155 TopicsMassive down payment means t-mobile wants to pay me!
I don't usually post on forums bet I felt it necessary in this situation. I am a long term sprint customer (now tmobile obviously) I had leased a galaxy s20 ultra through sprint. The lease term was 18 months. In January of 2022 the lease ended. It is now March so naturally I would like to upgrade so I'm not paying $60 a month towards a phone that is already paid off but needs to be returned. So I tried today to upgrade to the galaxy s22 ultra. Online it told me it was going to be a$500 down payment. I never had to put money down for a phone in the past. My credit is good and I understand tmobile is getting rid of the leasing program (good riddons) but the $500 down payment caught me off guard so I called... after talking to 4 different sales reps, they all told me that my down payment was actually going to be$920!However, there is a promotion for the s22 ultra right now for $1000 dollars off! Oh wow that's perfect I thought. Well I thought wrong because even after the promotion which brought the phone downfrom $1300 to $300, they still want $920 down... so basically, I will be paying $920 for a $300 phone in which case tmobile will pay me monthly to a total of $620. What. The. Eff. Can someone please explain this to me.16KViews0likes14ComentariosCan't upgrade my phone online - why?
Has anyone else experienced this?I have a Galaxy S7 Edge and my husband has a Galaxy S7. We also have an old plan (Simple Choice). We are finally ready to upgrade our phones to the S21, but when I try to do it online, I can't. Everything starts out fine. The initial screen says both phone are eligible to upgrade; when I get to the screen to pick which phone to upgrade, it still seems fine, but once I select the phone to upgrade the next screen says I'm not eligible to upgrade and need to call or come to the store to finish the order. This is really frustrating because I am trying to avoid that ridiculous $20 service charge they have now. I should be able to upgrade my phone online, without getting charged a fee. And while I'm ranting, I should also be able to get a deal on a new phone without having to add a line. I don't need a third line. We just need the two lines and should be able to get the buy one get one, without adding a third line. Anyone have any insight before I break down and call. Hopefully I won't go off on the customer service rep too badly. Thanks for the help.13KViews1like7ComentariosWhy charge a upgrade fee?
I know when you go to a store to purchase new plan or upgrade phone they charge you a 35.00 fee for each phone you upgrade. When you plan on doing 4 or more phones that fee should be waived or adjusted to a flat fee of 80 or 100.00? But what if you do it online through the website and have the devices shipped to you. Does that fee still apply? I am trying to way out my options before I upgrade my currents devices? Its not tike they have to do much work. The Phones transfer all the info for you. All the store reps have to do is scan the new phones and the required info for their service to know what phone you have and what line its too. and then the Samsung phone will switch all your information over tot he new phone. Hi - I was thinking about upgrading my phone and when I spoke with the associate I was told the cost would be ~$70. On the website, the phone listed was $0 down so I asked what went into that cost. They responded with and upgrade charge ($20) and taxes. The phone is listed on the website at $162 and the state I live in has a 1% sales tax so I am just curious what other taxes are included that would make up the difference?10KViews1like3ComentariosNO PICK UP @ STORE OPTION ONLINE...?!
I set up my account online and placed my order online to pick up my phone at my local store. Then when I'm trying to either upgrade and also add a line its only giving me the option to have the items shipped and doesn't give the option for me to pick up at my local store like it did before….VERY AGGRAVATING!!! Been trying to do this for the last 2 days or so. And I've only hadmy account open for the last 2 days….!!!!8.5KViews0likes3ComentariosCan I upgrade my phone even if I'm under someone elses plan?
I'm currently under my father's plan but I want to upgrade my phone. I can't pay off the phone in full as of yet but I want to make monthly payments for the phone. Is there a way for me to have my credit card information saved under my dad's account so that t-mobile will only charge my card for the monthly payments?8.3KViews0likes1Comentariounable to purchase a phone online. Anybody else dealing with this issue recently??
I have tried five different devices and different browsers and I still can't purchase a phone online. I get as far as the trade in and when I press skip trade in the screen just loads to a white page. I've been trying for days and still not able to get anywhere. I just want to purchase a new phone without having to call or go into a store.6.9KViews4likes7ComentariosWhat does this "server error" message mean?
I'm trying to upgrade my phone, and I keep encountering the same error. I've run into it on both the phone app and the desktop site. In my account, I click "upgrade". It lets me choose the model I want, the color/ memory size, and the payment options (so far, so good). When I click the next "upgrade" button, it tells me to select which of family members is getting the device. Ok, cool. I select myself. My new device requires an upgraded insurance policy. There's only 1 button: "Yes, protect my plan." It's... weird that I can't opt out of this charge, but I planned to insure it anyway, so ok. I click the button. And this is what I get. I've been trying to upgrade since last Friday, but this is what shows up every. single. time. Is there a known issue with this functionality? Or is something amiss with my account? And why am I forced to pay for the insurance? Shouldn't there be a "No thanks" button or something?Solved6.1KViews1like12ComentariosTrade-in offer costed me more?
To provide you with some background, I dont trade in my phone unless it's like an insane deal. I saw a deal on May 8, 2021 that looked something like this: T-Mobileis offering theiriPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro MaxwithUp To $830 Off(via 24 Monthly Bill Credits) with aQualifying Device Trade-In. Available Phones (prices before applicable trade-ins or bill credits): Apple iPhone 12 minifrom $729.99 Apple iPhone 12from $829.99 Apple iPhone 12 Profrom $999.99 Apple iPhone 12 Pro Maxfrom $1099.99 Eligible DeviceTrade-in Value(must be in good condition): Get up to $830 off: Apple: iPhone 11, XS, XR, X, 8 I was had and iPhone 11 at the time and saw that I pretty much…don't have to pay like anything other than possibly activation and what not. That same day, I went to the Tmobile store downstairs from me and spoke w/ sales rep and I asked him at the start, do I have to pay anything today or over the next few months? and he said "you don't have to pay anything withthis trade-in". I was like…this is awesome, I'm about to walk out with a 1:1 trade-in. So after ringing everything up at the register, the I offered to pay ANYTHING that same day and the rep said I didn't have any outstanding charges and even said that I could get a new case with it. I have my new phone now and I didn't even have to pay a thing. First bill that came after was $8.54 more. Then the next and the next and all the bills after. The only difference I see on the bill? Under "Equipment" it says I received T574 2021 Apple Trade P6 of $26.05. These numbers and codes are gibberish to the average consumer and where are these numbers even coming from? I contacted support after a couple months after realizing this will be reoccuring for god knows how long…I attached the customer support's response when I asked them to clarify the charges: WHERE ARE THESE NUMBERS COMING FROM? The receipt I received said NOTHING about any of these. I fail to comprehend what this customer support is trying to explain. Nothing about these things were written anywhere a customer could see. I understood that I would have possibly received monthly credits but I also had offered to pay upfront any future charges. EITHER WAY, $830 trade-in credit? Nope. According to this customer rep, I owe a lot more and the reoccuring +$8.54 lasts for 24-months. This is absurd. Please correct me if I am interpreting the deal in error. Even if the deal was executed in this way, the sales rep shouldn't have denied any additional charges and could have at least explained these things to me when I had asked????????5.1KViews0likes5Comentarios
