apple watch

Hello, I purchased an Iwatch SE (with Cellular service capability) for my son. I also setup a phone line for a STAND ALONE number for the Iwatch itself. I do not have any active line Iphones in my account. I do have a test Iphone 7 plus (not an active line) I know you need to go through the initial setup (and install apps) from an Iphone. I am also hearing that the iphone needs to be an active line. (Confirming is true) My goal is to use my dummy iphone (which does not have a active line with tmobile)to setup the iwatch and then once it is done, I am able to call my son from his Iwatch phone number and also track him on wheres my apple device app? Is there any possibility to have this "Stand Alone" Iwatch (which has its own number) but NOT have an active Iphone (with a phone number)? I Am trying to avoid to pay for another line just get my son's iwatch to work as a phone. What I am hearing is it needs to have an active Iphone line just to get the iwatch to work with service ? (I am hoping this is not the case) My son has his own Apple ID so I am happy to use the dummy phone to setup his iwatch. Let me know if there is anyway I can get around this WITHOUT me purchasing another service line from Tmobile. Gracias11KViews2likes5ComentariosApple Watch on Metro by T-Mobile
3 weeks ago, I called customer service to see if I could add an apple watch to my Metro by T-Mobile plan. I was assured that all I had to do was call with the IMEI number and I'd be able to add it. Fast forward to today when I tried to add my newly purchased apple watch and I was told that the network had not been updated to support apple watch. The customer service agent must have heard my jaw drop because he reassured me that this would happen soon (I have no reason to believe this is true since the last customer service agent gave me false information). So can anyone tell me if Metro by T-Mobile actually supports apple watch? And if not, are there any plans for Metro by T-Mobile to support apple watch?7.3KViews0likes3ComentariosSwitching apple watch-standalone plan to digits plan?
I recently received my Apple Watch SE (2021) from Tmobile that I had ordered on a standalone plan. At the time I believed I would be able to use it alone with its' own number since I chose the standalone plan option. However, theiPhone I used to set it up with, is serviced with AT&T. Therefore, Iwas not able to setup the cellular service with Apple Watch SE from Tmobile because my iPhone is with AT&T. (Note: I did not want to do the "add a family apple watch" as this would cause me to create a new iCloud account) So,I went ahead and ordered a iPhone with Tmobile. Because I was not expecting to have an iPhone with Tmobile, I would like to switch theApple Watchto a DIGITs plan instead of a standalone plan. Would this be possible?3KViews3likes1ComentarioAdding an Apple Watch to my account for a child
I have the Magenta Max plan with 3 lines with an iPhone on each (me, wife, son). I want to add an Apple Watch for my daughter as a standalone device so she can call us in an emergency and so we can see her location when going to/from school (she is too young for an iPhone). When I try to buy a watch from T-Mobile online, the site keeps asking me which existing line I would like to add the watch to. I can't find any way to buy a watch and add a standalone line for it. I was hoping to take advantage oftheApple Watch SE 2 deal (24 monthly credits when adding a line) but it seems to be for a Digits line only, paired with an existing number. Is there a specific process for this? Or do I need to go to a store? thanks!2KViews0likes2ComentariosThe utter and abject failure of my encounter with T- Mobile support of the Cellular option provided by Apple Watches.
The utter and abject failure of my encounter with T- Mobile support of the Cellular option provided by Apple Watches. Original problem: Lost the ability, that originally worked, to make or receive cellular VOICE calls when out of range of cell phone, or when cell phone was turned off….. EVEN THOUGH I was still on the T-Mobile LTE network and had the use of text and GPS. After working with T-Mobile tech, I lost the ability to add a cellular plan to watch (getting Error code 406.) The watch works as normal, when able to go thru the cellular phone. But without being able to use the phone as a conduit, the calls always fail. Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max / Apple Watch Series 7 / All with current software Two hours on the phone with T-Mobile Front end and backend support 4/3 Two hours at a T-Mobile store with representative and backend support 4/4 Two hours at the Apple Store ALL WITH NO ONE WITH ANY CLUE WHAT WAS WRONG Apple sent my Apple Watch off to the regional repair location 4/5 New replacement Apple Watch Series 7 with Cellular received Problem persists on new watch Another 3 hours on phone with T-Mobile backend support New error in addition to old problem T-Mobile error "The maximum number of devices allowed to be paired to this phone has been reached. To continue you will need to unpair a device."Error code 406" T-Mobile representative was unable to figure this out …… Back on the phone to Apple L2/L3support… confirms message is referencing T-Mobile configuration or processes. Another call to T-Mobile T-Mobile backend support unable to make any inroads toward a solution, advised they are sending me out a new cellular phone. My cellular phone has consistently been the only thing working properly, so I am hesitant to change anything with that regard. THIS HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. I love Apple products, but their partnership with T-Mobile is a ghastly abomination of inadequate training or processes that are too complicatedfor their employees…. It's been a week since my ordeal began, and there is no end in sight… My advice, STAY AWAY FROM T-MOBILES implementation of the cellular capabilities of Apples watches. DIGITS is a failure, either by complexity, process, or employee training and expertise.1.5KViews2likes14ComentariosActivating standalone apple watch on t-mobile, while paired to iPhone using different carrier?
Hi, looking for expert advice/help: I got an Apple watch SE for my child, and purchased a standalone plan from T-mobile. She does not have a phone. The adults have Verizon phones. The watch was an outright purchase from apple, and no one at customer service at T-mobile indicated that this would be an issue when purchasing the plan over the phone. (Reason for choosing T-mobile was that the verizon standalone watch plan costs 3x more) I initially paired the watch to my own phone under "set up for a family member", but T-mobile was unable activate the watch over the phone (2 different calls/attempts). When I select "set up cellular" on the watch, only a Verizon login page loads. I went to a physical T-mobile store, and the employee told me you can't set up a standalone plan on a watch using a phone that has a different carrier. Google seems to yield conflicting results. I did find a Verizon page stating "The Apple Watch doesn't need to be connected to the same carrier as your Apple® iPhonewhen set up using Standalone mode (Set Up for a Family Member)" …. so I would assume the same would be truefor other carriers (such as T-mobile)offering a standalone watch plan?? Has anyone successfully set up a T-mobile standalone apple watch under these circumstances and can offer help? Thanks very much ..1.4KViews1like4ComentariosApple Watch SE Standalone - International roaming doesn't work
I'm traveling in one of the T-mobile supported roaming countries (Spain) and while our phones have successfully used the local cell network, our standalone apple watch (not tethered to a device) is unable to go into international roaming mode. I spoke to a T-mobile rep (who was nice, but didn't seem that knowledgeable) and we hunted for some plan that might allow for international roaming for a standalone but were unable to find one. Oddly, on this page:https://my.t-mobile.com/account/change-plan/plan-comparisonthere seems to be a Standalone 500Mb plan that DOES support International roaming. I happen to have an Unlimited plan, which I assume would supersede a 500Mb plan. Is there any truth to the 500Mb plan and actual international roaming or is this untrue?1.2KViews0likes1ComentarioAnyone else experienced a PAID line being added to their account without your authorization, and then had issues with T-Mobile when trying to remove the added line and get a refund?
Upgraded and bought a new iPhone in a T-Mobile store on 04/22/2022 - I am unfortanely just now noticing after reviewing my yearly reports for tax season approaching, that there was a data line added to my services/bill on the same day, for an apple watch?! The charge was insignificant in cost enough for me to never notice too much of a difference, and the sales representative in the store explained to me the new bill amount and an increase being due to the monthly amount I would be charged for the iPhone payment plan option to pay month for a phone instead of paying in full. I am now trying to have the line removed but the customer service dept. has only tried to tell me I am wrong and that I activated this on my own MONTHS prior to 4/22/22, which is so far from true. I have only ever used my apple watch on wifi/connected to my phone via bluetooth. After reviewing my usuage overview for 2022, each month shows the additional line and every month has 0.00GB of data used. I found this information through my t-mobile account but yet the customer service reps I've spoken to (which has been several now) all seem incompentent and unable to find similar information to show that this change was unauthorized. In addition, the representatives only focus seems to be on conversion or a new sale, rather than doing actual customer service. What happens to customer service??? Anyone had similar experiences? What did you have to do to get T-Mobile to cooperate and help? Do I need to file claim with the Better Business Bureau you think? Anyone filed with the BBB before, and if so, did you have any good results from it? I just want a line removed and something credited to my account for the near year I have paid for a service I never signed up for or authorized, and it seems impossible.1.1KViews0likes10ComentariosI want to turn off/discontinue the cellular number and protection plan for my apple watch???
