on 5G small business internet (same as 5g home). Latency is 3451 when using speedof.me and speedtest.net hardly ever loads at all. I am on my 3RD device and tonight I called for the 8th time and this time they said it is "local site issues". Apparently all towers in San Diego or at least all towers near me, are being upgraded/have site issues. I will get 140mbps and then 21mbps. Sometimes at night it is 2.8mbps. UGHH. Why can't they work on one tower at a time lol. Basically I am going to jump ship to a different 5G provider OR back to cable if it isn't corrected soon. I can't run a business like this. ANYONE have a fix/temp suggestion?69Visto0likes1ComentarioHow do I access advanced routing features of the 5G High-Speed Internet Gateway?
My background is in software engineering and I'm currently studying network security. I would like to have access to advanced features on the Internet Gateway such as DHCP, NAT, Port Forwarding, DMZ, etc. I usually have to assign a static IP address to my printer to get it to work, among other things. How do I access the advanced features of the gateway?1.1KViews0likes3ComentariosGateway restarting on its own issue solution
If you have recently been experiencing your gateway consistently restarting on its own, I have figured the hard way after replacing the gateway 2x,SIM card & power cord replaced 1X, factory resets and full replacement provided by a local store that the1 thing I had not tried was changing my Network passwords and that did the trick. I know it is a pain, but worth it!310Visto0likes6ComentariosI can't use my softphone with the T-Mobile 5G Home Internet Gateway
We have a number of soft phones running with Voip.ms as our service. It works fine with our ATT gateway but times out with ourT-Mobile 5G Home Internet Gateway. Any idea how to fix this? Is it a problem on Voip.ms side or the T-Mobile side? So far I have talked with T-Mobile and they have been real helpful. I am waiting for a response from VOIP.ms but if someone has a solution, I am all ears!209Visto0likes2ComentariosNeed real tech support for 5g download problems
I have had t-mobile 5g Home Internet for a couple of weeks now. My download speeds are running around 30 to 40 Mbps on average, as determined by checking speedtest.net every 10 minutes. (I am trying decide if I will keep this service or, sadly, go back to the slow but reliable CenturyLink DSL I had formerly). The download speeds aren't great, but they are definitely better than I get with my 10Mbps DSL. However in the last two or thee days I experience almost total outages. Please see graph below: Three days of download speed tests, 10 minute intervals T-Mobile only offers phone support, and so there is no opportunity to present the information I have and the calls are really time-consuming. I have a lot of respect for the folks in India who handle these calls, but let's face it, they are just running a "reset the modem and hope" sort of checklist. My call resulted in absolutely no long-term fix. So is there any way, short of some sort of e-mail roulette (guess an email address and give it a shot) that any customer can get a higher level of tech support? Somewhere a customer might: (1) be able to ascertain if the problem is the result of a local outage, and (2) let me know if my speed tests have somehow besmirched me as a "heavy data user"? (So far I have used a little less than 1GB of data.). Would I get cut down to .4Mbps for entering this category? Thanks for any help or suggestions anyone can supply.499Visto0likes7ComentariosSeems odd that my home internet upload is much higher than download speed. Does that indicate a problem?
New to Tmobile 5g home internet. Have the black gateway and getting 4bars. Think the tower is within sight of our house. Speedtest download speeds about 32-35 mbps. Upload speeds are closer to 70. That seems odd to me. Does that indicate there is a problem?357Visto0likes1Comentario
