I am trying to understand this. i was on an international call for over 3 hours. I thought since it was a WiFi call I would not get charged expensive international rates. After my call, I received a text that my call cost me $636.00.. That's $3 a minute charge. I think that is kind of outrageous for a WiFi call. Is this standard in the industry? I just want to understand this practice. if they call me do I getcharged the same or is it free because I am the one who answered the call? Help me understand how this all works to see if I need to pursue other avenues to communicate with friends abroad I have made over the years. Thank you for your time.40KViews1like13ComentariosGoing on a cruise...
I'm going on a cruise to the eastern caribbean and want to know if I'll be charged to use my data or make phone calls while at the various ports. From what I have previously read - I shouldn't use my phone [put it in airplane mode] while on the ship itself and that is fine. But what about while in the ports? The ports are: Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Kitts, Antigua and St. Maarten. Thanks for any input :)Solved39KViews2likes5ComentariosWhy is T-mobile charging for WhatsApp international video calls?
I have beennoticingincreases on my monthly bill lately and called in to verify. The agent told me the extra charge is due to an international call. But guess what: I have been calling my country for years using WhatsApp VideoCall and I have never been charged, since I have unlimited data. When I google the question I realize I'm not the only one who has this problem with T-Mobile.On my first call to the billing department the agent told me that international phone calls made through WhatsApp can be charged; she issued a one time courtesy refund to my account though. Then I spoke to a second agentand then a third agent, who both blamed WhatsApp for the issue. Here is what What'sApp says on google about this known issue: "WhatsApp uses your phone's cellular connection or Wi-Fi network to send and receive messages and calls to your family and friends. As long as you haven't exceeded your mobile data allowance or you're connected to a free Wi-Fi network, your mobile provider shouldn't charge you for messaging or calling over WhatsApp" I I've been with TMobile for about 15 years, but this issue made me consider taking my business elsewhere, since I videocall Brazil everyday using What'sApp. I was offered to have put a block on international calls on my account whatI will not do since I must be able to call abroad in case of an emergency. So, in other wordsthey may keep charging me and keep blaming WhatsApp for that. Thanks God they are not the only cellular company over there!Solved35KViews5likes29ComentariosViajes internacionales
Reading on T-Mobile site indicates that our i-phones / mobile phones will work internationally. No set up, no additional fees. Is this true? If not, what is needed to use a phone internationally (one country in Europe) for a week. Thanks in advance.Solved14KViews0likes5ComentariosHow do I turn off International calling entirely on my T-Mobile phone line?
Me or one of my family members accidentally dial a international number directly from contacts which doesn't go through WhatsApp or Hangouts and unknowingly goes through T-Mobile. I want to entirely shut off the option to dial International numbers from cellular line. ¿Cómo lo hago?14KViews1like10ComentariosCalling a US number when they are overseas results in charge
My son called someone at their US number when they were traveling overseas. I just got a notification that T-mobile charged us $3/minute for the call… $65 for a 23 minute call between two US phone numbers. Everything I have seen here on this forum and elsewhere says this should not happen. But the customer support person I spoke with says it has always been this way. Is this true? Should I be charged for a call I make to a US number, if that person happens to be overseas?11KViews0likes13ComentariosCoverage on Royal Caribbean Cruse
Hi everyone, I will be taking a cruise to Mexico on Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas ship. I don't see it on being covered on T-Mobile's site, so I am wondering if I would have access to any sort of data on the ship and if there would be a cost associated with it. Thank you all in advance.Solved10KViews0likes8ComentariosWifi calling while outside of US
Super frustrated with this… We are in Japan now. (Have US phone numbers)My kid made some calls to US via Wi-Fi calls (which is stated in our billing) and received some calls from US (also says Wi-Fi calls on the billing) I chatted someone at customer service for over an hour and she said we will be charged for this. (25c/min) (for both incoming calls and going calls) but more I read up on it, I should not get charged when using Wi-Fi calls between two US phone numbers. Am I wrong? please advise me if you have had the same experience. we have One plan with unlimited calls. thank you.Solved9.9KViews0likes10Comentarios
