Re: Enhanced Caller ID
Can confirm same problem on my S22 Ultra. In fact, this problem has been prevalent for months. Didn't work on my S20 Ultra either. Out of curiosity, are the people who are having problems using unlocked phones or T-Mobile locked phones? My phone is unlocked. Bought from Samsung website directly. CSC is XAA/XAA/XAA/TMB. This is synonymous with U1 (unlocked) firmware. Maybe it only works on U firmware (firmware with carrier features baked in), phones bought straight from T-Mobile? Only U1 firmware has Smart Calling and Device Security available on it. T-Mobile removes these features on their firmware so that they can offer their own services at cost. I bet that's the reason why it won't enable. It probably looks for a setting baked into T-Mobile firmware that proves its authenticity and it's just not available in unlocked firmware regardless if you use a T-Mobile sim. XAA = USA TMB = T-Mobile Would also appreciate if somebody with this feature working on their Samsung Galaxy phone could comment indicating so. Note: To check the type of firmware you have, go to Settings > About Phone > Model Number > SM-XXXU or SM-XXXU1. That U or U1 designation isn't changed even after carrier unlocking your phone. If you bought your device direct from a US carrier, guaranteed it has a U designation. Buying direct from Samsung comes with U1 unlocked firmware. The only way to change your firmware is to flash it. Flashing to official U or U1 firmware doesn't require root but it will wipe your data and reset your phone completely. See XDA for more support on how to do this. Especially if you want Smart Calling available only through unlocked firmware. Note: Recommend setting up your device without Sim Card inserted the first time you turn it on. After initial set up, you can then turn device off, insert sim card, turn back on. Through this method, you'll avoid pre-installation of all the bloatware that comes with carrier CSC's. This method is only relevant to U1. U firmware has the bloatware baked in.3Visto0likes0Comentarios
