I have beennoticingincreases on my monthly bill lately and called in to verify. The agent told me the extra charge is due to an international call. But guess what: I have been calling my country for years using WhatsApp VideoCall and I have never been charged, since I have unlimited data. When I google the question I realize I'm not the only one who has this problem with T-Mobile.On my first call to the billing department the agent told me that international phone calls made through WhatsApp can be charged; she issued a one time courtesy refund to my account though. Then I spoke to a second agentand then a third agent, who both blamed WhatsApp for the issue. Here is what What'sApp says on google about this known issue: "WhatsApp uses your phone's cellular connection or Wi-Fi network to send and receive messages and calls to your family and friends. As long as you haven't exceeded your mobile data allowance or you're connected to a free Wi-Fi network, your mobile provider shouldn't charge you for messaging or calling over WhatsApp" I I've been with TMobile for about 15 years, but this issue made me consider taking my business elsewhere, since I videocall Brazil everyday using What'sApp. I was offered to have put a block on international calls on my account whatI will not do since I must be able to call abroad in case of an emergency. So, in other wordsthey may keep charging me and keep blaming WhatsApp for that. Thanks God they are not the only cellular company over there!Solved35KViews5likes29ComentariosI hate that customer service is being outsourced to different countries
I'm not racist. I'm not looking down on anyone. It's just hard to speak to customer service reps from out of the US. They are limited on what they can do. Half of the time what they say doesn't end up happening how they explain. They say one thing and it's wrong. I had someone give me a whole plan and saying he'd make a request to help us upgrades phones. Nothing he said was right or true. He was a manager! I spoke to someone in the US and they explained it all to me perfectly. I wasn't happy with the results but it made sense, it was accurate information. I understoodthe details and how Tmobile worked. When I had another issue, a rep again from out the US made promises. Nothing happened how theysaid it would. I called customer service again and I got someone in the states, and again they fixed everything within mins. I hate this customer service.652Visto2likes5ComentariosHow do I turn off International calling entirely on my T-Mobile phone line?
Me or one of my family members accidentally dial a international number directly from contacts which doesn't go through WhatsApp or Hangouts and unknowingly goes through T-Mobile. I want to entirely shut off the option to dial International numbers from cellular line. ¿Cómo lo hago?14KViews1like10ComentariosCalling a US number when they are overseas results in charge
My son called someone at their US number when they were traveling overseas. I just got a notification that T-mobile charged us $3/minute for the call… $65 for a 23 minute call between two US phone numbers. Everything I have seen here on this forum and elsewhere says this should not happen. But the customer support person I spoke with says it has always been this way. Is this true? Should I be charged for a call I make to a US number, if that person happens to be overseas?11KViews0likes13ComentariosBilled for International Calls We Did NOT Make
Fraudulent calls: One 2 min and one 32 minutecall weremade to the UK - for a WHOPPING $102!!! This is NOT correct. The family member with that phone line doesn't even know how to make international calls. What should we do? How do we get this corrected?Solved96Visto0likes1ComentarioInternational Wifi Calls
I am trying to understand this. i was on an international call for over 3 hours. I thought since it was a WiFi call I would not get charged expensive international rates. After my call, I received a text that my call cost me $636.00.. That's $3 a minute charge. I think that is kind of outrageous for a WiFi call. Is this standard in the industry? I just want to understand this practice. if they call me do I getcharged the same or is it free because I am the one who answered the call? Help me understand how this all works to see if I need to pursue other avenues to communicate with friends abroad I have made over the years. Thank you for your time.40KViews1like13Comentarios
