15 TopicsCan't receive text messages from most sources, including T-Mobile verification
Wondering if anyone else is newly having this issue. I found this thread that started two years ago but still had replies within the last four months and there doesn't appear to be a solution. https://community.t-mobile.com/accounts-services-4/why-am-i-randomly-not-receiving-texts-13397 I spent nearly an hour on the phone with tech support earlier and though we tried a ton of resets on my phone, as well as her manually changing what tower my phone is connecting to, I still cannot receive text messages from most accounts, including T-Mobile verification codes. Tech support had to text the other phone on our account so I could verify it was me. Many things require two-factor authentication these days, so I can't just go forward not receiving texts. Tech support said they would monitor my account for 48 hours, but wouldn't be able to tell if I was being sent messages that ultimately weren't getting delivered, so I'm not sure what the monitoring is going to do. I'm searching for any type of solution at this point. I feel like someone ought to be able to hit the master reset on my phone number and start from scratch. I can't imagine how a phone number could essentially be corrupted into not being able to receive texts anymore. I'm having issues with SMS, MMS, and Short Code. Only two people I know have gotten their texts through to me out of ten. Please help!30KViews5likes37ComentariosText messages are randomly delayed by up to a day
I've been seeing this off and on for months in group texts mostly, but also in direct texts as well. The problem is that text messages are often delayed by up to 24 hours and then dumped all at once into my phone. This is looking to be a TMobile issue. I'm on an iPhone 11 Pro with the latest version of iOS. To sum up: This is only with text messages, not iMessage or other messaging apps. This happens when I have a good signal and a wifi connection in my house, but it has also happened when I'm out and have only cellular, but still a good signal. The other people in group chats are spread across numerous different carriers. None of them have reported this. The usual phone troubleshooting steps (quit the Messages application, restart the phone, etc) do absolutely nothing. I checked the activity logs in my TMobile account. The text messages in question all came through at the same time according to the logs. It looks like it's somehow getting delayed inside of TMobile's system. I've missed some texts due to this that were relatively time-sensitive. I don't think I need to express my frustration at something as old and dead-simple as SMS/MMS getting screwed up like this. It also doesn't help my frustration when the browser based Places/Topics Browser is hopelessly broken and the page I'm using to write this keeps auto-scrolling down when I interact with a number of elements on the page.42KViews22likes37ComentariosGroup texts won't send
I'm having an intermittent problem where I can't send some group texts, even in an already-existing string. It just spins and never sends. It seems to be more of an issue with longer (but not exorbitantly long) messages. For example, today it wouldn't send a two-paragraph message, but then it successfully sent the shorter one I created in the same text string immediately afterward. Similarly, it wouldn't send a several-paragraph message to three people, but it would let me send the same message to them individually. When this happens, it's affects the same messages both in the Samsung messages app on my phone and in the Windows Phone Link app--and it used to happen when I also tried Google Messages--so it's not an app issue; it's likely something with T-Mobile. I was having the same problem about a month ago, then it improved. Now it's begun again. Help! I need to send group texts for a variety of reasons, and this is a real problem.16KViews3likes54ComentariosIntermittent Texts not receiving
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the inadequate service I have been experiencing with T-Mobile. As a loyal customer of T-Mobile for 16 plus years, I have encountered a persistent issue that has greatly inconvenienced me and affected my ability to communicate effectively with my customers. The crux of my complaint lies in the fact that I am not receiving all of the text messages sent to me by my customers. This deficiency in service has led to numerous instances where important messages have failed to reach me in a timely manner, resulting in missed opportunities, delayed responses, and ultimately, dissatisfaction among my clientele. I have taken various steps to troubleshoot this issue on my end, including: Verifying that my device is in good working condition and has adequate signal strength.(Samsung tech documentation) Checking for any software updates or settings that may affect message delivery. Contacting individual customers to confirm whether they have indeed sent messages to me. Despite these efforts, the problem persists, indicating that the issue lies with T-Mobile's network or infrastructure. As a business owner/individual who relies heavily on efficient communication, I cannot overstate the significance of this matter. Not only does it impact my productivity and ability to serve my customers, but it also reflects poorly on the quality of service provided by T-Mobile. Therefore, I kindly request that T-Mobile thoroughly investigate this matter and take the necessary steps to rectify the situation promptly. Specifically, I would appreciate: A detailed explanation of the root cause of the problem. Immediate action to address any technical issues within T-Mobile's network that may be contributing to the message delivery failures. Compensation for any losses or damages incurred as a result of this issue. Furthermore, I urge T-Mobile to implement measures to prevent similar issues from arising in the future, thereby ensuring a consistently reliable service for all customers. I trust that T-Mobile values its customers and is committed to providing the highest standard of service. I look forward to a swift resolution to this matter and to restoring my confidence in T-Mobile as my service provider. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information or clarification.73Visto0likes1ComentarioText Messages that come delayed for up to 4 days or Not At all.
Hi We have a Samsung A32 5g (pervious issued phone was an A22) and anGalaxy S21 Ultra 5G. T-Mobile Corporate (CS) sent us to the store to get (free) new sim cards due to an ongoing issue with our phones due to the INABILITY to send and receive on time text messages since before Aug 2021,(when I had an A22) This is only with text messages. This happens when I have a good signal and a Wi-Fi connection in my house, but it has also happened when I'm out and have only cell signal with GREAT SIGNAL. We have tried it with other carriers with people, and it still doesn't work all the time. The usual phone troubleshooting steps (quitting the Messages application, restartingthe phones, hard resets, brand new phones, even different messaging apps) do absolutely nothing. I should add FaceBook messenger works, but meh. We checked the activity logs in ourT-Mobile account, and the read, delivered, and sent, in the APP it self. which doesn't always work. It's been confirmed many times now thatT-Mobilesees the delays and missed messages. To fix this problem we got a free sim card at the store. (we have done all the technical work with T-Mobile Tech Support at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tier Levels, AND having them E-mail the Engineers 2 times.) Which we NEVER received any information back about. In fact they closed the trouble ticket and marked it as resolved! I had to ask about it.We are 16+ year customers and I am no longer recommending T-Mobile to our friends and Family. UNFORTUNATLEY for them, T-Mobile'sCorporate Store tried to give him 3 different sim cards and after THEM calling corporate, it got the PHONE basically bricked, and unusable after TRYING too many times. Got him Flagged by the FRAUD DEPARTMENT. Told him he would have to wait an hour for it to come back to working. FOUR HOURS LATER, it's not working still. So on call to the Call to CS. SoIwas on the phone with then for 1 hour and 56 mins to tell me the FRAUD department does ONLY emails and it wouldtake 24-48 hours for them to get a response, for them to call me and TRUST that them after everything. There is no number and no transfer ability for customers or CS to call them. So no phone for 24-48 hours? After we have been taking our time patience, and gasoline to fix this issue. This is a Corporate Store that LET him leave the store without fixing their mistake. I will be filing a report on the store with T-Mobile, Because you let a customer leave without fixing his problem and making it worse. This should have been simple. I should also mention he went back and forth to the store TWICE to resolve this issue. starting at 10am, on 3/19/22. We do not feel we where given the attention, dedication, and service that we deserve as customers, let alone people. This may end up with us ending our history with T-Mobile as Customers. 16 years of loyalty to end up this way.5.1KViews4likes8ComentariosIphone XR not receiving group texts when on WiFi, after switching from AT&T
Hi all. Posting to help others after spending weeks debugging this problem. I recently ported my parents' iPhones from AT&T to T-mobile Connect. My mom's phone worked fine. My dad's phone mysteriously stopped receiving our family group text messages. Further testing revealed the problem only occurred when the phone was connected to WiFi. And specifically, only when my sister or her husband (Android users on AT&T) were included in the group message, either as senders or recipients. I went through exhaustive testing with T-mobile tech support (many times with many agents), checking all the settings, etc. and even brought the phone back to factory settings at the Apple Store genius bar. No luck. Went to a T-mobile store and replaced the sim card. Still no luck. I then spent a long, dark night of the soul pouring through forums when I came across a couple of tidbits in forums for other carriers. After playing with the following two settings, a miracle occurred and the phone finally works after weeks of frustration. 1). Log into the T-mobile site, click "My T-mobile" at the top, choose "My Profile" and toggle all of the Blocking Controls and Family Controls, on and off again, waiting a few minutes with them on before leaving them all turned off. (I did this a few times.). 2). On the iPhone, go to Settings->Cellular and turn off "Wi-Fi Assist." It's waaaay near the bottom - scroll down below the giant list of apps. (Note that on my own Iphone, that setting is found in Settings->Mobile Data) Reboot. I can't say which of the above solved the problem or if the universe finally took pity on me. But the problem seems to have disappeared. Here is one last thing to try. When a phone is ported from one carrier to another, apparently it's possible for the profile to not be completely released from the former carrier. I called AT&T last night and the agent was confident based on my description that the profile was not properly released. That turned out to not be the case, but it's something to try. Also, that agent gets credited for the "Wi-Fi Assist" suggestion above. (Thanks!) Good luck!250Visto2likes1ComentarioHow can view billed and unbilled MMS logs for my account?
I see the options for viewing text and call logs, but I don't see any options for viewing MMS (picture/group texts.) The system displays a monthly totals for them, but unlike texts and call logs, it doesn't give any details, like numbers sent to or received from.486Visto0likes6ComentariosIs my phone not receiving texts properly?
My 2nd line has incoming texts listed in the usage overview that show up almost every other day for over two years. The person who has the line says they have never received any texts from thesenumbers. They are always incoming texts, usually grouped within ten minutes of each other and come from numbers with strange area codes. Is it possible for this many texts over such a long period of time to not be delivered, even though the person is getting all of their other messages normally? The numbers are as follows: (959) 800-0301 Thomaston, CT (507) 748-0008 Fulda, MN107Visto0likes2ComentariosInternational Texting -- iMessage vs. SMS/MMS
With my plan, I get unlimited 2G data and texting while traveling internationally. I am wondering about the "texting" part of this. Does it matter whether I use iMessage or SMS or MMS? There are options in settings for all of these. Should I have them all on? Gracias.8.5KViews0likes8Comentarios
