I have beennoticingincreases on my monthly bill lately and called in to verify. The agent told me the extra charge is due to an international call. But guess what: I have been calling my country for years using WhatsApp VideoCall and I have never been charged, since I have unlimited data. When I google the question I realize I'm not the only one who has this problem with T-Mobile.On my first call to the billing department the agent told me that international phone calls made through WhatsApp can be charged; she issued a one time courtesy refund to my account though. Then I spoke to a second agentand then a third agent, who both blamed WhatsApp for the issue. Here is what What'sApp says on google about this known issue: "WhatsApp uses your phone's cellular connection or Wi-Fi network to send and receive messages and calls to your family and friends. As long as you haven't exceeded your mobile data allowance or you're connected to a free Wi-Fi network, your mobile provider shouldn't charge you for messaging or calling over WhatsApp" I I've been with TMobile for about 15 years, but this issue made me consider taking my business elsewhere, since I videocall Brazil everyday using What'sApp. I was offered to have put a block on international calls on my account whatI will not do since I must be able to call abroad in case of an emergency. So, in other wordsthey may keep charging me and keep blaming WhatsApp for that. Thanks God they are not the only cellular company over there!Solved35KViews5likes29ComentariosI hate that customer service is being outsourced to different countries
I'm not racist. I'm not looking down on anyone. It's just hard to speak to customer service reps from out of the US. They are limited on what they can do. Half of the time what they say doesn't end up happening how they explain. They say one thing and it's wrong. I had someone give me a whole plan and saying he'd make a request to help us upgrades phones. Nothing he said was right or true. He was a manager! I spoke to someone in the US and they explained it all to me perfectly. I wasn't happy with the results but it made sense, it was accurate information. I understoodthe details and how Tmobile worked. When I had another issue, a rep again from out the US made promises. Nothing happened how theysaid it would. I called customer service again and I got someone in the states, and again they fixed everything within mins. I hate this customer service.650Visto2likes5ComentariosGoing on a cruise...
I'm going on a cruise to the eastern caribbean and want to know if I'll be charged to use my data or make phone calls while at the various ports. From what I have previously read - I shouldn't use my phone [put it in airplane mode] while on the ship itself and that is fine. But what about while in the ports? The ports are: Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Kitts, Antigua and St. Maarten. Thanks for any input :)Solved39KViews2likes5ComentariosHow do I turn off International calling entirely on my T-Mobile phone line?
Me or one of my family members accidentally dial a international number directly from contacts which doesn't go through WhatsApp or Hangouts and unknowingly goes through T-Mobile. I want to entirely shut off the option to dial International numbers from cellular line. ¿Cómo lo hago?14KViews1like10ComentariosInternational Wifi Calls
I am trying to understand this. i was on an international call for over 3 hours. I thought since it was a WiFi call I would not get charged expensive international rates. After my call, I received a text that my call cost me $636.00.. That's $3 a minute charge. I think that is kind of outrageous for a WiFi call. Is this standard in the industry? I just want to understand this practice. if they call me do I getcharged the same or is it free because I am the one who answered the call? Help me understand how this all works to see if I need to pursue other avenues to communicate with friends abroad I have made over the years. Thank you for your time.40KViews1like13ComentariosEastern Caribbean islands

Here is an update on the previous thread of being able to receive SMS from any Greek carrier.I literally had 12 tickets opened with Tforce on twitter and 611. They promised they would escalate it. They never did. First, they said it was the sender. I gave them multiple numbers with the problem. I told them that when I switch the network from automatic to AT&T, even on wifi, messages did come through. When I told them more than one line had the problem, they asked for the second line. Their conclusion: it was the device. I used Verizon as a trial esim on my device and my friend used AT&T. No problem. And yet, T-mobile comes back with "ask the sender to check their network," "it's your device," and "line is provisioned correctly for SMS." I am horrified both at the bad customer service that refused to really escalate it to a level where it could be solved, and at myself for allowing this to happen when they kept running me around in circles.225Visto1like4Comentarios
