Setting up your new gateway. 

The T‑Life app is the easiest way to set up your new gateway. You can also check your signal strength, monitor connected devices, update your network name or password, and more. Obtén la app para comenzar.

You’ll need a T‑Mobile ID to log in to the app. Be sure to have your T‑Mobile phone number handy, or if you don’t have one, plug in your new T‑Mobile Gateway to set it up.

Tip: Use the same network name and password as your old UScellular device to auto‑connect your devices—just turn off the old device before setting up your T‑Mobile Gateway.

      • During congestion, T-Mobile Home Internet customers may notice speeds lower than other customers and further reduction if using >1.2TB/mo. due to data prioritization.
    • The T-Life app makes setup easy by guiding customers to place the gateway in the best location, such as near a window or on an upper floor or bookshelf, and allows customers to check signal strength, manage connected devices, update network settings, and more.

    • Yes! T-Mobile will be shipping you a new Home Internet Gateway device to your verified home address.
    • The T-Mobile 5G Gateway combines a 5G receiver and Wi-Fi router into one compact and modern design.
    • Once you’ve successfully set up your new T-Mobile Gateway, you will no longer need any of your old UScellular devices (includes indoor or outdoor modems, Wi-Fi routers (e.g., eero 6), and accessories).

    • Your UScellular router and service will be discontinued 30 days after your account has been moved to T-Mobile. You will need a T-Mobile 5G Home Internet gateway to stay connected. We need your address to know where to ship the new device to you at no cost.
    • Once you have provided your shipping address, we will be able to send you a new T-Mobile 5G Home Internet gateway at no cost to you. We will ship it as soon as your account is moved to T-Mobile.
    • We will begin moving accounts with Home Internet service are moving now and will continue to move them through Summer 2026. We'll contact you with details and support information once the move is complete.

Equipment, Setup & Installation

    • The gateway you receive will automatically work on our network with your current rate plan.
    • To identify your T-Mobile gateway, check the sticker on the bottom or back of the device for the model name/number (e.g., Arcadyan KVD21, or G4AR/G5AR) or view in the T-Life app
    • Once you get your new T-Mobile gateway, plug it in and open the T-Life app. Follow the steps, which include inputting the phone number listed on your gateway’s screen.

    • The T-Mobile 5G Gateway is for indoor use only and includes advanced 5G technology and antenna design for improved coverage. Use the T Life app for guided assistance setting up your 5G Gateway in the ideal location.

Performance, Coverage & Setup

    • T-Mobile Home Internet uses fixed wireless technology, meaning they connect your home to nearby cellular towers instead of using cables or fiber lines.
    • For the best speeds, place your Home Internet Gateway in an area of your home with the strongest cellular signal. The Placement Assistant in the T-Life app can help you find the ideal location. Typically, this will be near a window or high up on an upper floor or bookshelf.
    • Yes—some T-Mobile Home Internet plans include a mesh device to help extend Wi-Fi coverage, which can be especially helpful for larger or multi-level homes. When you move to T-Mobile, a mesh device isn’t included automatically.
