NAT (Forwarding) in T-Mobile Gateway
I recently signed up for T-Mobile internet, and I am VERY disappointed that I could not even forward NATtraffic to my home security system. I saw that this was discussed 7 months ago in a previous thread, and hope the developers will notice this. The speed is great, and the same as was advertised in the chat. I would like this issue to be resolved so that I don't need to continue with Optimum (Morris Broadband).
Windows laptop can't find T-Mobile Home Internet network... but all other devices can
Just set up my gateway…working fine for the most part, but it doesn't appear in the list of available networks on my Windows 10 laptop. Phone, tablet, another laptop elsewhere in the house…the network shows up just fine on all those devices. Any idea what would cause this? TIA!Home Internet Static IP
Is it possible to get a static IP with the 5G Home Internet service? Normally I wouldn't need it but since my connection dies at least once a week I get a new IP every time my modem reboots. I work from home and whenever my IP changes I have to update some of my clients' firewalls.
How to Connect to a Consumer VPN on T-Mobile Home Internet (5G Nokia Gateway)
I am NOT paid or endorsed by any VPN company or anyone else to make this post. This is simply what works for me and my particular VPN client. I am using the Nokia 5G grey tube router, and I've seen a few posts complaining that they can't use a VPN with it. Also special thanks to the T-Mobile rep who advised me on some of this when I got the service. If you're using PIA (and this may apply to your VPN as well), click the 3 dots, go to your settings, and do the following under the Connection tab: Make sure your protocol is OpenVPN Change your connection type to TCP Change your configuration method to Static After this, close the settings, and reconnect to your VPN. If using other software, make sure to save your settings if it does not automatically do so. It may take 1-5 minutes for your IP to change to your VPN. After this, google "what is my ip" and make sure it matches with your VPN. In my case, it took about 2 minutes for my IP to completely change over, even after my VPN client connected. Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System
On the new grey 5G home internet box, when you connect to its web page (typicallyhttp://192.168.12.1/), on the Overview screen, under the Devices panel, one of the items listed is "Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System", just above "Wireless" and "Ethenet". This implies a third way of networking devices (it currently says 0 connected). I have a DecoWi-Fi 6 mesh router and was wondering if they could be interconnected by something other than an ethnet cable. Is this something that is currently implemented or is it just a planned feature for a future expansion? On their product page (https://www.t-mobile.com/isp/gateway) where it lists device features, it also says "Mesh expandable Yes", but I haven't found any details about this in the documentation.
tmobile home internet speed issues
I just got this and once or twice I got 50mbps for a minute or two but the rest of the time 1-3mbps download and 15mbps upload. Cant figure this out and not many settings to change. Been on hold for customer support for an hour yesterday and today and can't get through.. any ideas? Gracias
Just got a 5G Gateway, trying to split 2.4 and 5 ghz bands - no option, even in web UI
There doesn't seem to be an option to split the 2.4 and 5ghz wifi bands anymore? In the manual for the gate way it says you can do it in the web UI, but when I log in there is no option for it. Same in the app. I have devices that can only run on 2.4 ghz, so I really need to have thia feature... any solutions?
