I filed a claim with Assurant in early February 2020- they denied it at first then after another call they approved it. I received the replacement and returned my damaged phone on 2/7/2020 via USPS using the label they provided. I called after receiving the second notice that the phone was not received as it should have been delivered by then. Turns out it had been delivered on 2/11/2020, but there was no phone inside the envelope. I called Assurant and was told that the envelope was sealed, but that the ends were opened. Sounded to me like the way they probably open these when they arrive and process the claim. Regardless, they said i would have to file a claim with USPS and that if they did not find the phone i would be charged non returned fee for it. I asked them to share there notes with me, so that i could use them when filing a claim with USPS, she said she could not. I asked that the call be escalated and the manager proceeded to tell me that was correct and that USPS has a contact with them and they could share information directly with them. At this time she also said that the envelope was not opened, but referenced tampered claim. As requested I have submitted the claim with USPS, but we are almost at the 30 day mark so they will be passing a fee to T-Mobile and 15 days later it will be billed and they can not undo it even if USPS finds the phone. To say i am unhappy with Assurant is an understatement as they are going to charge me up to $600 for the damaged phone that i know was returned. I have been a long time custom with T-Mobile and have had a couple of claims over the years and have had no issues with the damaged phone being received by Assurant. I do not want them to pass a charge over to T-mobile for something that i know is incorrect. I am asking T-Moble to review my account and help me resolve this with Assurant.11KViews13likes37ComentariosREAD FIRST BEFORE FILING INSURANCE CLAIMS THRU ASSURANT
For anyone requesting a replacement phone for a defective phone, you may want to consider opening a lost/stolen device claim instead of a defective replacement claim. Read your insurance documents to ensure this is true for you. They are provided on the Assurant claim site when filing a claim after entering your device details. For lost/stolen claims, you'll receive your replacement for the same deductible charged if you opened a defective device claim without the responsibility of returning the defective device back to Assurant. By responsibility, this means being responsible for any and all charges if the device does not make it back to Assurant. This charge for a non-returned item can be as much as half or more of thereturned device's cost if purchased brand new If you have a tier 6 device, this can end up being a surprise charge of $600 on your phone bill that you'll be responsible for paying as Tmobile or any phone carrier using Assurant for the services can do nothing about except shut off your services if you refuse to pay. So to make all those monthly insurancepayments worthwhile, do yourself a favor and never file a claim to replace a defective device. Always file the claim for a lost/stolen device.6.2KViews3likes5ComentariosAssurant robbed me for my money.
I have about 3 devices under assurant protection with t mobile. I ended up damaging a screen on one and filed a claim. while waiting for them to send me one in the mail. I had an unfortunate event and got the device stolen, being cracked and damaged it doesn't hold any value anymore. I called assurant to see if they could help me out since I didn't have the original device no longer and pay a higher deductible since I wouldn't be able to return the old one. They declined to help me and stated if i wasn't able to return the original device they would charge me full price for the replacement.. Note they had already charged me $100 for the deductible and now they were also going to charge me the price of a new galaxy note 8 when its not even new ( its refurbished) which doesn't have the same value as a brand new note 8. They declined to help knowing I still owe $400 on my original. I paid over $500 just on insurance this year and the one time i decide to use their service, I end up in a dilemma where its either I use my insurance and end up with my original phone balance and pay on top another $600 for a refurbished note 8 when all assurant has or had to do was cancel my claim or change it from broken to stolen claim. I am more than glad to pay the deductible of a stolen device but assurant has also declined to do so. I am not happy with the way management dealt with my claim. I angry and frustrated with assurant. I will most likely end my insurance plan on my devices because if I couldn't event get my first claim done right. They didnt seem to care at all and now I have to get a new device because I cannot afford to file a claim with assurant because instead of giving me piece of mind and having me proctected all they way instead I'm being robbed out of my money. Thanks for everything assurant!!!5.1KViews14likes20ComentariosAbsolutely Terrible Experience with Assurant - Avoid Them at All Costs!
I recently dealt with Assurant, and I cannot express how utterly disappointed and frustrated I am with their abysmal customer service. My ordeal began when I needed a replacement phone, and it took a whopping ten days for Assurant to deliver it, turning what should have been a straightforward process into a never-ending nightmare. First and foremost, their customer service representatives were a nightmare. It was as if they had no regard for the fact that I had been without a functioning phone for a week and a half. I was met with incompetence, indifference, and a complete lack of urgency on their part. Basic customer service etiquette was an alien concept to them. But the horror didn't stop there. After receiving the replacement phone, I was slapped with a jaw-dropping $500+ "no return phone fee" on my T-Mobile bill, which Assurant was supposed to take care of after I returned the damaged device. Despite my return of the phone and multiple follow-ups, Assurant is forcing me to wait through not one but two billing cycles before removing this fee from my T-Mobile bill. This careless delay in resolving the issue cost me time, energy, and significant money. I am appalled by Assurant's utter disregard for their customers' time and peace of mind. They prioritize their bureaucratic processes over the needs and satisfaction of the people they serve. It's astounding that a company with such a terrible customer service track record can operate in today's market or serve T-Mobile customers. In conclusion, my experience with Assurant has been nothing short of a nightmare. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to think twice and explore other options. Their poor customer service, excessive delays, and lack of accountability make them a company I will never ever deal with again. Save yourself the frustration and anguish, and avoid Assurant at all costs.3.8KViews13likes21ComentariosDenied phone claim mistakenly says phone not covered
My Samsung s20fe was shattered and I could not use it. I put my Sim card in a devixe I borrowed from a friend and I filed a claim on my s20fe. My claim was denied and it said " device not covered " so I contacted assurant they told me that I had to contact tmobile cause this was on their end. So I contacted tmobiles experts and they apologized and said that my it was their fault and my device was infact covered. Told me to file another claim when I tried it wouldn't let me and denied me again when I did file. Tmobile now says there is nothing that they can do because it's been over 90 days so I'm stuck paying on a phone that I don't even have and they will not send me a replacement. It happened in the beginning of December 2021 and it's now May 28 2022 still paying for the phone every month and the insurance... its ridiculous has anyone else had this kind of problem??3.5KViews3likes9ComentariosAssurant return damaged device package Empty!!
I have been a customer of Tmobile for the last 16 years and have filed 3 claims 2 damaged phones and 1 stolen. I have paid $4,608.00 in total for insurance on my devices. $42,240.00 for phone service. I am beyond upset and no is not even the amount I am erroneously being charged by assurant through T-mobile. But is the scam that assurant is able to get away with! This is my story, I accidentally damaged my phone in September and filed a claim with assurant for this phone to be replaced, my claim was approved next day and I received my replacement. I sent the damaged phone back to assurant on September 14th and received a notification it was received September 17th in their York PA warehouse. I received a letter in November stating phone was not received, so I called assurant and their Rep stated that they had actually received the phone but the package had not been scanned in. Then I get a charge on my T-Mobileaccount in December stating assurant never received their damaged device. I call assurant and again I am told the device was received but the packaged had not been scanned. I wait a week and call again and now another rep is telling me the package I sent was empty and it was received empty, so I ask why would I claim a damaged phone and then keep it. Why would I send an empty package and taken the time to tape it and mail it and track it just so I could be told package was received but it is empty so you have to pay full price for a refurbished phone replacement. This is definitely a scam and there is no way that our packages arrive empty. It makes no sense my phone was literally in pieces due to car accident who would steal a damaged phone that had no use. Please T-Mobile investigate assurant and please find another insurance provider for your customers.3.4KViews8likes32ComentariosAssurant will not let me get my screen repaired
I have a Samsung S20 FE 5G & I cracked the glass but not the screen, I went to file a claim & Assurant won't give me the option to have my phone repaired at the CPR store in town even though they said they could if I had my claim code. The difference is a New Phone at $99 deductible or repair the screen at $29, of course they want me to replace my phone but I have tons of music on my phone I don't want to lose & why can't I just get it repaired? They have given me the run around whe calling saying there's not a center in my area & then when I said there is they said they cannot fix my model, even though the store told me they can.2.9KViews2likes11ComentariosClaim Denied by Assurant - says no coverage on the date of loss provided
Here is the background of my issue with my phone claim to Assurant. January 2 of this year, I lost my phone then that night I filed a claim for this incident and provided my card details for the deductible. Two days after, I receive a denial letter through email that my claim is denied saying I have no coverage. I was surprised about this news so I logged in to my account dashboard and verified that I have been paying the 360 protection on the current month. Called Sprint support and the agent reached out to Assurant confirming that I have coverage and been paying for at least 2 years for the insurance. Come to find out that what Assurant has been receiving still is the info connected to my line is still the old phone (Note 10)that I had before I got the phone that I lost (fold 4) and that is the reason why they denied my claim. When the sprint agent came back at me, interrogating me about any evident that I have been using the Fold 4, in which this question don't make any sense since I have returned the Note 10 at least 4 months and how am I supposed to use the line if I haven't been using the Fold 4and come to find that it was a glitch on Sprint's system and fixed by putting the Fold 4 as my active device. Then I filed another claim to Assurant and again it was denied - reasondidn't have coverage on the date of loss you provided. It ticked me big time then called Sprintsupport and they said they can't do anything about it. I am sopissed to hear this from the agent - for Sprint's failure to update the phone's status on my account dashboard, and now telling me that they can't do anything about my claim even though I have been paying for the 360 protection. I am more pissed at Assurant as it seems that they don't access Sorint's website to verify if I have coverage and denying my claim twice. And I have not used the line for almost a month now trying to figure out what to do with my case. Anyone, pleasehelp!2.4KViews0likes5ComentariosAssurant phone claim..
Hello everyone, I put in a claim 1 week ago today for a replacement phone from Assurant, paying my deductible instantly via Debit Card. Has anyone else had to wait quite a while for Assurant to ship out phones, and I'm also wondering what T-mobile themselves might do in the way of a bill credit, since I'm not able to use the wireless service I'm paying for? Very frustrated considering I pay extra for P360.2.1KViews0likes7Comentarios
