I am trying to lock my WiFioutput to only the 2.4 Ghz band and turn off the 5.0 Ghz band. I see where to select this in the App, where it gives three options: Automatic, 2.4 and 5.0. I select 2.4, it confirms my selection, and goes offline 90 seconds and says the change was successful. But when I look at my WiFi output, it still shows it as Automatic with both bands selected. It won't shut of the 5.0 band. Problem is, some of the devices on the far side of the house like ROKU which work on both bands will lock on to the 5.0 which barely has a signal and will ignore the stronger but slower 2.4 signal. I need to shut of the 5.0 signal completely so only the 2.4 signal will work, and this new gateway will not do that. My old Arcadyan gateway did this just fine. I even tried creating a second WiFi network, but that did the same thing.88Visto1like0ComentariosWifi extenders disconnect from 5G gateway
I own 2 different wifi extenders, a TP-Link AC1900 (RE550) and a NETGEAREX2800. Both werked flawlessly with my Starlink router and with my Omada router when Starlink was in bypass mode. However, immediately upon starting usage of my new 5G T-Mobile gateway, the extenders periodically lose connection with the internet. Sometimes, when I connect to an extender, there is a 5 second delay and then the internet somehow comes on. Other times, it takes over aminute or two. This is unacceptable as I have smart devices dependent on these extenders and they regularly lose connection with the internet. Since this issue only started with the T-Mobile gateway I can only conclude it's a T-Mobile issue. Anyone have any thoughts before I return my gateway and cancel my test drive service?132Visto0likes5ComentariosAdding a RJ45 wired extender
(1) Is it possible to connect a RJ45 wired extender to the T-mobile gateway and run to the lower floor. Our ceilings have a old heated mesh (disabled) that prevents the signal to go from floor to floor. (2) Does the T-mobile gateway port send power thru RJ45? I would like to add the following UniFi U6 (see link) if it will work. https://techspecs.ui.com/unifi/wifi/u6-enterprise Thank you, Jerry34Visto0likes0ComentariosGaming Wifi Extender
So, I live in a one story house with some buddies and we got a TMobile Home Internet Router in the middle of the house to help provide everyone with a decent connection. I'm on the far left side of the house behind walls and doors and when I game on my PS5 the wifi sucks, but when I put my PS5 in the room with the router and connect with an ethernet cable it works fine. I'm wondering what extender I can get that can wirelesslyconnect to the router to boost the signal to my side of the house then I can connect an ethernet cable to that extender to get a good connection for gaming.Solved386Visto0likes6ComentariosTplink RE200 doesn't see 5G network
I have an TP Link RE200 range extender. When searching for networks to extend, it successfully finds the 2.4g signal from the TMobile 5g gateway. Even if I go into the Tmobile gateway app and add a separate 5G specific network, the RE200 doesn't see that 5G network. The RE200 does see other 5G networks in the neighborhood, just not the one from the Tmobile gateway. Is there a setting somewhere that might let the RE200 to see the Tmobile gateway's 5G network? Or can someone recommend an extender that definitely recognizes and connects to the Tmobile gateway's 5G network? I am looking for recommendations on the best Wi-Fi extender for the 5G home Gateway. I have both a TP Link RE 220 and a Netgear EX3700. They both fail to connect due to MAC address issues… even though they work fine with my current modem/router. I am looking to move away from my Xfinity service but need a Wi-Fi extender in my garage to connect some of my outdoor enabled devices. ¡Gracias!29KViews1like24Comentarios
