Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra here. Yesterday I started to have a problem sending and receiving text messages. I would send messages and they would go through hours later, same for receiving. Hi! I have been a T-Mobile customer for approximately 2 weeks. When I first transferred my service from Verizon, I was receiving all of my text messages. Two days after switching, all texts stopped from people outside of T-Mobile. I can send text messages and people receive them but I cannot receive text messages from anybody with another carrier, and I cannot receive MMS messages from T-Mobile users. When I contacted customer service, they directed my issue to engineering who responded that I needed a new sim card. I went into the T-Mobile store, got a new SIM, which did not make my text messages push through. So, they thought that it was a device issue and I purchased a new Pixel 4A. The issue still is not fixed. When I re-contacted customer service, they put another request for the engineers. My text messages pushed through approximately 3 to 4 days later. Then I stopped receiving messages again and it was pushed back to engineering. A few days after that all of my text messages came through and I had messaging for about 5 days. Yet again, my messages stopped. Engineers' response was that I need a new phone. I'm not quite sure how that would fix this issue because I already did get a new phone with a new SIM card and that didn't fix the messaging issue. There appears to be a network store and forward message transmission delay occurring frequently with text messages. Several of my contacts I frequently text with will send me text messages that will not hit my inbox for many hours up to days later. It's like they're caught in some buffer that stores them and sends them all at once as several blocks appear in a second, time date stamped several hours to days earlier. My physical location doesn't change so I doubt the problem is on my end however my phone is of the type you cant take the battery out of so who knows what's running on it. My wife and I both have Pixel 7 Pro phones with the latest updates installed. We are both in a group text with 2 other people who both have iPhones on Verizon. We'll call themBob and Sue for context. Two nights ago, she received a message in the group text from Sueand I did not. Looking at usage reports on T-Mobile it shows a record on my wife's account of the message from Sue's number but looking at my account it does not. Today, I received a message in the group text from Sue and she did not. Again, looking at usage reports I see the message on my account but not on her account. Based on this, I am assuming that this is NOT something with our phones as T-Mobile systems don't even show these messages in the usage reports. I'd contact support but I'm not sure it would get anywhere and likely they would pass the blame to the other carrier or say it was our phone or the senders phone. Thoughts? I just switched to T-Mobile (October 2023) and I cant send or receive MMS/group text messages over WiFi. My WiFi has to be OFF and mobile data turned ON for me to send/receive MMS group text messages. (no other combination of the two work other than that) Never had a problem with this on Verizon! And everything i've read so far says this is still a persistent issue (I remember i had this issue on t-mobile back in 2013). I've been using Samsung S series devices. Currently on my Note10. Users elsewhere are reporting incoming email messages to tmomail.net aren't being delivered and apparently this has been going on for the past couple of days. I can confirm the same issue with multiple T-Mobile phones. I was making some updates to my device layouts and when testing the PTN associated with my tablet from another number, I noticed the text did not arrive. I double checked the number. I remembered then that I had 5G enabled on the device since it is primarily used for data only and tried an additional text. Still not delivered. The device had been "idle" on Wi-Fi, so the connection essentially "timed out" unbeknownst to me. I restarted the tablet, and the texts sent several minutes before came right through. I bust out laughing in frustration… Note: After X amount of time if your "data connection"(uplink to network) is not "refreshed"(Restart device, Toggle Airplane Mode, Place a Call, Use data on your end) then that communication sent to your device (voice/SMS/MMS/voicemail/data) will NOT be delivered to your device. I sent texts and left voicemails that never made there way to my device. Do I need to spell out the disaster this is - and the sad part is most people are not tech savvy, corporate shills, and/or iPhone users and have no idea this is happening. (The audacity to try and raise prices…) This issue has persisted for several years at this point; I first noticed the problems around the ~ S20 FE. Since this time a plethora of videos and posts both knowingly and unknowingly have been shared regarding the matter. The Issue: If you have 5G enabled on any device you will intermittently loose connection with the network/tower by way of transmission with voice/SMS/MMS/voicemail/data not being delivered to your device; often times unbeknownst to you(signal will show connected - other times SOS emergency calls only may appear). *This is not attributed to known technical limitations that have existed since cellular technology was introduced(signal interference, building materials, congestion, location, time of year, phone case, user error, device software/hardware(known bugs), etcetera) *These issues NEVER happened with prior generations of cellular technology. I never had to guess whether or not my device was connected, the signal software could be trusted, moreover, I never had to worry about the receipt of voice/SMS/MMS/Voicemail being delivered to my device, even when "off network"(roaming) a voicemail still would delver once the device reconnected to the network. *iPhone users mostly communicate with other iPhone users(blue bubble). iMessage works on a data connection (Wi-Fi or Mobile data). iPhone is not using SMS/MMS the same way Android users do. Cellphone users spend less time talking (voice) and more time texting(iMessage/Facetime; SMS/MMS; Other apps). "I called you" "I texted you" "911" "I called to offer you the job" "The hospital called so and so has been hurt" "I left you a voicemail before I took my last breath" just a few scenarios you won't even know took place because A) it never made it to your device B) people will assume you didn't answer/respond. Ignoring them, etcetera. I saw similar complaints on other carriers, so I don't believe it to be specific to T-Mobile's network, however, I haven't researched enough to know if it's a technology issue with 5G in general or specific to Magenta. Point being, it should not be happening. The current fix I have found for reliable voice/SMS/MMS/voicemail is to disable 5G on my cellular phones, and only use 5G on my data specific devices since getting SMS/MMS on them isn't my main use for them. I just thought it was funny to see the issue is STILL present. I've ran tests in multiple locations over different time periods. This isn't a SIM card issue. Unsure if it is hardware related at the SOC level/5G but again, the same SOC does not have these issues with 5G turned off. Somehow the devices are losing connection/timing out/idle when 5G is enabled causing the lack of transmission of voice/SMS/MMS/voicemails and needs to "reconnects" before these transmissions are delivered to your device. The issue is if you are unaware of this, you don't know it is happening. Don't let people gaslight you. I raised this issue internally directly as an internal customer, and externally as an external customer - Management is aware. Engineers are aware. I'm sure there are more technical jargon to explain why the packets are not being sent to the device and why it only sends with a connection "reboot".251Visto1like4ComentariosJust about done with Tmobile
Im so done with Tmobile!! Ive been with them for at least 10 yrs andthe last probably 4 years ive had issues with texts not being sent or received. this has happened on 2 different phones. ive used different messaging apps. ive reset my phones. ive been on the phone with tech support numerous times with no help. who knows how many texts ive missed from people. sometimes i will send a pic along with a message and only the message is received. my mother thinks im ignorning her or worse, something has happened to me because i wont get any of her messages UNTIL i text her. its like it resets the lines. all will be fine for a couple weeks then it starts all over again. i dont have any issues with people who have iphones (i have the Samsung ZFold4, previously had the Note8) and as far as i know, it only happens with certain people (however i didnt receive any of the texts walmart sent about a delivery arriving). I recently switched my line from AT&T Prepaid to T-Mobile prepaid. I discovered today that for at least the past two weeks my phone has not been sending text messages (or mms), although they appear to have been sent successfully. I've also haven't been receiving all my calls and voicemails left for me. Upon contacting T-Mobile support via online chat, I was met with a refusal of the first representative to help resolve the issue and automatically assumed the problem was my device. He kept insisting that I go to a t-mobile store even though I let the rep know I just tried and failed to send a text from a different device using my SIM and it also showed as successfully sent but was never received by the other party. T-mobile also charged my card a day early from the date stated they would (stated Feb 20) and will not refund my money as I was going to switch back to my previous carrier today to avoid any more of these issues with t-mobile37Visto0likes1ComentarioHow is it possible that Texting via all forms of data isnt working?
Text messages are not working for me (I am receiving sporadically but they are not sending according to multiple Messaging Apps) I'm not a network pro, but if I have WiFi working, Mobile Data working (I can post this question, for instance using my fold), how the heck are texts not finding a way to send? Tried SMS, WiFi calling on/off, RCS on/off, mobile data on/off, and all permutations. Even restarted the device. Duration thus far: 2 hours. Is there an authentication glitch on the TMobile Network? I live in the middle of a big city, I thought 5G meant that there was some tiny amount of robustness and redundancy. Is there some other dependency I do not know about that would mean out going texts fail despite full internet access? The fact this can happen with internet working seems unacceptable especially given thepremium prices. VM is also unavailable to access. There's shockingly little live outtage communication on this website or via support, which is unhelpful. Though it is easy to see the problem affects many others. If I were an enterprise customer something like this would seriously damage my faith in the network stability and redundancy best practices. If there is some otherdependency that often lacka backup (such as authentication) then there should have been a communication on the front page of the site detailing the issue and expected time to fix. These should be considered some of the most basic, barely adequate, business practices, in my opinion, and doubly so for a utility company.187Visto3likes4Comentarios
