assurant claims
46 TopicsAssurant robbed me for my money.
I have about 3 devices under assurant protection with t mobile. I ended up damaging a screen on one and filed a claim. while waiting for them to send me one in the mail. I had an unfortunate event and got the device stolen, being cracked and damaged it doesn't hold any value anymore. I called assurant to see if they could help me out since I didn't have the original device no longer and pay a higher deductible since I wouldn't be able to return the old one. They declined to help me and stated if i wasn't able to return the original device they would charge me full price for the replacement.. Note they had already charged me $100 for the deductible and now they were also going to charge me the price of a new galaxy note 8 when its not even new ( its refurbished) which doesn't have the same value as a brand new note 8. They declined to help knowing I still owe $400 on my original. I paid over $500 just on insurance this year and the one time i decide to use their service, I end up in a dilemma where its either I use my insurance and end up with my original phone balance and pay on top another $600 for a refurbished note 8 when all assurant has or had to do was cancel my claim or change it from broken to stolen claim. I am more than glad to pay the deductible of a stolen device but assurant has also declined to do so. I am not happy with the way management dealt with my claim. I angry and frustrated with assurant. I will most likely end my insurance plan on my devices because if I couldn't event get my first claim done right. They didnt seem to care at all and now I have to get a new device because I cannot afford to file a claim with assurant because instead of giving me piece of mind and having me proctected all they way instead I'm being robbed out of my money. Thanks for everything assurant!!!5.2KViews14likes20ComentariosAbsolutely Terrible Experience with Assurant - Avoid Them at All Costs!
I recently dealt with Assurant, and I cannot express how utterly disappointed and frustrated I am with their abysmal customer service. My ordeal began when I needed a replacement phone, and it took a whopping ten days for Assurant to deliver it, turning what should have been a straightforward process into a never-ending nightmare. First and foremost, their customer service representatives were a nightmare. It was as if they had no regard for the fact that I had been without a functioning phone for a week and a half. I was met with incompetence, indifference, and a complete lack of urgency on their part. Basic customer service etiquette was an alien concept to them. But the horror didn't stop there. After receiving the replacement phone, I was slapped with a jaw-dropping $500+ "no return phone fee" on my T-Mobile bill, which Assurant was supposed to take care of after I returned the damaged device. Despite my return of the phone and multiple follow-ups, Assurant is forcing me to wait through not one but two billing cycles before removing this fee from my T-Mobile bill. This careless delay in resolving the issue cost me time, energy, and significant money. I am appalled by Assurant's utter disregard for their customers' time and peace of mind. They prioritize their bureaucratic processes over the needs and satisfaction of the people they serve. It's astounding that a company with such a terrible customer service track record can operate in today's market or serve T-Mobile customers. In conclusion, my experience with Assurant has been nothing short of a nightmare. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to think twice and explore other options. Their poor customer service, excessive delays, and lack of accountability make them a company I will never ever deal with again. Save yourself the frustration and anguish, and avoid Assurant at all costs.3.8KViews13likes21ComentariosAssurant Damaged Device Returned - Not Recived
I filed a claim with Assurant in early February 2020- they denied it at first then after another call they approved it. I received the replacement and returned my damaged phone on 2/7/2020 via USPS using the label they provided. I called after receiving the second notice that the phone was not received as it should have been delivered by then. Turns out it had been delivered on 2/11/2020, but there was no phone inside the envelope. I called Assurant and was told that the envelope was sealed, but that the ends were opened. Sounded to me like the way they probably open these when they arrive and process the claim. Regardless, they said i would have to file a claim with USPS and that if they did not find the phone i would be charged non returned fee for it. I asked them to share there notes with me, so that i could use them when filing a claim with USPS, she said she could not. I asked that the call be escalated and the manager proceeded to tell me that was correct and that USPS has a contact with them and they could share information directly with them. At this time she also said that the envelope was not opened, but referenced tampered claim. As requested I have submitted the claim with USPS, but we are almost at the 30 day mark so they will be passing a fee to T-Mobile and 15 days later it will be billed and they can not undo it even if USPS finds the phone. To say i am unhappy with Assurant is an understatement as they are going to charge me up to $600 for the damaged phone that i know was returned. I have been a long time custom with T-Mobile and have had a couple of claims over the years and have had no issues with the damaged phone being received by Assurant. I do not want them to pass a charge over to T-mobile for something that i know is incorrect. I am asking T-Moble to review my account and help me resolve this with Assurant.12KViews13likes37ComentariosAssurant return damaged device package Empty!!
I have been a customer of Tmobile for the last 16 years and have filed 3 claims 2 damaged phones and 1 stolen. I have paid $4,608.00 in total for insurance on my devices. $42,240.00 for phone service. I am beyond upset and no is not even the amount I am erroneously being charged by assurant through T-mobile. But is the scam that assurant is able to get away with! This is my story, I accidentally damaged my phone in September and filed a claim with assurant for this phone to be replaced, my claim was approved next day and I received my replacement. I sent the damaged phone back to assurant on September 14th and received a notification it was received September 17th in their York PA warehouse. I received a letter in November stating phone was not received, so I called assurant and their Rep stated that they had actually received the phone but the package had not been scanned in. Then I get a charge on my T-Mobileaccount in December stating assurant never received their damaged device. I call assurant and again I am told the device was received but the packaged had not been scanned. I wait a week and call again and now another rep is telling me the package I sent was empty and it was received empty, so I ask why would I claim a damaged phone and then keep it. Why would I send an empty package and taken the time to tape it and mail it and track it just so I could be told package was received but it is empty so you have to pay full price for a refurbished phone replacement. This is definitely a scam and there is no way that our packages arrive empty. It makes no sense my phone was literally in pieces due to car accident who would steal a damaged phone that had no use. Please T-Mobile investigate assurant and please find another insurance provider for your customers.3.4KViews8likes32Comentariosassurant fraudsters
I have been dealing with this ordeal for 3 months. I certainly believe is a scam from Assurant. I filed a claim back in March for a device that broke, immediately after i returned my device. End of March received a message from assurant to send the device, called them they said that they received the device it wasnt scanned. Received a second message on April, called them same thing device was received not scanned , not to worry because they had it. At the end on May $579 charged on my account. I called them back again the device not scanned. I called them back yesterday to verify the status of my refund and now they say that they receive an empty package. i have tracking number and details from USPS where they handed the package to an individual at their location in York Pennsylvania. The internet is full of similar complaints. These insurance companies are scamming consumers. They charged you a monthly fee, they charged you a deductible and then they charge you more than the device is worth for a broken device. A device that was returned to the and they stated 3 previous times that they had on the warehouse but not scammed. T-Mobile should stop using this company. They are fraudster's. I will continue to complaint with FCC, Insurance Regulation and open a small claim suit. What you are all doing to the consumers is not legal. Your scam need to stop.867Visto5likes7Comentariosassurant insurance is a scam!
I can't even begin to tell the story because it is infuriating, but it isn't any different than the horrible experiences reported by so many others here and across the internet on what a lying, horrible, rip off scam assaurant is. They cost me so much in lost time and money and it's disgusting that T-Mobile would partner with such a gross business… and a terrible reflection on T-Mobile. I've been with T-Mobile EASILY OVER 10 years, during which time I've payed out hundreds, if not thousands of $ for insurance coverage and have *never* filed a claim. And the one time I do it was such a horrible process I ended up having to buy a new phone from T-Mobile anyway just so I can do my job! it is a disgusting scam. Shame on T-Mobile for lying to customers about assurant and basically coercingthem to use it as if there are no other options. Buyer beware. Take pictures of everything and save as much as you can. Even the reps who helped me get a new phone at the T-Mobile store told me the insurance is a scam!!!966Visto4likes1ComentarioDenied phone claim mistakenly says phone not covered
My Samsung s20fe was shattered and I could not use it. I put my Sim card in a devixe I borrowed from a friend and I filed a claim on my s20fe. My claim was denied and it said " device not covered " so I contacted assurant they told me that I had to contact tmobile cause this was on their end. So I contacted tmobiles experts and they apologized and said that my it was their fault and my device was infact covered. Told me to file another claim when I tried it wouldn't let me and denied me again when I did file. Tmobile now says there is nothing that they can do because it's been over 90 days so I'm stuck paying on a phone that I don't even have and they will not send me a replacement. It happened in the beginning of December 2021 and it's now May 28 2022 still paying for the phone every month and the insurance... its ridiculous has anyone else had this kind of problem??3.5KViews3likes9ComentariosREAD FIRST BEFORE FILING INSURANCE CLAIMS THRU ASSURANT
For anyone requesting a replacement phone for a defective phone, you may want to consider opening a lost/stolen device claim instead of a defective replacement claim. Read your insurance documents to ensure this is true for you. They are provided on the Assurant claim site when filing a claim after entering your device details. For lost/stolen claims, you'll receive your replacement for the same deductible charged if you opened a defective device claim without the responsibility of returning the defective device back to Assurant. By responsibility, this means being responsible for any and all charges if the device does not make it back to Assurant. This charge for a non-returned item can be as much as half or more of thereturned device's cost if purchased brand new If you have a tier 6 device, this can end up being a surprise charge of $600 on your phone bill that you'll be responsible for paying as Tmobile or any phone carrier using Assurant for the services can do nothing about except shut off your services if you refuse to pay. So to make all those monthly insurancepayments worthwhile, do yourself a favor and never file a claim to replace a defective device. Always file the claim for a lost/stolen device.6.3KViews3likes5ComentariosTmobile 360 Insurance & Assurant = False Promises
I strongly advise not to get Tmobile insurance, don't make the mistake I did... It sounded good 4 years ago, when Applecare didn't have lost & stolen option... So last week at the end of July in 2023, I needed to replace my battery it's at 77% health... Tmobile store sends me to Apple store, I was told that I have to go back to Tmobile since the phone is older than 2 years (normally they would replace it or install new fresh battery at 100% health). I go back to Tmobile, waited 20 mins for help... they order me a phone. They didn't notify me that it was ready for pickup, so 4 days later I went in inquiring about it, they check and had it there the entire time... $5 for the exchange of phone cost, also it's a refurb... I asked if the battery was new, they said it was... then told me the transfer backups will take more than 6 hours, had to come in next day in the morning, because they don't allow you to take the phone home to do the transfer... So after leaving my personal phone for like 6 hours there, they call me up the transfer completed and you can pickup the phone... Got there, checked everything out only to realize the refurb battery health was only at 78%... 1% better than my phone! I was shocked, a bit angry, and couldn't believe I wasted this much time on this BS process... I wanted to yell at the top of my lungs, but held it in store, my face was probably super red... I asked the Tmobile rep, why is the phone battery not new... why couldn't they replace the battery of my old phone with a new one instead, and if I could just annul this whole process and keep my old phone... Their policy is they can't do that and that they can only order another phone (refurb probably again) and that I would basically have to count my luck on the lottery that the battery will be better than both these current phones.... They can't help with anything else, besides me having to call 611 or corporate to grieve about my issue... Which I had to and the options I have are either they can replace the phone again, get an upgrade (i don't want to till the 15 comes out), or go to a 3rd party repair shop to get an estimate... a weekend past and I'm still waiting for a call back... and I'm asking myself why I paid $18/mon for 4+ years just so I have to go through this BS process and do all this work myself?!... Oh on top of that my google authenticator info didn't transfer over when they asked me to erase my old phone... I spent the last two days trying to get apps (tesla, banking & financial, etc) and accounts (email, software, etc) to get resolved and log back into them... (Don't do Google Authenticator! Go with SMS text (they say less secure, you'll thank me as it's much easier in life and I think with all the hacking, it's still plenty safe) otherwise, those who won't let you do phone #/SMS, go with Microsoft 2FA or 2FAS for iPhone). Next phone upgrade, will be Applecare+ w/lost & stolen option directly with Apple! I apologies for the long TLDR post/rant!, I just had so much stress and things going wrong over a week, just over a simple battery replacement... Besides all this mumbo-jumbo, I still think with my grandfathered plan, T-Mobile has an excellent phone plan pricing for my family and I, but their customer service in store sux and same with their upgrades (need to upgrade to the latest plan +add lines) went downhill over the pandemic!586Visto3likes3ComentariosTMobile Assurant =Scam
Go to TMoible they said...It'll be fine they said. This is hands down the WORST service I've been with, and I went through AT&T and Cingular. The Assurant Insurance group is either grossly incompetent or committing Fraud. Three months later and $700 charge they finally tell me the "package was empty" but cannot provide any proof it was empty. DEAR TMOBILE I will make it my life's mission to tell everyone I know just how badly you take care of your customers.200Visto2likes2Comentarios
