Small businesses are the economic heartbeat of our nation. Managing a small business is challenging enough - with overseeing everything from payroll to IT. When the pandemic hit, consumer behavior changed overnight. Small business owners were forced to reimagine their plans in an unpredictable environment.

I have been amazed to see the resilience and innovation among small businesses, many of which have come back stronger and with more capabilities than ever before. Many have embraced a new generation of digital tools that make it easy to build a website or POS system affordably. Fitness centers have adopted ongoing virtual classes. Boutique shops have created e-commerce tools. Restaurants have developed contact-free delivery and pickup options. It's really inspiring to see these companies pivot to meet their customers' needs, and to do it safely.

But just as small businesses are starting to get back into a post-pandemic groove, they have been hit with a new challenge: inflation. With expenses going up everywhere, small businesses are being forced to switch gears once again. According to a recent survey from small business advocacy organization SCORE, nearly two-thirds saw their profits decline over the last six months. And more than half are experiencing higher utility and gas costs, rendering forecasts and business plans from just a few months earlier obsolete.

And even with inflation on the rise, it wasn’t exactly surprising to see that Verizon and AT&T recently hit customers with price increases. Verizon added a new “Economic Adjustment Charge,” which could potentially cost businesses an extra $1,300 more a year if they have only 50 lines with the extra $2.20 per line. Apparently that wasn’t enough, so they topped it off with an additional price increase of $6-12 per line – meaning Verizon slapped customers with higher bills twice in one month. AT&T announced it was simply “hiking prices” on business plans, some by as much as $12 a month. The Carriers aren’t helping – they are part of the inflation problem.

While AT&T and Verizon’s way of dealing with inflation has been to take more from customers, resulting in, according to their CEO, at least an additional $1.2B a year in revenue for Verizon alone, T-Mobile’s approach is just the opposite. We are giving our customers more without asking more from them – simply because we know it’s the right thing to do. In our most recent Un-carrier move, we gave customers a massive upgrade when they travel with Coverage Beyond, and we’re also promising that their rate plan price won’t go up with our Price Lock guarantee.

With business travel on the rebound, we know employees have places to go – but travel costs are higher than ever. That’s why we launched Coverage Beyond – to help travelers save money and stay connected in the air and overseas. In addition to free in-flight Wi-Fi all flight long on select flights across American, Delta and Alaska Airlines – with United to come soon – we will also be giving Business Unlimited Ultimate and Business Unlimited Advanced customers a free app to help protect their data when traveling. The Secure Wi-Fi mobile app (coming soon) automatically encrypts a user’s data while using public Wi-Fi on smartphones, so business customers are more protected everywhere on Wi-Fi.

I'm proud to say that Coverage Beyond is also helping small businesses save with free high-speed data worldwide. Now business customers on our Business Unlimited Ultimate plan can travel with the luxury of 5GB of high-speed data - with up to 5G speeds where available - in more than 210 countries and destinations. You read that right. Business customers can now replace hefty expense reports to reimburse in-flight connectivity and international roaming charges with massive savings. The way I see it? It's a whole new world for business travel.

Because we recognize the threat of inflation to small businesses, we’ve been hard at work ensuring business customers know what to expect from us with our Price Lock guarantee – our promise that we won’t raise the price of our broadband or wireless rate plans.

And right now, our Business Unlimited Ultimate plan is offered at our lowest price ever for a limited time. So, if a business has three lines on our Ultimate plan, they'll save over $1,000 a year compared to three lines on Verizon's Business Unlimited Pro 2.0 plan. That's a nice extra chunk to help fund new equipment, boost advertising budgets or show employee appreciation - right?

Besides helping businesses overcome inflation, we at T-Mobile are constantly investing in our 5G network to make it America’s largest, fastest and most reliable, and we’re continuing to put businesses first. We want them to save more and worry less. And we won’t leave customers stuck with the other guys’ termination fees; we’ve got it covered with more than $6,000 in switching costs on us when they add 10 lines. (Yes, really.)

To all small businesses out there: We see you. We get the challenges you're facing. We know how to help tackle inflation. And most importantly, we have your back - now and always.

"With one year since T-Mobile launched Hometown Grants, I continue to be amazed by the extraordinary projects that small towns are creating with our support," said Jon Freier, President, Consumer Group at T-Mobile. "As the Un-carrier, I am proud of our deep commitment to investing in communities across the country, and I'm excited to see what this next round of winners will accomplish."

Hometown Grants are provided every quarter to up to 25 towns. Every small town with a population of less than 50,000 people with a vision for how to make their community even stronger than it is today are eligible and encouraged to apply. To select Hometown Grant recipients, T-Mobile works with Main Street America and Smart Growth America, two organizations that have decades of experience helping to build stronger, more prosperous small towns and rural communities. Together, the organizations assess applications based on level of detail and completeness, potential community impact, project viability and other factors.

"The T-Mobile Hometown Grants provided to these communities represent a commitment to investing in historic assets, community gathering places, and the expansion of facilities and technologies for residents," said Smart Growth America's President and CEO Calvin Gladney. "Smart Growth America applauds these efforts as we continue to support scores of towns and cities in rural places." "We're proud to work with T-Mobile and Smart Growth America to support these innovative projects in rural communities across the country" said Main Street America's President and CEO Patrice Frey. "These grant recipients represent the creativity and passion for place we've long seen in Main Street communities, and we are excited to see how the projects positively impact these areas in the coming years."

Commitment to Rural America
Hometown Grants are part of the Un-carrier’s massive 5-year commitment announced in April 2021 to bring 5G to rural America, open hundreds of new stores and support economic development in small towns by providing $25 million in funding.

In addition, the Un-carrier unleashed T-Mobile Home Internet, wireless home broadband available to more than 40 million households – including more than 13 million households in rural areas – across the country. Just last month, T-Mobile unveiled Internet Freedom, tackling pain points that have plagued the broadband industry for years. T-Mobile is making it easier for broadband customers to break up with Big Internet, lock in their price with massive savings, and feel appreciated with great deals every Tuesday.

It’s all part of T-Mobile’s goal to ensure that all Americans — from big cities to small towns and rural communities across the U.S. — have access to all the latest products, services and technology.

LITTLETON, Colo. and BELLEVUE, Wash., June 21, 2022 — DISH Network (NASDAQ:DISH) and T-Mobile (NASDAQ:TMUS) signed an amendment to the 2020 Master Network Services Agreement (MNSA) that provides customers of DISH’s retail wireless brands, including Boost Mobile, access to T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G network.

The amendment, which will become effective upon approval by the United States Department of Justice, incorporates financial and operational changes, including improved pricing and enhanced roaming solutions for DISH 5G customers in consideration of an annual minimum revenue commitment through the remaining term of the MNSA.

"We are pleased to have reached new terms with T-Mobile that provide DISH with the ability to be more competitive and to meet our customers' evolving needs," said John Swieringa, president and COO, DISH Wireless. "DISH's 5G network now covers more than 20 percent of the U.S. population, and this amendment gives our customers enhanced access to nationwide coverage and in-market roaming while we continue to deploy our own 5G network."

"T-Mobile is building a national, Ultra Capacity 5G network with unprecedented capacity, which has put us in a unique position to support partners like DISH," said Mike Katz, chief marketing officer, T-Mobile. "While DISH customers will benefit from our network, this deal also locks in a multi-billion dollar revenue commitment for our business. It's a win-win."

DISH is committed to providing competition in the wireless market as the nation’s fourth facilities-based carrier and the company will continue to expand coverage of DISH’s 5G network.

The Term Sheet will not be effective unless it is approved by the DOJ by August 14, 2022.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — June 21, 2022 — Today, T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) announced a new partnership that makes access to T-Mobile’s Project 10Million, the Un-carrier’s $10.7 billion initiative focused on providing students free internet connectivity, even easier.

Through the collaboration, the more than one hundred thousand students who are in Big Brothers Big Sisters’ expansive network of 230 agencies across 5,000 communities will be able to learn about Project 10Million, and eligible households will now be able to more easily register for the program’s free internet and a mobile hotspot that provides 100GB of data per year for five years. Providing this access to students and their families comes at a critical moment in time: Pew Research Center currently reports that 59% of U.S. parents with lower incomes say their children face digital schoolwork obstacles and often work on public Wi-Fi because they do not have reliable internet at home.

"T-Mobile and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America are teaming up to extend Project 10Million's reach by meeting students and families where they are, through an organization and program they know and trust, ultimately giving them easier access to the tools they need to focus on their education rather than searching for reliable Wi-Fi," said Janice V. Kapner, chief communications officer for T-Mobile. "Connectivity is no longer a 'nice-to-have' for students to learn and grow - it's a necessity. And now, they will get a mobile hotspot and enough data to equal 5,000 hours of internet research or 320 hours of online learning into the hands of students in time for the upcoming school year."

"Young people have faced the realities of inequitable access to internet for far too long. Our community of mentors and volunteers have been committed to providing the support, resources and time needed to keep all kids on a path to academic success," said Deborah Barge, chief development officer, BBBSA. "We know there is power in partnership and community, that is why we are so pleased to partner with T-Mobile to provide the critical access to the connectivity necessary to empower young people and their potential."

Starting June 21, parents and guardians of eligible K through 12 grade students will find the tools to enroll in Project 10Million at www.t-mobile.com/bbbs or in-person through their Big Brothers Big Sisters match support specialist. School administrators and educators can learn more about Project 10Million and apply for their district at www.t-mobile.com/p10m.

The expanded reach and capacity of T-Mobile’s network plays a crucial role in the Un-carrier’s ability to make reliable connectivity truly accessible to students across the U.S. This includes those in urban centers, as well as underserved areas like rural America, where 14.5 million people do not have access to high-speed broadband internet according to the FCC, which underscores the need for accessible internet options like mobile hotspots.

So say goodbye to road trip woes and hit Route 66 without worry.

Four out of five Americans are expected to take a road trip this summer,1 but nothing will ruin a vacation faster than being lost with spotty service or stranded by a breakdown. With the most 5G coverage on U.S. highways and main roads – more than twice the next provider – and legendary, trusted 24-hour roadside assistance, it just makes sense these two marquee brands are joining forces. T-Mobile’s network is the one AAA can rely on to keep their members connected along miles of roads across America. And now, a fleet of AAA’s own tow trucks will be equipped with 5G-connected tablets and phones to connect AAA service drivers with consumers in need.

"We know everyone is eager to travel - over 80% of consumers are planning to take a road trip this summer. So naturally, teaming up with widely trusted AAA was a no-brainer," said Mike Sievert, CEO, T-Mobile. "This collaboration was built to help customers from both brands stay safer when they hit the road, and stay better connected with unbeatable 5G coverage across America's highways."

Access to AAA’s renowned roadside assistance is just one of many benefits T-Mobile customers will enjoy when they become AAA members. For over 120 years, AAA has proudly served its members by offering a wide array of automotive and travel services, discounts and rewards to over 80,000 retailers across the country, options for home, auto and life insurance, free identity theft protection and best-in-class financial services.

"Bringing the power of our two brands together is a game changer for consumers," said Marshall Doney, President and CEO, AAA. "AAA's unmatched suite of services and benefits paired with T-Mobile's extraordinary 5G network will give travelers everything they need to keep their road trip on track this summer and beyond."

And of course, there’s more for AAA members. AAA members can now get up to $100 via virtual prepaid Mastercard for activating a new account and switching two lines to the Un-carrier. This can be combined with other offers, like a $200 rebate for each of up to five new lines brought over to T-Mobile on a qualifying rate plan. Together, that could get you $500 for switching two qualifying lines. If they need a device along with it, they can pick from ANY of the current device offers, including deals to get a 5G phone, and save even more. Boom. Welcome to the Un-carrier.

What’s the news: T-Mobile’s latest Un-carrier move, Coverage Beyond, expands coverage and keeps customers connected on flights and in 210+ countries and destinations. Plus, the Un-carrier is giving customers a year of AAA on Us, exclusive travel discounts on T-Mobile TRAVEL, extra savings on Shell gas and more – all on T-Mobile Tuesdays. ¡Uf!

Why it matters: Travel is back, inflation is on the rise and T-Mobile is changing the travel game AGAIN.

Who it’s for: The millions of people who are looking to travel again.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — June 16, 2022 —Ready. Set. Travel! Today, T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) is taking coverage above and beyond, pushing the boundaries of their own coverage map to 30,000 feet and abroad. Introducing T-Mobile’s latest Un-carrier move, Coverage Beyond, with free high-speed data in 210+ countries and destinations AND free in-flight connectivity and streaming all flight long on the biggest U.S. airlines. And the Un-carrier is flexing its post-merger scale to negotiate exclusive benefits just for T-Mobile customers, like AAA on Us for a full year, 25 cents off per gallon of Shell gas through the week of Labor Day, and launching T-Mobile TRAVEL with Priceline to hook up customers with exclusive deals, up to 40% off select hotels and rental cars. Boom. Start packing. Because this all starts rolling out on the first official day of Summer, June 21.

And the best part? It's all free. Customers get loads more without paying a penny extra.

This news comes as Americans get back to travel after years of staycations, complications and frustrations. In fact, more than two-thirds of Americans say they’re planning to “go big” on their next trip1. And business travel spending worldwide is expected to jump more than 37% next year to over $1 trillion2. At the same time, people are watching their wallets more closely than ever, and with prices everywhere increasing, free travel benefits never sounded so good.

"Our mission is to be the best in the world at connecting customers to their world, and that means making sure your phone just works wherever you go - even if you travel beyond our signal," said Mike Sievert, CEO, T-Mobile. "We pioneered coverage in-flight and abroad, and today we're going full throttle to change the game again. This is what the Un-carrier does - hunts down pain points, smashes them, and changes the game for good."

Right now, staying connected while traveling is cumbersome at best, costly at worst and yet ever so critical. American travelers fork over an estimated $1.3 billion per year just to stay connected while flying3. Two-thirds of travelers say they worry about staying connected while traveling, with more than half concerned about paying extra abroad4. And it’s easy to see why! AT&T could charge a whopping $2050 for a single GB of data abroad in most countries ($2.05/MB) if customers don’t buy their international pass ahead of time! If Timmy streams an hour of TikTok videos, that’s a roughly $6,000 bill from AT&T. There goes that college fund, Timmy!

Today, T-Mobile is fixing that.

Coverage Beyond: High-Speed Data Worldwide

T-Mobile introduced breakthrough travel benefits with Simple Global in 2013. This changed the game with how Un-carrier customers use their phones when traveling. T-Mobile customers – including businesses – now use a whopping 60 times more data overseas than before. And today, T-Mobile is back at it again.

Starting June 21, when touching down in a foreign country, T-Mobile customers will get 5GB of free high-speed data each month, up to 5G speeds where available, in 210+ countries and destinations on T-Mobile's most popular plan, Magenta MAX, and on the Business Unlimited Ultimate plan. No passes to buy. No hoops to jump through. Sin mentiras.

This move is another first from T-Mobile, making the Un-carrier the only provider to offer this much high-speed data in this many places … over 10X more locations than AT&T and over 10X more high-speed data than Verizon.

Plus, customers get the same experience of 5GB of high-speed data in 11 European countries - Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania and Slovakia - on Magenta, most business plans and equivalent Sprint plans thanks to T-Mobile's partnership with Deutsche Telekom. Essentially, everywhere a phone says "T-Mobile" customers will get the highest speeds available for their plan.

And T-Mobile is doubling the speeds worldwide across all 210+ countries and destinations (from 128kbps to 256kbps) so customers' phones just work from the moment they touch down for things like basic navigation and email. This is in addition to the free texting customers already enjoy in those destinations. And it all comes on top of 5GB of high-speed data and free calling and texting for Magenta, Magenta MAX and eligible T-Mobile for Business customers in Mexico and Canada.

Roam on without worry.

In addition, T-Mobile for Business customers will soon get the Secure Wi-Fi mobile app, included at no extra cost with Business Advanced and Ultimate plans. Secure Wi-Fi is a set-and-forget app that, when connected to public Wi-Fi, automatically helps protect customers' data and enhance their experience on their smartphone - anywhere in the world. It's perfect for when customers need to get work done and have no choice but to use public Wi-Fi. And it's 100% on Us.

Coverage Beyond: Free In-flight Connectivity

To keep Un-carrier customers connected in-flight, T-Mobile is working with in-flight Wi-Fi providers to give customers free connectivity WITH streaming all flight long on the biggest U.S. airlines. Delta, American and Alaska Airlines will launch first on select flights starting June 21. United Airlines will follow. And T-Mobile will continue to work hard to keep customers covered on even more airlines over time.

This means T-Mobile customers are connected overseas and now in America's skyways … at no extra cost. More airlines. More flights. Full-flight connectivity. And better connectivity.

This isn’t the in-flight Wi-Fi of decades past. In addition to texting, browsing and emailing on your phone, T-Mobile customers can also stream, where available, all flight long too. Meaning customers can watch all the streaming services they get for free or at a discount with T-Mobile – like MLB.tv, Netflix, Paramount+, Philo, YouTube TV and more.

Coverage Beyond includes:

  • Free connection all flight long on EVERY flight with Magenta MAX, Business Unlimited Ultimate and equivalent Sprint plans.
  • Free connection all flight long on four flights the customer chooses per year, with a free hour for every flight after that with Magenta, Business Unlimited Advanced and equivalent Sprint plans.

Coverage Beyond: T-Mobile Customers FTW

T-Mobile's not just going full throttle on keeping customers connected, the Un-carrier is going to the mat, leveraging the post-merger size and scale of the new T-Mobile to negotiate deals for customers that they can't get themselves. All so more Un-carrier customers can get back to travel this Summer. Starting June 21 the official first day of Summer, T-Mobile will be rolling out the magenta carpet in the T-Mobile Tuesdays app.

First up, big news for road trippers. The Un-carrier is now AAA’s official wireless partner. And that means T-Mobile customers get a year of AAA on Us, with 24-hour roadside assistance, on Magenta, Magenta MAX and eligible small business plans! Driving is the #1 mode of travel – 1 in 3 people in the U.S. travelled by road for the holidays pre-pandemic5. With the most 5G coverage on US highways – more than twice the next provider – T-Mobile customers can rest easy and road trip with confidence.

Plus, now T-Mobile’s SyncUP DRIVE, which turns a car into a hotspot on wheels and monitors vehicle health, uses AAA as its roadside assistance provider. Right now, all T-Mobile customers can get SyncUP DRIVE for FREE when adding a qualifying line.

Second, to help take the sting out of rising gas prices, T-Mobile teamed up with Shell and the Fuel Rewards® program to give customers an exclusive 25 cents off per gallon of gas this summer through the week of Labor Day via T-Mobile Tuesdays.

Finally, with travel prices skyrocketing, the Un-carrier is going the extra mile to help customers save. T-Mobile tapped Priceline to launch T-Mobile TRAVEL with Priceline, a new site with travel deals exclusively for T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers. Save up to 40% and never pay full price on hotels or Pay Now rental cars, plus customers can book flights and more!

And while travel deals are advertised everywhere, thanks to the size and scale of the T-Mobile customer base, the Un-carrier was able to negotiate some travel deals so remarkable they can't be found anywhere else. Just last month, a T-Mobile customer traveling to Hawaii for 9 days stayed in Waikiki and got a $300/night hotel for just $200/night, knocking $900 off the total trip. Another stayed at a 4-star oceanside beach club in Miami and got a $551 hotel for $351 for all 6 nights.

Already, during the pilot, customers saved over 17 MILLION dollars on hotels alone in just this past year, with many saving more than $500 on a single trip. That's enough savings for an upgrade to business class or a few noise-cancelling headphones. Disfruta.

Every single T-Mobile customer, including businesses, can head to t-mobiletravel.com or the T-Mobile Tuesdays app, enter their number and get a code to unlock exclusive savings to start planning their next trip today. Easily scroll through ratings, reviews and see the T-Mobile savings in Magenta upfront. Now start saving and get packing!

Coverage Beyond? Check. Free Trips of a Lifetime? Also Check.

To celebrate all that sweet, sweet connectivity and to help jumpstart travel plans, starting June 21 on T-Mobile Tuesdays, the Un-carrier is giving away a trip of a lifetime to 10 lucky winners. Head to the T-Mobile Tuesdays app to enter for a chance to win and get ready for some epic travel experiences this year!

Oceus’ extensive experience in deploying cellular broadband in military environments, combined with T-Mobile’s 5G Advanced Network Solutions, will provide new capabilities and cutting-edge use cases for the U.S. government, including the Department of Defense (DoD).

“This is a game changer for DoD, and as an example, late last year Oceus and T-Mobile teamed up to provide a response to an urgent request for high-capacity emergency communications in support of Operation Allies Welcome (OAW),” said Callie Field, President, T-Mobile Business Group. “This provided over 6,400 DoD and interagency customers and 30,000 Afghan guests reliable use of retrofitted systems with T-Mobile’s Ultra Capacity 5G network, generating a daily average of more than 20,000 voice calls with an estimated data usage of 500 megabits per second (Mbps), and over three terabytes (TB) of average aggregate usage across the four locations.”

Jeff Harman, President and CEO of Oceus stated "T-Mobile has live 5G capacity that is unmatched, and this capacity allows our clients to securely access maximum 5G coverage. We're excited to partner further to deliver new solutions that are needed today by the U.S. government."

BELLEVUE, Wash. — June 14, 2022 — The Un-carrier feels the need. The need for speed. T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) announced today it was able to aggregate three channels of mid-band 5G spectrum, reaching speeds over 3 Gbps on its standalone 5G network. It’s the first time the test has ever been done with a commercial device (Samsung Galaxy S22 powered by Snapdragon® 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform with Snapdragon X65 Modem-RF System) on a live production network.

"This test demonstrates the incredible power of mid-band spectrum and represents another huge step forward for standalone 5G," said Neville Ray, President of Technology at T-Mobile. "Only T-Mobile is delivering a nationwide standalone 5G network to customers today, and we're blazing a trail with new performance-boosting capabilities that generate incredible speeds and deliver on our vision to create the highest capacity network in the country."

Simply stated, 5G Carrier Aggregation (NR CA) allows T-Mobile to combine multiple 5G channels (or carriers) to deliver greater speed and performance. In this test, the Un-carrier merged three 5G channels - two channels of 2.5 GHz Ultra Capacity 5G and one channel of 1900 MHz spectrum - creating an effective 210 MHz 5G channel. That's all mid-band spectrum, by the way. And over 3 Gbps of speed!

Today’s achievement is only possible with standalone 5G architecture (SA) and is just the latest in a series of important SA 5G milestones for T-Mobile. The Un-carrier was the first in the world to launch a nationwide SA 5G network nearly two years ago and has been driving toward a true 5G-only experience for customers ever since. Just this month the Un-carrier began lighting up Voice over 5G (VoNR) so ALL services can run on 5G. By removing the need for an underlying 4G LTE network and 4G core, 5G will be able to reach its true future potential with incredibly fast speeds, real-time responsiveness and massive connectivity.

NR CA is live in parts of T-Mobile’s network today, combining two 2.5 GHz 5G channels for greater speeds, performance and capacity. Customers with the Samsung Galaxy S22 will be among the first to experience a third 1900 MHz 5G channel later this year. This capability will expand across the Un-carrier’s network and to additional devices in the near future.

T-Mobile is the leader in 5G with the country's largest and fastest 5G network. The Un-carrier's Extended Range 5G covers nearly everyone in the country - 315 million people across 1.8 million square miles. 225 million people nationwide are covered with super-fast Ultra Capacity 5G, and T-Mobile expects to cover 260 million in 2022 and 300 million next year.

San Juan, Puerto Rico – June 13, 2022 – T-Mobile 5G did it… AGAIN!! T-Mobile 5G Network collected the most #1 spots for mobile network experience in the independent Opensignal report of the Puerto Rico Mobile Network Experience1. The Un-Carrier’s 5G Network leads the market in both performance and consumer experience. The study measured mobile network operators on Overall Experience, 5G Experience, Coverage, and Consistency – and T-Mobile ranked #1 in 14 of the 15 categories and won it all in Overall as well as 5G Experience. These results underscore T-Mobile’s 5G Network leadership position in the market.

"Our 5G network is delivering a great customer experience and powerful network performance. Our early bet and two-year lead in mid band 5G continues to pay off giving customers the fastest, most available 5G in the country and in Puerto Rico," said Neville Ray, President of Technology at T-Mobile. "The Puerto Rico market is hugely important for T-Mobile and this leading network experience will continue to get even better as we continue our 5G and network investment into the coming years."

T-Mobile customers experience fastest 5G download and upload speeds in Puerto Rico.
T-Mobile users enjoy the fastest 5G download and upload speeds in Puerto Rico. With an average 5G download speed of 104.6 Mbps, T-Mobile wins the 5G Download Speed award by a massive margin. It was 59.3 Mbps (130.9%) faster than second placed Liberty and 5.6 times faster than Claro's result of 18.7 Mbps. T-Mobile users also saw the fastest overall and 5G upload speeds of 9.6 Mbps and 14.5 Mbps respectively.

T-Mobile’s 5G Network results highlighted in the Opensignal Mobile Network Experience Report[1] are:

#1 in Overall Experience and in 5G Experience
T-Mobile comes out on top for all three experiential awards for both overall and 5G technologies. With a 5G Video Experience score of 66.0 points, 5G Games Experience score of 65.1 points and 5G Voice App Experience score of 78.7 points, T-Mobile earns an outstanding position in the ranking, placing it in Very Good (65-75), Fair (65-75) and Acceptable (74-80) categories, respectively.

Users Connected to 5G in Most Locations
T-Mobile emerges as the winner of the 5G Reach award, as our Puerto Rican users on T-Mobile's network observed the highest proportion of locations where they were connected to a 5G network out of all the locations they visited with a score of 8.4 points on a 10-point scale. To this, it is added that the company also topped the 5G Availability category with a score of 49.8% followed by Liberty, that is behind T-Mobile by 23.6 percentage points. This award represents the proportion of time users with a 5G device and a 5G subscription had an active 5G connection.

The report also positions T-Mobile as the indisputable winner of both the Excellent Consistent Quality and Core Consistent Quality awards.
The Excellent Consistent Quality category analyzes the percentage of users' tests that met the minimum recommended thresholds for watching HD video, completing group video conference calls, and playing games. T-Mobile wins by a margin of 0.9 percentage points over second-placed Liberty. Meanwhile T-Mobile surpassed Liberty by 1.7 percentage points for Core Consistent Quality, getting a score of 89.3%. Consistent Quality metrics quantify how often users' experience on a network was sufficient to support common applications' requirements.

“These metrics thrills us so much and drives us to continue working for our customers, connecting them to the largest and fastest 5G network in Puerto Rico and the US[2]. The combined resources after the merger with Sprint has allowed us to build a stronger network, we completed the 2.5GHz spectrum migration doubling the amount of spectrum dedicate to 5G and the results of these efforts are showing. We are providing Puerto Rico with a World Class wireless infrastructure. We are building a Network for the future, positioning Puerto Rico as a hub of technology and we won’t stop,” said Jorge Martel, Vice President and General Manager of T-Mobile Puerto Rico.

While T-Mobile recognizes that support at the national level is important and continues through partnerships with GLSEN, Happy Hippies and HRC to improve the quality of life of at-risk LGBTQIA+ community members, it’s vital to show that there is power in every single voice. Spotlighting how individuals can make an impact shows that Pride is Power.

The anti-transgender legislation making news of late is more than just a headline for the people interviewed in this spotlight. Everyone featured says that telling their story is an actionable item in the ways they want to celebrate Pride this year. It is how they are being advocates for their community, making an impact. From Seattle to Wichita to Memphis and Colorado Springs, their stories include gender-affirming treatments that they say T-Mobile's health benefits made possible, or changing chosen names on work badges and pronouns with co-workers. They're experiences that help shape T-Mobile's own advocacy practices that now include things such as a thorough transition guide and employee handbook of policies designed to create a better experience for co-workers across the company who come out as trans at work.

"Our Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) is a place where our employees can bring their ideas about how to make our workplace better for all," says Jen Palmer (She/Her), senior director of T-Mobile's Technology Project Management Office and the chair of the Pride ERG. "We take great pride in consistently looking at new ways to improve experiences. Whether it's encouraging all to add their pronouns to badges and email signatures, or recommending inclusive language on our restroom signage, or looking at our own internal systems and fixing issues that may pop up when a colleague changes their name. As we hear from our employees, we also continually evaluate our benefits to ensure they meet the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our ERG does not settle for the status quo. It's our role to champion inclusivity and continuous improvement."

Looking Forward, but Honoring the Past

Meet Haven and hear how the Pride ERG has helped empower them to live authentically at work and elsewhere.

“Sometimes I think that the Pride Employee Resource Group at T-Mobile found me just as much as I found it,” says Haven Vilminot (They/Them), an HR data analyst and non-binary/transgender T-Mobile employee in Seattle.

When talking about T-Mobile's Pride is Power 2022 initiative, it's important to remember how the company's Pride ERG began and how those simple beginnings continue to have visible effects on its members today, even for those like Haven from the newer Gen Z workforce. Pride participation at T-Mobile began as a grassroots movement before becoming an influential, company-wide commitment.

Back in 2013, some thirty employees from two call centers in Albuquerque took it upon themselves to represent T-Mobile in their local Pride parade. The news of these employees spearheading this participation traveled fast all the way to T-Mobile's headquarters in Bellevue, Wash., inspiring another hundred employees to not only march in, but also sponsor the Seattle Pride parade the following year. Today, the ERG boasts more than 13,000 members across 50-plus chapters in the country.

“For me, queer community was something that I had outside of work, but that I wasn’t able to bring into work with me, and that’s a very unsustainable way to live,” says Haven, “but T-Mobile is actually the first place that I’ve ever worked where I felt safe to be all the way out of the closet.”

Haven says one reason for that is T-Mobile is the first place where they had an openly gay boss, who connected them to resources at the company specific to the LGBTQIA+ community.

"For me, Pride Month is a moment, I think, where a lot of us like to pause and think about our history, but it is also a time where I feel particularly moved by being able to imagine futures together as people," says Haven. "For Pride Month 2022, something that I'm thinking about is the concept of taking a door off the hinges when you go through. Outside of my T-Mobile community, I find myself making sure that I am visible and out and taking that door off the hinges on my way through, so that anybody who comes after me maybe has to do a little bit less of that. We're building on it for each other everywhere we go."

I Have Community

Meet Brantley and hear how why he says trans visibility is a priority for him this Pride 2022.

Brantley Clark (He/Him) says he is many things: A partner. A girl dad. A trans man. A black man. A trans black man. And he is crystal clear how to encapsulate all that succinctly if you ask what Pride means to him.

"Progressive Individualism," he will tell you. "Those are two words that I hold during Pride."

They are two words that the global care business support manager from the T-Mobile Wichita Customer Experience Center says not only give space for the many layers of his own unique identity, but also helps to invite others who perhaps, like him, did not always feel represented under the Pride umbrella.

“There’s this epiphanic moment in June that everyone gets from a societal perspective,” says Brantley, “but I walk this journey every day, not just in June. And it’s an every day progression into the right direction as an individual.”

Brantley says when he began his transition at T-Mobile it was abundantly clear that despite the lack of support from family members, he could safely be in what he called “a long-term relationship” with T-Mobile.

"When I stepped into global care as B, as Brantley, I didn't have to bring on that past history with me," he explains. "Being in a spot where I had the financial means, the benefits, the insurance and many other supporting factors, is when it really hit home for me, and I realized that T-Mobile is a place that I could commit myself to. T-Mobile gave me the ability to control what I look like and what I presented to the world, and it really helped me to align my internal with my external, and I don't compromise that for anything."

This Pride, Brantley says he is hyper-focused on trans visibility within T-Mobile and beyond.

"I have a seat on this plane called Pride," he says. "But are we always doing the seatbelt checks to make sure everybody's buckled in? Are we making sure everybody on the manifesto is actually on the plane?"

A leader in his local Pride ERG chapter, he says he was the first trans person on the advisory council and as such feels a sense of responsibility to create a path that others can follow and join him.

"From a LGBTQIA+ perspective, there's not many examples of leaders who looks like me," he says. "Which is why my mantra this year has been we're going to do the work to get it done, even if it means that I have to be the face for people to see. What we really need to do is create equality and equity across Pride."

I am an Advocate

Meet Jason and hear how he says his T-Mobile team has advocated for him when it mattered most.

For Jason Bayless (They/Them), a Community Expert at T-Mobile’s Colorado Springs Customer Experience Center, their advocacy stems from a painful experience with a previous employer and a desire to give back to those who showed them what true advocacy looks like.

“The reason I started at T-Mobile, and it’s a reason that I hear a lot of people say that they are at T-Mobile, is because it is a place that they are able to truly be themselves,” says Jason. “Not embracing that and not stepping out of what for me personally had been a very easy bubble of just passing — that wasn’t being true to myself because I was not giving back what this company had given me, and it’s not helping to pave the way forward for other people.”

Jason became co-chair of the Colorado Spring Pride ERG chapter as a way to advocate for others. Jason's story of qualifying for hormone therapy and gender reassignment surgery and being supported by T-Mobile's benefits plan along the way is profound because of the way they felt unable to do basic things according to the gender they identified as in previous jobs.

“More than anything, it had to do with the people around me,” says Jason.

Not comfortable with being out at work previously often led to Jason being “pegged as a lesbian” because there simply were no open conversations about it and using the restroom they felt comfortable in was never something they were able to even consider.

While Jen Palmer says most all of T-Mobile's properties, including its headquarters, call centers and retail locations, have genderless bathroom options, the company's gender transition guide and employee handbook also state clearly that "all employees should have access to restrooms that correspond to their gender identity" and that "employees should determine the most appropriate option for themselves." It's a policy Jason says they never had before, and the lack of that protected inclusivity caused very public derision.

"Once in a meeting at another company I was very pointedly told by upper management in front of everyone that I was not allowed to go into the restroom that I actually identified as, because that's not what it showed on my birth records," recounts Jason. "It's not what showed on my ID. And if I did not agree with it, there was the door. These people that I'd worked with for years, looked me in the eye and then literally physically pointed at the door. I was broken."

Compare that to the experience Jason had after joining T-Mobile, where they say managers and co-workers not only supported all the protocols to change their name and pronouns after their transition, but even quickly helped fill their shift when a last-minute appointment for part of their gender affirming surgery became available. From the small things to the very big things, Jason says there's no price you can put on the value of being surrounded by advocates.

“You don’t have to always make a big splash to make an impact,” says Jason. “To turn to my coworker, a cis male who says he has never known anyone who wasn’t straight and have him say we can participate together in ‘No-Shave November’ now that I have been able to grow a full beard, is so incredible.”

I Have Impact

Meet Ellis and hear about his coming out story.

If you look up Ellis Bishop-Wright (He/Him) online today, you would be hard pressed not to find some kind of positive comment about how he has impacted people at work. As Ellis was preparing to be part of a Lesbians Who Tech event with T-Mobile Chief Human Resource Officer Deeanne King this month to discuss his coming out story at the company, many who felt touched by his kindness were on all major social channels singing his praise.

"Ellis has been a leader and advocate for Human Rights as long as I've known him," writes one person. "He is someone I am proud to work alongside and learn from."

Others posted that the senior learning solutions consultant in T-Mobile's Career Development and Learning organization is someone who has been "dedicated to creating a safe and affirming environment in the workplace." Ellis' online persona paints an unshakeable force. But speak to Ellis directly and he will acknowledge that the powerful person he feels today is in stark contrast to the person he felt like just four years ago.

“It was May of 2018, and I was depressed, unemployed, and had real doubts I would ever get hired,” says Ellis.

Having lived in a part of Memphis where he says he and his wife were not particularly welcomed in their local stores or their kids’ schools, it wasn’t until he joined T-Mobile a year later that something switched.

“The environment at T-Mobile gave me a lot of confidence and that space to explore who I am,” says Ellis, “and helped me get to the point where I was like, ‘Okay, I’m trans and I need to admit this and stop spending so much time and energy not admitting it.’”

Ellis says he knows there are so many who do not share in his positive experience of coming out at work.

"I am representing trans people of T-Mobile," says Ellis, "and my coming out was like landing on a soft cloud. Deeanne was excited. My manager happy-cried when I told her. People got so excited for me, and it has just been like doors always open … but I know that others - many, many others - haven't had such a positive coming out experience as I have and sometimes I feel like guilty about it."

And while Ellis is careful not to imply through his personal story that there aren’t real risks that trans people face every day when they come out at work, he says he hopes showing what a positive experience can do for both the person and the overall work environment can be impactful on a micro and macro scale.

“This is my first foray into the world as a transgender man,” says Ellis. “When I combine that with the terrifying and terrible legislation that is happening all over this country against trans people, I feel now is the time to speak up and have our voices heard.”

What’s the news: T-Mobile has achieved another technology breakthrough, lighting up commercial Voice over 5G (VoNR, or Voice Over New Radio) service in limited areas of Portland, Ore. and Salt Lake City. The Un-carrier plans to expand VoNR to many more areas this year.

Why it matters: Standalone 5G is the future of wireless, and because it isn’t anchored to LTE, it will be capable of delivering a new level of performance with incredibly fast speeds, real-time responsiveness and massive connectivity. Now that Standalone 5G is beginning to carry voice traffic with the launch of VoNR, all services are possible on 5G.

Who it’s for: T-Mobile customers with Samsung Galaxy S21 5G smartphones who can take advantage of VoNR today in select areas … And everyone who wants to see what the only nationwide standalone 5G network can do.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — June 3, 2022 — America’s most advanced 5G network just got most advanced-er. T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) announced today that commercial Voice Over 5G (VoNR) service is live for customers in limited areas of Portland, Ore. and Salt Lake City, achieving another technology milestone with its industry-leading nationwide Standalone (SA) 5G network, which no other operator in the country has. With VoNR, the Un-carrier can keep devices always connected to 5G and enable future transformative applications that require a seamless 5G connection. The Un-carrier plans to continue its VoNR rollout to many additional areas this year.

"We don't just have the leading 5G network in the country. T-Mobile is setting the pace for providers around the globe as we push the industry forward - now starting to roll out another critical service over 5G," said Neville Ray, President of Technology at T-Mobile. "5G is already driving new levels of engagement, transforming how our customers use their smartphones and bringing unprecedented connectivity to areas that desperately need it. And it's just going to get better thanks to the incredible T-Mobile team and our partners who are tirelessly innovating and advancing the capabilities of 5G every day."

Standalone 5G removes the need for an underlying 4G LTE network and 4G core, so 5G can reach its true potential. In other words, it’s “pure 5G”, and T-Mobile was the first in the world to deliver it nationwide nearly two years ago.

The addition of VoNR takes T-Mobile's standalone 5G network to the next level by enabling it to carry voice calls, keeping customers seamlessly connected to 5G. In the near-term, customers connected to VoNR will notice slightly faster call set-up times, meaning less delay between the time they dial a number and when the phone starts ringing. But VoNR is not just about a better calling experience. Most importantly, VoNR brings T-Mobile one step closer to truly unleashing its standalone 5G network because it enables advanced capabilities like network slicing that rely on a continuous connection to a 5G core.

"VoNR represents the next step in the 5G maturity journey-an application that exists and operates in a complete end-to-end 5G environment," says Jason Leigh, research manager, 5G & Mobility at IDC. "Migrating to VoNR will be a key factor in developing new immersive app experiences that need to tap into the full bandwidth, latency and density benefits offered by a 5G standalone network."

"The commercial launch of the VoNR service is another important step in T-Mobile's successful 5G deployment," said Fredrik Jejdling, Executive Vice President and Head of Business Area Networks at Ericsson. "It demonstrates how we as partners can introduce 5G voice based on the Ericsson solution."

"We are proud of our partnership with T-Mobile to bring the full capabilities of 5G to customers in the United States," said Tommi Uitto, President, Nokia Mobile Networks. "Nokia's radio and core solutions power T-Mobile's 5G standalone network - and this VoNR deployment is a critical step forward for the new 5G voice ecosystem."

"At Samsung, we want to give our users the best possible 5G experience on every device - and today's announcement represents a big step forward," said Jude Buckley, Executive Vice President, Mobile eXperience at Samsung Electronics America. "By supporting extensive integration and testing, and working alongside an industry leader like T-Mobile, we're bringing to life all the benefits of 5G technology with the help of our Samsung Galaxy devices."

Bonn, Germany and Bellevue, Wash. — June 2, 2022 — T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) and T-Labs, Deutsche Telekom’s research and development unit, today announced the six winners of T-Challenge, a six-month-long worldwide competition for startups, developers, and designers to submit innovative research and solutions aimed at transforming retail with 5G and Extended Reality (XR) technology. The six winners were among 19 finalists who traveled to Bonn, Germany to present their solutions to top leaders at Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile US. They’ll split nearly half a million U.S. dollars in prize money.

“5G is poised to unlock the true potential of Extended Reality, transforming the way we interact with the world around us – including the way we shop,” said Neville Ray, President of Technology at T-Mobile U.S. “T-Challenge gives us a glimpse into the future with XR, and I can’t wait to see these innovators take their ideas to the next level.”

Team Graffiti from Marseille, France took the top spot in the “Solution Development” category for their idea that transforms the product buying experience with Augmented Reality. Golem Digital from Graz, Austria won the “Concept and Design” category for their idea of ByeByeQ that reduces wait times in stores by allowing customers to interact with remote consultants through XR. SightCall from Frankfurt, Germany and DeepBrainAI from Seoul, South Korea won second and third place in the “Solution Development” category. Code University from Berlin, Germany was the runner-up in the “Concept and Design” category, while Yona from Cologne, Germany took third place.

"We started our second T-Challenge with great expectations. The participants' ideas far exceeded them. For example, we received solutions such as lifelike avatars paired with applications that are perfectly tailored to the needs of our customers. This enables us to further improve our service. We want to inspire people and act in line with their needs. I have seen a lot today that precisely meets this objective," says Claudia Nemat, Member of the Board of Management for Technology and Innovation at Telekom.

With America’s largest and fastest nationwide 5G network as the foundation, T-Mobile fuels innovation and helps build the 5G ecosystem with a number of initiatives. The T-Mobile Accelerator, a program focused on building innovative solutions for 5G, is the lead 5G launch partner in North America for Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Spaces™ XR Developer Platform, working with developers and startups to build head worn AR applications for education, gaming, sports and entertainment. In addition, the Un-carrier also operates the T-Mobile Ventures investment fund and is a co-founder of the 5G Open Innovation Lab. Its recently unveiled Tech Experience 5G Hub is a 24,000 square foot workspace where entrepreneurs and partners can tap into 5G working alongside T-Mobile engineers.

One Team Together: A Unified Front to Help Those Impacted by Emergency Events https://www.t-mobile.com/news/community/emergency-response-one-team-together Mié. 01 de jun. de 2022 15:01:53 +0000 https://www.t-mobile.com/news/?post_type=story&p=87611 Learn how T-Mobile’s emergency response teams work seamlessly together during events such as natural disasters to restore network outages and bring mobile assets to impacted communities that help people connect with loved ones when it matters most.

The post One Team Together: A Unified Front to Help Those Impacted by Emergency Events appeared first on T-Mobile Newsroom.

]]>
Meet members of T-Mobile’s Emergency Response Teams and hear how they work together to help during emergency events.

When it comes to supporting customers and communities after disasters impact connectivity, John Melbert has over two decades of experience in emergency management — and he will tell you the one thing that matters most when it comes to disaster response is simple.

"It's not about the equipment or the applications," explains the T-Mobile network engineer manager, "it's the people. It's always about the teams and the way they come together and find solutions to any issues."

It’s why on a beautiful and calm day at T-Mobile’s Bellevue, WA Headquarters that felt far from the emergency events he’s accustomed to, John was excited to introduce to other employees the integral teams and equipment that make up the multi-pronged support for customers and communities impacted by disasters.

As the start of hurricane season quickly approaches —from June 1st until November 30th — John and members of his Network Engineering and Operations Team rolled in a number of their emergency management vehicles and parked them right alongside equipment used by their colleagues from T-Mobile’s Consumer Group Business Continuity Team as part of the Community Support program.

“What you’re seeing is the collaboration between our two teams at large, and reflects exactly how we would show up after a disaster,” says Rod McWilliams, a T-Mobile director with the Business Continuity Team.

An entire city block was lined up with network satellite trucks, Wi-Fi trailers, a Mobile Command Center, a self-powered charging station, a large F-250 pickup truck and so much more.

"From a logistics standpoint, when bad things happen we all stage together," says John. "You'll see our engineering trucks side by side with Community Support trucks. It's one big, unified response, even though we focus on different paths."

It was a great display of the seamless teamwork and comradery T-Mobile has fostered as the backbone of its large-scale emergency response efforts.

“I always believe that my team is a team that works well together because when we go into these disaster events we have to band together,” says Mo Thornton, a program manager with the Business Continuity Team. “It’s about getting the consumers and the community what they need in that moment.”

In order to support those impacted by disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires, these teams work tirelessly to address both the issues of restoring affected cell towers and reconstituting T-Mobile’s network as well as supporting communities with temporary connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, backup power and extra devices.

"The Network Engineering team is always going to do everything they can to get the network back up after some kind of disastrous event," says Rod. "What our team does with the Community Support Program is we really do outreach to the community. We provide charging supplies and pre-lit phones so people can call their loved ones immediately."

Members of the emergency response teams say it’s the one-two punch that is necessary to be truly impactful after these kinds of events.

"We come in right behind the engineers as they rebuild the network and focus on how can we help in that very first moment of need," says Becky Romero, a senior manager with the Business Continuity Team. "I'm talking day one or day two. We look to generate immediate connectivity at local shelters where people may have been evacuated."

And everyone says they’ve worked tirelessly to prepare after learning so much during some of the more extreme disasters of the past several years.

“Hurricane Ida last year in Louisiana was probably one of the best examples of how our preparation was effective,” says Rod. “We handed out $1.2 million in phone and charging supplies to those impacted and it was hugely successful.

And T-Mobile’s Puerto Rico network has recently been awarded as the dominant winner in OpenSignal’s Network Experience Awards for Q1 2022.

"It's one of the most prepared Markets in our Network," says John. "They have to be, due to their higher-than-average probability of being in the path of a hurricane and more recently being subjected to earthquakes. Add in the logistical challenges of getting supplies to the island, and it's clear that they have to be operating at a higher level of preparation given these potential obstacles, and they are. I couldn't be more proud."

We Won’t Stop

See some of T-Mobile’s Emergency Response vehicles and how new assets were already used this May in new Mexico.

"We're never satisfied with what we have. It's always what can we do bigger, better, faster," says John. "For example, on the network side, we are adding an additional 5,300 generators to combat power outages at cell sites as part of our hardening program this year."

Some of the new equipment, like the Wi-Fi/Charging Station trailer with 80 charging units, the Mobile Command Center that’s called “an office on wheels,” and the F-250 pickup truck, were actually seasoned workhorses, having already done a successful first run responding to the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon wildfires in New Mexico in early May that led to more than 650 people being evacuated to the Glorieta Camp Grounds.

“We were able to provide 400 pre-lit phones and 400 single port charging units and 400 universal charging cables when we arrived with our new charging trailer that also supplies Wi-Fi,” explains Becky.

“Actually, our Network team confirmed that the T-Mobile service was strong,” says Rod. “But with 650 evacuees, some who weren’t T-Mobile customers, we knew that boost of Wi-Fi support would allow for so many more people to call their loved ones right away.”

"While we are blessed to have facilities and staff here to host," says Josh Nelson, the Glorieta Camp Ground Site Manager, "it's those like T-Mobile who come out here that help us make this happen for the evacuees. Without the support of T-Mobile and the community we couldn't pull this off. T-Mobile coming here and meeting so many needs is huge."

T-Mobile Invests in Network Resources and Expands Emergency Response Fleet to Keep People Connected When Disasters Strike https://www.t-mobile.com/news/community/2022-disaster-season Mié. 01 de jun. de 2022 14:59:26 +0000 https://www.t-mobile.com/news/?post_type=story&p=87242 The Un-carrier has been preparing year-round to help keep customers, first responders and communities connected when connectivity is needed most.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — May 26, 2022 — T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) is taking big steps to be ready for whatever this year’s hurricane and wildfire seasons bring its way. From making massive network resiliency investments that added thousands of backup generators to its resource inventory, to expanding its emergency response fleet to include even more vehicles with WiFi connectivity, to launching a new consumer-focused educational collaboration with The Weather Channel, the Un-carrier wants the communities it serves across the U.S. to know Team Magenta has their backs.

"As forecasters predict another round of challenging summer weather events in 2022, T-Mobile teams have been taking proactive steps throughout the year to prepare so we can be there for the communities we serve when they need it most," said T-Mobile President of Technology Neville Ray. "Investing in our network, expanding our emergency response equipment fleet and preparing our teams to mobilize ensures T-Mobile shows up quickly whenever and wherever we're needed. Our sincerest hope is that communities won't be impacted, but we'll be ready for whatever may come."

Prepared for Any Possibility

Disasters can be unpredictable, so T-Mobile teams aim to be ready for any possibility. Before, during and after a weather or disaster event, the Un-carrier focuses on ensuring customers, first responders and communities are supported.

Communication and Collaboration
Ongoing communication and collaboration between T-Mobile teams and with other partners is critical to staying informed and keeping customers aware of what's to come. Esto incluye:

  • Working with weather forecasters, including StormGeo, to accurately track events and understand potential severity.
  • Launching a new educational collaboration withThe Weather Channel to deliver segments with tips and tricks on how to prepare for, manage through and recover from weather events.
  • Partnering with local authorities on proactive consumer communication, for example, working with California’s electric utilities to issue customer alerts about Public Safety Power Shutoffs that will also help reduce the risk of fires caused by electric infrastructure in extreme weather.
  • Aligning T-Mobile’s network, community and retail teams to develop comprehensive incident response plans that ensure network connections are restored, supplies such as pre-lit devices, portable phone charging banks and charging cables are available, and retail stores can safely reopen to help customers.
  • Bringing those teams together, alongside industry emergency management personnel and state and local government agencies, to practice preparedness exercises.

Network and Community Response Readiness
When it comes to network readiness, resiliency and redundancy are critical. T-Mobile is taking measures now that will allow the Un-carrier to be able to maintain connectivity with limited interruption even in the worst of conditions, including:

  • Having technicians and engineers ready to staff Network Operations Centers (NOCs) where they’ll monitor network traffic demands and weather impacts wherever they’re needed, 24/7.
  • Equipping T-Mobile’s network switches, data centers, points of presence and other critical sites with more fixed backup generators than ever before, thanks to a multi-year network hardening investment that added thousands of new backup generators and advanced relief and recovery tools in hurricane-prone areas.
  • Significantly increasing the number of portable generators that can restore power to tower locations where permanent generators are not possible and regularly testing all sites.
  • Increasing the size and types of its fleet of emergency response vehicles, including adding Wi-Fi/charging trailers that can pull available wireless signals and provide Wi-Fi connectivity; mobile command centers with computer workstations, integrated charging ports, and satellite and Wi-Fi connectivity; and tow vehicles with satellite/2-way radio communication and storage for phones, charging cords and portable chargers.
  • Proactively staging expert engineers and technicians to quickly assess impacts and begin network restoration with temporary solutions such as Satellite Cells on Wheels (SatCOWs) and Satellite Cells on Light Trucks (SatCOLTs).

What’s the news: AT&T and Verizon are once again increasing costs for longtime customers who thought their phone bills were the last thing they had to worry about in a world where prices are rising from the gas pumps to the grocery store. Not cool, bro.

Why it matters: The Carriers are fighting inflation by going straight for their customers’ pockets. It doesn’t have to be this way. T-Mobile is standing by its commitment to customers with Price Lock, which ensures T-Mobile won’t raise the price of its existing wireless rate plans even as costs for everything else increase.

Who it’s for: AT&T and Verizon customers facing price hikes.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — May 31, 2022 — The Carriers called. They want their greedy reputations back. AGAIN. AT&T is raising its rates, increasing customers’ bills by $6 to $12 per month. At the same time, Verizon is raising prices with a new made-up fee — the Economic Adjustment Charge — adding $1.35 per line. That extra charge will generate $100 million more per month for Verizon, which is $1.2 BILLION in just one year. To put it into perspective, that’s more than 260 million gallons of inflation gas that The Carriers are swiping from customers over the next year. It’s downright disgusting!

T-Mobile is here to save AT&T and Verizon customers from further aggravation.  Not only can families switch to T-Mobile and save up to 20% each month with three or more lines on qualifying plans, they have peace of mind their price won’t go up with T-Mobile’s Price Lock. When those facing price hikes switch to Magenta MAX at the Un-Carrier, they’ll receive $200 per line via virtual prepaid card and up to $1,000 with five lines.

"Inflation shouldn't be an excuse to jack up prices just because you can get away with it. But that's The Carriers' way," said Mike Sievert, CEO, T-Mobile. "T-Mobile is here to help our customers battle inflation by not adding to the stress of price hikes. It's got to be a mind-numbing experience for AT&T and Verizon customers who have watched their rates go up continuously over the last few years."

The Carriers see inflation as an excuse to take more money from their customers, while the Un-carrier is promising they won’t raise rates on their regular wireless plans as part of T-Mobile’s Price Lock, which covers wireless and now broadband plans, too. And as if pricing reliability isn’t enough, T-Mobile also comes with America’s largest and fastest 5G network and exclusive customer deals and discounts— like T-Mobile Tuesdays, free Netflix, travel benefits and plenty more.

Carrier Callout Throwdown
The Carrier Callout goes far beyond winning over AT&T and Verizon customers. It's about exposing The Carriers' crappy way of approaching rising costs and fighting on behalf of all wireless users, regardless of which network they use. So, we're presenting The Carriers with a valiant challenge: Verizon and AT&T, do your customers a favor and adopt a version of T-Mobile's Price Lock. It's as simple as it sounds. Just commit to not raising rate plan prices for existing customers while they remain on their current plan. But hey, if that's not a promise you can make, we'll make sure your customers know it. Oh, and we'll have fun along the way at your expense, so consider this challenge carefully. Otherwise, it's game on.

In the meantime, we’ve unleashed a new ad campaign featuring actor Ben Barnes as a class-action lawyer with an offer of up to $1,000 for affected AT&T and Verizon customers who want to switch their families to T-Mobile’s Magenta MAX plan.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — May 31, 2022 — T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) and the T-Mobile Foundation today announced the 15 winners of the 2022 Changemaker Challenge, the nationwide contest that gives young leaders between the ages of 13 and 18 the opportunity to level up their ideas for creating a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable future with networking, mentorship, and seed money.

Following more interest in the program from youth innovators than ever before, winning ventures from this Changemaker Challenge, the fourth sponsored by T-Mobile, the T-Mobile Foundation and Ashoka, came from teams focused on three project categories: Digital Empowerment, Equity in Action and Thriving Planet. Submissions tackled issues ranging from food insecurity and combatting stereotypes around boys reading to making STEM education accessible for all.

Every winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to T-Mobile’s headquarters in Bellevue, Wash. later this summer for the three-day Changemaker Lab to get coaching and mentorship from T-Mobile leaders, skills training from Ashoka, and networking opportunities with other winning teams.

Winning teams also receive seed money to fund their projects. Five winners in each of the three categories have been awarded $5,000 each in seed money. From those top 15 teams, one project per category was selected to receive an additional $5,000 seed funding (for a total of $10,000 per team), and the opportunity to pitch their projects to T-Mobile senior leaders and the T-Mobile Foundation at the Changemaker Lab in Bellevue, Wash., later this summer.

Among the three category winners who will present at the Changemaker Lab, one will be selected as the Grand Prize Winner and receive another $5,000 — for a total of $15,000 — plus a one-on-one meeting with a T-Mobile senior leader for additional guidance on how they can grow their venture.

"We were blown away by record-breaking interest in this fourth year of the Changemaker Challenge, and we're so inspired by these young innovators who are working to make real change happen through big and bold ideas," said Janice V. Kapner, Chief Communications Officer for T-Mobile. "Paving the way for change by seeing a challenge and finding novel ways to fix it is the Un-carrier way - and these bright young leaders are doing just that! We can't wait to see how they create a more sustainable, equitable and connected world for us all."

Since the Changemaker Challenge launched in 2018, T-Mobile, The T-Mobile Foundation and Ashoka have fielded over 1,000 total applicants. Following the Changemaker Lab this summer, the program will have awarded roughly $385,000 in funding to winning teams.

For Aaryanna Nijjar (She/They), May is a time where she can’t help but feel with a certain acuteness the complex results of who she is today mixed with the things that have influenced her since childhood.

The graphic designer for T-Mobile's T-Studios says as a mental health advocate from a military family with Southeast Asian heritage, Asian American Pacific Island Heritage Month, Military Awareness Month and Mental Health Awareness Month converge on her in a way that at times can be too overwhelming to put into words. Which is reason, in part, why she has a tattoo that expresses the paradox of it all on her hands - hands she uses every day to also express herself as an artist.

“It’s my favorite quote,” she explains. “It’s by André Gide. It says, ‘Everything in the world that needs to be said has already been said, but since no one was listening, it must be said again.’ That in itself, it inspires everything I do in life, including art, but advocating for mental health too.”

She continues: "I struggle with my mental health - I really started struggling with it as a teenager, growing up in a military family and feeling very alone. Then you bring my ethnicity into it, and including that into those experiences, it can be very ostracizing. It feels like a displacement all over the place."

We sat down with Aaryanna to talk about how her heritage, her military family upbringing and the attention to her own mental health has influenced the person and the artist she is, this May and beyond.

Hear more from T-Studio’s Graphic Designer Aaryanna in a video production she helped create!

You are currently a content creator, but did you always want to work in an artistic field?

Growing up, I always loved being involved with art. I come from a military family, so we moved about every three years so everything was always moving and that's when I started getting into photography. I really held onto that throughout my entire childhood and then into my adult life as well. Just that feeling of allowing things to stop for a singular moment and breathing within that moment, whether that be through art or photography or sculptures. But I never had a professional or educational background in art: all self-taught. I think that's the brilliant thing about art, it doesn't have to be expensive. You don't have to be in a big role, you can just create and you can feel. It's an incredible thing. It's so much more than a job for me.

One thing that always highlighted that intersectionality for me was the question, where are you from? Interestingly enough, during the month of May, getting questions like that is complex.

Aaryanna Nijjar

T-Mobile's Aaryanna Nijjar, a self portrait

How has growing up in a military family alongside your cultural identity influenced you as an artist?

Both of my parents were in the military, and that's where they met. I was born in California and we were stationed in about seven different places. I've also lived in Alaska, Oregon, North Carolina, just to name a few. My father is Indian, and he immigrated to the United States when he was about four years old. My mother's Italian, but lived in Boston her entire life. My culture has shaped me in numerous ways, mostly through color. It's really interesting when you look at Bollywood films, you see tons of colors - in Indian culture we celebrate color. I think that to a core is so beautiful, and I definitely use that as momentum to push my art in different ways.

One thing that always highlighted that intersectionality for me was the question, where are you from? When I started a new school every three years, they were always saying, "Where are you from?" Interestingly enough, during the month of May, getting questions like that is complex. Are they asking me where I was originally stationed with the military, or are they asking because of my complexion? I remember asking my mom, like, "What am I supposed to say when these kids are asking me these things?" It's a really interesting question for me specifically.

You're very vocal about mental health wellness and overall awareness. What advice would you have for someone beginning their own journey with self-care?

My thing that I recommend the most for mental health quite genuinely is therapy. I find therapy to be incredible. I'm an advocate for it. And not just traditional therapy because I think there are forms of free therapy. Some people just need to reach out and talk to a friend. I think it's important not to isolate yourself, and to practice self-care. Oftentimes within society, we picture self-care as bubble baths and face masks, and that's awesome and that is self-care to a point. But it's also taking space in other ways. It's important knowing when to set boundaries and when you shouldn't include certain people in your life. For example, my Instagram is where I do a lot of mental health and eco-activism, but I have not posted on social media in about a year. I took a break for my mental health.

What does this month mean for you in terms of celebrating simultaneously all these things: Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Mental Health Awareness and Military Appreciation Month?

It's transformative for sure. It has brought up a lot of conversations that have been challenging, and I'm appreciative of that. May even leading into June and what June represents as well [with it being Pride month], and being included in that, it is a lot of transformation. I have a project just coming out that connects to this. T-Mobile Careers reached out to me and they asked me to do a self-portrait and they gave me full free range on it.

I created a piece where it's split down the middle. The left side portrays things that were expected of me as an Indian individual growing up, and in an American society. Then on the right side, it shows who I truly am: queer and creative, and maybe a little weird. It's just very interactive and it has sparked a lot of conversations. It's been great to share my background and things of my culture and not only the joys of it, but really what it means to be a woman in my place, to be an individual in my place.

BELLEVUE, Wash. and ROUND ROCK, Texas — May 23, 2022 — Today, T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) and Dell Technologies (NYSE: Dell) are joining forces to develop solutions that will make it easier for enterprise and government customers to embrace the 5G era. T-Mobile’s 5G Private Mobile Network – announced today as part of 5G Advanced Network Solutions – will bring customers the power of 5G connectivity combined with Dell’s edge computing technologies at the location of their choice. This will give enterprises the superfast speeds, ultra-low latency, and control they need to use new applications that can help to increase revenue and lower costs.

"There's no lack of interest in private networks or edge compute solutions, but enterprises are really hungry for simple solutions that tie back to business outcomes," said Dimitris Mavrakis, Senior Research Director, ABI Research. "That's why it's so exciting to see how T-Mobile has approached this space with 5G Advanced Network Solutions - with a focus on simple solutions, flexibility and performance."

T-Mobile's 5G Private Mobile Network will pair a private 5G network with Dell edge computing technologies, including Dell VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure, so data can be processed, stored and acted upon locally at locations like large business campuses, factories, or universities. It will be available on-premises and be fully managed by the experts at T-Mobile who built America's largest and fastest 5G network.

Enterprise customers can stop worrying about the plumbing and focus on new and innovative real-time applications that can have business impact like increased revenue, lower costs, or increased efficiencies. Efficiencies like helping airlines speed up aircraft turnaround times. Or evolving defect detection so fully autonomous cars will one day be ready for the road, which can result in repair cost savings and increased safety for drivers.

"As we launch more 5G products and services this year, we're always thinking about what our customers are telling us they need," said Mishka Dehghan, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Product, and Solutions Engineering, T-Mobile Business Group. "And, customers are telling us that navigating the complex infrastructure around private networks to produce tangible results is a major pain point. We're ready to help with partners like Dell Technologies so our customers can stay focused on their business and leave the next-gen connectivity solutions to us."

"The competitive advantages and business opportunities from being able to analyze and act quickly on data coming from the edge of your own private 5G network are immense," said Dennis Hoffman, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Dell Technologies Telecom Systems Business. "Our collaboration with T-Mobile will help enterprise and government customers harness the power of 5G private networks so they can start thinking about how to best use data to develop innovative, revenue-generating applications and services that can improve their businesses."

DALLAS, Texas and BELLEVUE, Wash. May 23, 2022 — Today, Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) announced they will work together to develop 5G Private Mobile Networks and Hybrid Mobile Networks. These solutions will be part of T-Mobile’s newly announced 5G Advanced Network Solutions, a suite of 5G networks that enable applications to help provide enterprise and government customers with superfast speeds, lower latency, and control over their connectivity, with options at the edge. Customers now have a flexible solution that delivers real-world results and next-level performance.

Until T-Mobile's launch of 5G Advanced Network Solutions today - solutions outside of private 5G networks were a challenge. As America's 5G leader, with the nation's largest and fastest 5G network, T-Mobile and Nokia are stepping in to bring customers accessible 5G network services that deliver the right performance they need - offering major benefits over Wi-Fi or wired networks.

Current options like Wi-Fi or wired networks come with particular challenges as they have limited coverage (restricting scalability), limited capacity (restricting speed and reliability), and limited mobility (restricting usability). And 5G Advanced Network Solutions addresses each of these head on, using Nokia's industry-leading equipment for T-Mobile's Hybrid Mobile Network; and for T-Mobile's Private Mobile Network solution, the Nokia Digital Automation Cloud Private Network solution.

Nokia and T-Mobile have been working together on 5G tests as part of T-Mobile's 5G Open Innovation Lab, so they share a history of pursuing advanced 5G applications. The Lab brings together global tech platform leaders, industry partners, and promising startups to help realize 5G's potential. Recognizing that 5G opportunities exist in all business contexts, Nokia and T-Mobile mentor startups to develop 5G proofs of concept and go to market strategies.

“Nokia is an established leader in end-to-end private wireless network solutions with extensive experience deploying private networks for enterprise and industry verticals,” said Mishka Dehghan, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Product, and Solutions Engineering, T-Mobile Business Group. “We have a longstanding trusted partnership with Nokia for our nationwide mobile network, and we are excited to work with Nokia to help enterprises and industry verticals realize the immediate benefits of 5G as they digitalize their businesses and improve operations.”

Nokia has deployed mission-critical networks to more than 2,200 leading enterprise customers in the transport, energy, large enterprise, manufacturing, webscale, and public sector segments around the globe. It has also extended its expertise to more than 450 large private wireless customers worldwide across an array of sectors, and has been cited by numerous industry analysts as the leading provider of private wireless networking worldwide.

"We have built our leadership position in private wireless networks by working with our valued partners," said Ed Cholerton, President of Nokia North America. "This extended partnership will help T-Mobile grow its enterprise customer base across a wide range of industries and enable state-of-the-art digital transformation with a secure and dependable private wireless network based on Nokia Digital Automation Cloud technology."

T‑Mobile 5G Advanced Network Solutions already helping businesses unlock troves of data, reducing latency by up to 50%, even in the most challenging conditions.

What’s the news: T-Mobile is launching 5G Advanced Network Solutions (ANS) with industry leaders like Dell, Ericsson and Nokia, to give enterprises the 5G performance needed to deliver breakthrough results and exciting new customer experiences. T-Mobile and SailGP are also showcasing 5G ANS in action in some of the most demanding conditions possible.

Why it matters: Enterprises are awash in data, and 5G can help turn that data into actionable, real-time insights that drive breakthrough results and unlock the power of new technologies like AI, robotics and AR/VR. Until now, advanced 5G solutions (private networks and mobile edge compute) have been complex, costly, rigid and over-hyped. Today, T-Mobile, America’s 5G leader, changes all that.

Who it’s for: Enterprises and government organizations of all shapes and sizes, looking to drive breakthrough results.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — May 23, 2022 — Today, T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) launched 5G Advanced Network Solutions (ANS), a suite of supercharged, managed network solutions that give enterprises more flexibility than ever. 5G ANS leverages T-Mobile’s industry-leading 5G network and spectrum to give customers the level of performance they need where they need it. The Un-carrier also announced collaborations with Dell Technologies, Ericsson and Nokia to deliver 5G ANS. And, customers like global racing league SailGP are already using 5G ANS to reduce latency by up to 50% compared to Wi-Fi and CBRS spectrum and to give coaches, athletes and fans real-time analytics from boats traveling at 60mph. SailGP joins other T-Mobile customers exploring and deploying 5G ANS in a wide range of industries and sectors, including aviation, entertainment, transportation, and more.

In an era of digital transformation, CIOs and CTOs are looking to unlock value from massive amounts of data being generated both onsite and out in the world on mobile devices, field sensors and other remote sites. To do this, enterprises need 5G connectivity combined with edge computing so their data - no matter where it's located - can be gathered and processed at superfast speeds. This combination enables enterprises to unleash smart video analytics, computer vision and inspection, immersive AR/VR experiences and more to solve real problems - like flagging a manufacturing defect before something breaks or delivering increasingly real-life AR and VR experiences for training or field service.

Until now, enterprise 5G solutions have been limited to one-size-fits-all costly, complex 5G Private Networks. But T-Mobile 5G ANS ends all that with a new level of flexibility with three 5G advanced network options, so enterprises can find the right solution for the right situation, saving money, time and delivering just-right performance with America's 5G leader.

"With 5G ANS, we started where T-Mobile always starts: by listening to customers. They told us they need solutions that work TODAY but will also scale tomorrow as part of their digital transformation journey," said Mike Sievert, CEO, T-Mobile. "With our 5G network, assets and technical leadership, T-Mobile is uniquely equipped to solve the widest array of enterprise challenges, with flexible options, and that's why we are already seeing industry-leaders use 5G ANS across aviation, entertainment, transportation and more. This is how the 5G leader does 5G enterprise solutions."

"Making technology driven decisions while flying above the water at highway speeds makes all the difference between winning and losing. It also gives fans an amazing viewing experience," said Russell Coutts, CEO, SailGP. "With 5G Advanced Network Solutions powering our F50 fleet, we've entered a new era of racing. Knowing we have the world's greatest technology partners enables us to push the boundaries of the sport and capture the attention of the next generation of race fans."

Enter 5G Advanced Network Solutions
5G ANS gives customers three options to get the low latency, high speeds, reliability and control they need to finally unlock their data's potential: 5G connectivity with a Public Mobile Network, a Hybrid Mobile Network, and a Private Mobile Network. Customers have the option to add compute to each option or use their own compute provider. And each solution is fully managed by the experts who built America's largest and fastest 5G network.

  • Customers who need more reliability and faster download speeds than legacy networks provide can use the T-Mobile Public Network for a wide variety of applications from smart meter applications to tracking optimization and more. T-Mobile’s public network is architected so that data travels less distance from the device to the compute resource and back. That’s a big reason T-Mobile 5G is faster with lower latency.
  • Customers who need even faster speeds, lower latency and/or dedicated reliability can use the Hybrid Mobile Network. This is ideal for things like immersive VR training, computer vision and inspections and other demanding applications, without the expense of a fully private solution.
  • Customers who need the highest speeds, reliability and ultra-low latency can use the Private Mobile Network. A private solution is needed for only the most demanding applications, like industrial automation in a factory or fully autonomous robots.

Powered by America’s 5G Leader
T-Mobile has a rare combination of America's leading 5G network, unrivaled 5G assets and industry-leading expertise. That trifecta puts the Un-carrier in a unique position to help enterprises get the performance they need in any environment, today.

With dedicated 5G spectrum in low-band, mid-band and mmWave, and more sub-6 GHz spectrum holdings on average nationwide than VZ and ATT combined, T-Mobile is unmatched when it comes to giving customers flexible solutions. For instance, while mmWave can be great for fully private networks in one location, it's not the best solution at a theme park (or even a regular park) where it's unable to connect through rides or trees, which is where mid-band comes in. So unlike the Carriers, T-Mobile can offer enterprises solutions that are right for them.

In 2020, T-Mobile public 5G network became the world’s first nationwide standalone (SA) 5G network, delivering up to 40% improvements in latency during testing. So simply using T-Mobile’s 5G Public Network, enterprises can get industry-leading performance. Already, more than 20 independent reports show T-Mobile is number one in 5G speed and availability, proving that no one is better at building and managing 5G networks than T-Mobile. Now, enterprises can benefit from that expertise.

5G ANS in Action
In a sea of vague use cases, T-Mobile is delivering fresh air, clarity and actual results with 5G ANS, showcasing a recent event with SailGP, the purpose-led global championship featuring the world's most exciting racing on-water. It's the pinnacle of the sport, where superfast boats are also massive IoT devices capturing 240k data points per second! All of that data travels, via a T-Mobile 5G Hybrid Network solution, back to SailGP's compute platform to be processed and then back to the remote race control center.

Seamlessly transferring 240k data points traveling at 60mph over the open water is the ultimate test of any network solution, and with the inaugural deployment of T-Mobile's 5G Hybrid Mobile Network, SailGP finally found a solution that gave them the reliability and performance they needed. Not only did T-Mobile's 5G Hybrid Mobile Network deliver superior reliability in the most extreme conditions, it provided up to 50% reduction in latency. This superfast data transfer helped coaches and athletes make better decisions while racing at highway-like speeds. It also brought fans closer to the action, giving them an unmatched viewing experience.

And that's just the beginning. Together, T-Mobile and SailGP are developing new 5G applications to broadcast remote, live racing action across the globe - in stunning, ultra-HD. 5G ANS delivers the perfect low latency platform to deliver the next breakthrough for SailGP's award-winning broadcasts. ¡Prepárate!

BELLEVUE, Wash. and PLANO, Texas — May 23, 2022 — Today, T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) and Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) announced that Ericsson’s industry-leading RAN and Core equipment will power T-Mobile’s 5G Advanced Network Solutions (5G ANS) — a suite of supercharged 5G network options for enterprise and government customers. 5G Advanced Network Solutions allows customers to choose the level of performance they need, giving them the flexibility to unlock the power of 5G. Now, CIOs and CTOs can get network power that promises to transform their businesses in ways that increase revenue, lower costs and provide exciting new customer experiences.

While the market has been flooded with hype around 5G network solutions, the Un-carrier’s been innovating and delivering results with partners like Ericsson. Take global racing league, SailGP. They needed lightning-fast transfer of 240k data points per second from their fleet of F50 foiling boats while racing – and sometimes travelling at speeds of more than 60 mph. With 5G ANS, T-Mobile was able to deploy an Ericsson-based 5G Hybrid Mobile Network to bring SailGP more reliability and lower latencies than ever before.

Ericsson and T-Mobile have been working together for decades - dating back to the days of 1G technology - so it's natural for them to usher in a new era of 5G solutions for enterprises. 5G Advanced Network Solutions will combine Ericsson's cutting-edge Private 5G hardware and software with T-Mobile's leading 5G assets. With Ericsson's RAN and Core powering T-Mobile's suite of 5G Advanced Network Solutions, customers can get the latency, security, reliability, and speed they need for all the 5G era use cases like delivering increasingly real-life AR and VR experiences for training or field service.

“Our mission is to help enterprise customers realize the value of real-time data in making decisions that help their businesses run faster, more efficiently, and stay ahead of the curve as 5G transforms the landscape,” said Mishka Dehghan, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Product, and Solutions Engineering, T-Mobile Business Group. “With T-Mobile’s leading 5G network, America’s largest and fastest, and excellent RAN and Core equipment from partners like Ericsson, we’re showing — not telling — that 5G MEC is real, and helping customers improve their business today.”

"Ericsson is excited about T-Mobile's launch of 5G Advanced Network Solutions with a clear vision for customer experience and passion for delivering business value," said Åsa Tamsons, Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Technologies and New Businesses, Ericsson. "The T-Mobile and Ericsson partnership is making it possible to deliver clear results for enterprises that want to take their business wireless."

Asian American and Pacific Islander Month: The many pieces of a beautifully complex puzzle https://www.t-mobile.com/news/community/asian-american-pacific-islander-month-beautifully-complex-puzzle Vie. 20 de may. de 2022 21:24:57 +0000 https://www.t-mobile.com/news/?post_type=story&p=87266 T-Mobile Advanced and Emerging Technologies EVP John Saw shares his thoughts on the powerful contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islanders and the importance of AAPI Heritage Month.

The post Asian American and Pacific Islander Month: The many pieces of a beautifully complex puzzle appeared first on T-Mobile Newsroom.

]]>

The most vibrant nations in the world have always been the most complex.

Proof point: America.

People from just about every corner of the planet have converged here. All their beliefs, skills, knowledge and values have influenced us to create an America that innovates, leads and extends hands around the world like no other nation in history. That's the power of our complexity, and it's what makes us shine bright enough for the whole world to see.

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) have played many roles in this American complexity for about five centuries. There are too many storylines along too many eras for any one theme or slogan to sum up or celebrate the long, rich and complicated history of Asian and Pacific Islanders in America. Think of all the achievements to celebrate, all the tragedy and sacrifice to memorialize, and all the hope and aspiration that propel us forward.

You can't tell anything close to the true story of America without the many chapters on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, but that's often what has happened. Too many AAPI contributions to what is American are overlooked or even hidden away, and Americans cannot fully be who we are if we hide pieces of ourselves away.

If you're wondering what good these "appreciation" or "history" months do - that's it. They shine a light on the things that make America the vibrant, complex, difficult and beautiful puzzle that it is.

I'm proud that T-Mobile is shining that light for employees all month with workshops, panel discussions and events. At T-Mobile, diversity fuels our Un-carrier spirit, and that spirit drives us to become champions of change for our customers. I hope everyone takes some time this month to learn about and recognize the enormous portion of America's spirit that is AAPI people!

The post Accessibility and Inclusion for Future Talent appeared first on T-Mobile Newsroom.

]]>
I walked into my first day of high school in 2015 feeling unconfident, un-liked and unsure of what the future would bring.

My mind raced with crushing doubt. Would I survive academically? Socially? I know high school is a scary rite of passage for most, but throughout my life I was continuously tested for learning disabilities, provided accommodations and sat through countless Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings. I was often told aiming within my "abilities" meant solely graduating high school and finding a job. When I argued that I wanted more for myself, I was met with blank stares and shrugs.

I was frustrated not only with my learning challenges, but with the systems in place that prioritized adult decision-makers choosing my educational path instead of asking me. I knew if I did not take ownership of my academic future, it would be decided for me. I took a more decisive role in better understanding the intricacies behind my own IEP and the legislation behind it. This self-advocacy empowered me to feel unafraid to demand what I needed to succeed. I entered college determined to do my part in advocating and supporting fellow students with disabilities.

I began my advocacy work in the most natural of places — in a legislator’s office. I interned for United States Senator Patty Murray’s office during the summer of 2021. There, I got my first glimpse of how real societal change comes to life, and I never would have had this opportunity if it weren’t for the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD).

AAPD is a national cross-disability civil rights organization that focuses on building the economic and political power of the 61 million disabled people across the country. As a member of their Summer Internship Program, my peers and I had access to an entire network of employment opportunities, including my internship in the federal government. I also have this program to thank for my most current internship at T-Mobile working in Corporate Communications, an experience has been incredibly valuable to me as I explore a career where I can help share stories with a broad audience in ways that create impact and drive change.

As I soak in every moment of my experience learning more about my own career passions in communications, while also supporting T-Mobile in its mission of being an ally to the disability community, I wondered if the opportunity to be an agent of awareness was right in front of me.

So, I reached out to Maria Town, President and CEO of AAPD, to learn more about what it takes for an organization to be a stronger ally and to discuss her life and career path in disability justice, her current work at AAPD and what roles she believes large companies like T-Mobile play in employing, mentoring and advancing people in the disability community.

An extremely important advocate for the community, Maria has served as the Director of the City of Houston Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities and is a former Senior Associate Director in the Obama White House Office of Public Engagement.

What gives you the dedication and drive to work every day advocating for the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities?

One thing that I love about AAPD is that we are led and staffed entirely by people with disabilities. I am disabled myself; I have cerebral palsy. This is a disability I was born with and have lived my whole life with. I have always had to advocate for myself and for my inclusion in mainstream society, whether that was in school, in things like Girl Scouts, and in the workplace. I'm lucky to work in a field and in a role that is so deeply personal to me. Sometimes that makes the work hard.

”I got into my career because of people who were part of my journey and who connected me to people they thought I would like and who I could learn from.”

Maria Town

When I was growing up, I did not see a lot of people like me in the world. I was the only child with a visible disability in most of my classes, all the way through college. I didn't see anyone who was working in advocacy or in policy full time. The world of policy as a career was not available to me. I got into my career because of people who were part of my journey and who connected me to people they thought I would like and who I could learn from.

One of the signature programs that AAPD coordinates is the Summer Internship Program, which is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this summer. I took part in the program and benefitted greatly. Can you tell us a bit about this program, and why you believe it has been and continues to be so pivotal for young adults with disabilities?

The AAPD Summer Internship Program selects students and recent graduates with disabilities and places them in internships. All the interns have very different disabilities and are varying ages from post-secondary programs to those who are pursuing their PhD's. Because the disability community is so unique and diverse, we want to include as many people as possible - so we cover transportation, housing, technology, food, and provide them with paid internships to make it seamless and easy.

Internships are vital career development opportunities for not only young people, but anyone who is trying to figure out their career. Students are placed in an internship and paired with a mentor. They also participate in the disability advocacy certificate program to deepen their awareness of disability history, key issues and what it means to be an advocate and tell your story.

Twenty years later, this program is still critically important because even though the Americans with Disabilities Act has existed for more than thirty years, we continue to see huge gaps in disability employment. The gaps in disability employment reflect gaps throughout the systems in education, career development and learning that people participate in before they get a job. We need the AAPD internship program to exist and grow so that more young career professionals with disabilities can get these experiences.

Recently, we have seen an increase in disability representation in the media such as the film CODA winning the Oscar for best picture, which is helping more people around the country be more understanding of people with disabilities. What do you believe companies such as T-Mobile can do to add to this awareness?

I believe companies like T-Mobile should seek to hire people with disabilities in every job level from frontline customer service positions to corporate executives and invest in advocacy and mentorship. For example, I would have never been able to work at the White House without Claudia Gordon, T-Mobile’s Senior Accessibility Strategy Partner who is my dear friend. Seeing her in that space and knowing that I could do that work as well was vital for me. Also, when I was offered the position in the White House, I was intimidated, and imposter syndrome set in! But Claudia took me to lunch and said, “You can do this!” Having people that believe in your abilities and worth is vital, and we all need to support people in their goals and aspirations. Not only is advocacy critical, but it’s also important for companies to host companywide celebrations for key disability events or bring in speakers to come share knowledge, so that everyone can learn that having disability is about far more than needing special accommodations and assistive technology. Getting employees and everyone at your company to understand the culture around disability is key.

What advice do you have for young people who are reading this article and have had the same thoughts of self-doubt in achieving their own personal and professional goals?

I feel like today's younger generation could give me the most valuable advice, and that makes me hopeful and inspired. Young people today have greater access to information about disability and the disability community than I ever did. Part of that is because of social media and the way communities are formed via the internet and technology and use of mobile devices. If I had to give any advice, I would quote one of my favorite poems, which is "You Get Proud by Practicing" by Laura Hershey.

One of my favorite lines in it is, "Remember you were not the one who made you ashamed." Even though I have had my disability my whole life, there are moments when I get really frustrated, whether it's with my body just not doing what I want it to do or with the outside world not accepting me as I am. Those are all moments where I practice my pride

"As you figure out who you are, what it is you want to do, and who you want to be in the world, it's okay to try something and decide it's not for you. It is okay to take risks and make mistakes."

Maria Town

As you figure out who you are, what it is you want to do, and who you want to be in the world, it's okay to try something and decide it's not for you. It is okay to take risks and make mistakes. As disabled people, I think we must deal with the reality that we aren't given much grace to make mistakes, because we have to try so hard to overcompensate for a perceived deficit. There is a community of fantastic people out there who want to support you and are willing to reach out if you're willing to reach back. I would point them to our internship program or many similar programs on our website.

As T-Mobile’s collaboration with AAPD continues to grow, so does its pipeline of unique, diverse young talent. I am incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received from my experience with both organizations, and I’m thrilled to share that another fellow AAPD intern will be joining T-Mobile’s Summer 2022 internship program – ranked among the best in the nation!

An Ally. A Military Spouse. An Ally

“I’m often asked how we got connected with Warriors & Quiet Waters,” says Paula Timmons, a T-Mobile director of Government Affairs in Washington, D.C., with a smile. “I guess that would start with me. In the back of my head, I kept thinking of my friend Laura and her husband Drew. Laura and I have been close friends for almost 20 years and over that time, watching her with Drew, I knew I wanted to be an ally for her — be a better friend for her.”

Our story begins here, with this simple thought from an ally. This small but mighty space held for allyship led to a path that's connected three people to a cause, as well as a commitment to each other, that they never could have expected.

Hear Paula’s story of how she advocated for her colleague Laura, a military spouse.

Paula says in her role she sees herself as an ambassador for T-Mobile, sharing its policies and values with policymakers on Capitol Hill. She says as the daughter of a Navy Captain and the sister of a brother who served in the military, she found herself focusing on Veterans Affairs and the work the company was doing to serve its veteran employees and community.

Paula says she was working on a project to find underserved rural markets in need of the benefits of fast and reliable connectivity, when she met officials from the state of Montana. She was invited to represent T-Mobile at an event with Montana Senator Steve Daines. While there, she struck up a conversation with a few men who said they were on the board of an organization called Warriors & Quiet Waters.

“I learned they were all veterans who suffered from some kind of PTSD,” says Paula. “One of them even brought a service dog to lunch that day.”

She says they described their mission at Warriors & Quiet Waters as helping post-9/11 combat veterans and their families thrive by building a support system and sense of community through outdoor excursions like fly fishing. Sensing that Paula was really interested in their work, she says they asked if she thought T-Mobile might be interested in learning more and sponsoring one of the biggest events they were planning that year, called the Warrior Taste Fest.

“I knew right away I wanted T-Mobile to be part of this event in our new Bozeman Montana market,” says Paula, “but I found myself constantly thinking about my friend Laura. Knowing she was an avid fly fisher and knowing what she had been going through with her husband Andrew, I just felt like I needed to make that connection.”

A Military Spouse

“In the words of Johnny Cash, we got married in a fever,” laughs Laura Linderman Barker, a senior director on the Government Affairs team at T-Mobile.

Laura says she met her husband Andrew when he was doing reserve duty in the Navy and working with the Department of Justice. They fell in love quickly - then married quickly - because he was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan. They got hitched in San Diego in 2008, and a day later he began his seventh deployment. It was always meant to be his last, but not for the reasons that came to be.

"Unfortunately, when he was there, Andrew was in close proximity to a blast and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury," says Laura. "TBIs are complicated. I had no idea what it meant to be a military wife. I was someone who always planned everything and felt in control, but then became someone who never felt so emotionally vulnerable. And I deeply missed my husband."

Hear Laura tell her story of being a military spouse and helping to connect T-Mobile to Warriors & Quiet Waters.

Laura says she had no concept of what to expect of supporting a navy veteran reintegrating into civilian life but they just kept moving forward as life took over. They were busy working and raising their two daughters. While on the outside they may have looked like any other family, Laura says in no uncertain terms they were struggling with very complex issues at home and she felt overwhelmed.

When Paula first mentioned her chance encounter with the board members she met from Warrior & Quiet Waters, she says she saw it as a wonderful opportunity for T-Mobile. The company could sponsor the Warrior Taste Fest to continue its work of supporting veterans, and the part of Montana where the organization is located was a rural area in need of better connectivity.

“Our boss Tony Russo, VP of Government Affairs, saw an obvious alignment with the brand’s values,” says Paula, “but he too saw Laura struggling and once I pitched it to him, he said he would support the sponsorship — so Laura and I headed to Montana to represent T-Mobile.”

Laura says when they arrived and she shared her personal story with some of the staff at Warriors & Quiet Waters, someone referred to her as a caregiver and it was the first time she had ever even thought of herself that way. It's no surprise that members of the organization saw Laura for exactly who she was, as Warriors & Quiet Waters was beginning to work on a caregiver focused fishing expedition program.

“I admit when I first heard of Warriors & Quiet Waters, I immediately thought I need to get my husband involved in this and it kind of went over my head that I should apply as well,” she says.

Paula told Emily Sather, Chief Development Officer at Warriors & Quiet Waters, about how impacted Laura was by the Warriors Taste Fest and Emily asked if Laura would be interested in applying to their new program. She immediately called Laura.

"I think Laura for the first time felt that she found a community that understood who she was and what she was going through - she was a caregiver", says Paula. "And the opportunity to take advantage of this new-found community through fly fishing came at the perfect time with what Laura was going through. I saw her struggling and I needed to help her put one foot in front of the other."

Once again, Laura says it was her ally Paula who pushed her to see that she, too was, deserving of care.

Connecting veterans (and their families) to careers.
T-Mobile has partnered with Hiring Our Heroes, which finds meaningful employment opportunities for service members, veterans and spouses. It is also nationally recognized as a military-friendly employer and has committed to hire 10,000 veterans and military spouses by 2023. Since its merger with Sprint in 2020, T-Mobile is more than halfway there.

Fostering a culture of inclusion and professional growth.
T-Mobile offers resources to help retain veteran and military spouse employees throughout their career. The Tech X Returnship program, which connects people with a path back to the careers they love after a considerable break due to personal reasons, has accepted a number of veterans transitioning back into civilian life.

"I had been going through a particularly rough period at home, and I just remember after that conversation with Paula, I submitted my application," says Laura. "A total of six people are chosen for their caregiver fishing expeditions and I feel grateful I was chosen last year. My takeaway is that I'm of no value to my husband and family if I'm not taking care of myself. And this program reminds people to stop and energize and refuel because you're going back to a situation that requires your energy and if you don't ever recharge it can be a recipe for disaster. It reminded me to not just focus on what it is to have my most basic needs met, but to challenge me to pursue a life of purpose."

“Laura is someone who always wants to do what’s right,” says Emily, “and it’s an honor to partner with someone who is not only service-oriented but also brings her own personal experience of being a military caregiver and the challenges and opportunities therein.”

Laura returned from that trip excited to do more for the organization, but says attending that first Warrior Taste Fest was monumental thanks to one chance encounter.

“That’s when we met Larry,” she explains.

A Soldier

“I am one month away from retiring after almost 30 years of service with the Washington Army National Guard, and even right now Warriors & Quiet Warriors is helping me with such a big transition,” says Larry Weidinger, a T-Mobile Operations Manager in Montana.

A chance sighting of pamphlets for the organization back in 2014 led Larry to ask some questions about what exactly they did on these outdoor expeditions that was so special. Fast forward more than eight years later, and Larry has become a staple figure with the non-profit. He says his volunteer work as a companion to help other soldiers struggling after service was something he believes is part of his purpose.

“It’s just something I knew I needed to do as much as I can for the rest of my life,” says Larry.

Hear Larry share his story of 30 years of service and how his T-Mobile colleagues have supported his efforts to give back to Warriors & Quiet Waters.

“Larry never wanted the spotlight to be on himself,” says Emily, “and even though he qualified, he always had a mindset of service.”

Larry's qualifications are staggering when you ask him to list out his life of service. In the Army for almost three decades, he was deployed to the Middle East three times and to seven different countries, including Iraq. He only recently decided to retire from his role as a senior non-commissioned officer and command sergeant major in a military intelligence battalion.

“I never wanted to take another veteran’s spot who might need it more than myself,” he explains.

When he was invited to join a fishing experience as a recipient himself, he says it was hard for him to allow others to care for him, but also necessary.

"I realized after getting married and having a baby and moving out of my command sergeant major role, that I also have a purpose to take care of myself," he says. "What this program has done to help me is really amazing."

“Our CEO Brian Gilman often talks about why veteran reintegration is hard after getting out of the military,” says Emily. “We are not about just focusing on the challenges, but also the solution and how we can help veterans find peace, meaning and purpose, and to pursue that purpose with passion.”

Larry says he always wanted to find a way to coordinate T-Mobile support for the organization that had given him so much beyond the work he was doing to bring more coverage to their area, but he says he just didn't know how. So, when he walked into a partner's lunch at the first Warrior Taste Fest and met Laura and Paula for the first time, accompanied by so much T-Mobile magenta, he was floored.

"He kept asking us how we got T-Mobile in Montana to do all this," says Paula. "It felt like this perfect storm because Larry had been building out the network in that area as a market engineer and was so passionate about Warriors & Quiet Waters. He had so much insight and we made a pact after that event that we were going to do all we could to make sure this wasn't a one-time thing."

T-Mobile is helping veterans get the care they deserve by partnering with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to enable real-time health care via video.

In 2020 during National Veterans and Military Families Month, T-Mobile became the first major wireless provider to make the 988 emergency lifeline immediately available to its customers, which offers real-time mental health services.

LiveMagenta houses various telehealth options for T-Mobile employees focused on mental health such as virtual therapy and well-being apps.

eM Life Mindfulness offers programs for military and veterans, and there are also immersive programs like Journey Forward: The M.M.A.P. For Success, on-demand programs like Next Evolution: Veterans – from Soldier to Civilian and a variety of mindfulness communities such as Mindful Warriors

LiveMagenta’s Live and Work Well site offers articles, videos, resources and topics for veterans.

Percipio Resources are free and available to T-Mobile’s military employees including books, courses, videos and much more.

So, Laura decided to write a letter directly to Jon Freier, T-Mobile's President of Consumer Group and the executive sponsor of the company's Veterans and Allies Network employee resource group. She says she pulled all three of their personal stories together and explained what this organization is doing not just for her personally, but for so many others who have served, including Larry. She asked that he consider allowing T-Mobile to become a lead corporate sponsor for their next Warrior Taste Fest fundraiser.

"I'm so proud of the way T-Mobile supports our employee veterans and the veteran community at large," she wrote. "Our work matters and aligns so beautifully with WQW's mission."

She sent the email on a Friday. By that following Monday she had a response.

"I ENTHUSIASTICALLY and FULLY support!" Jon Freier wrote. "Big thanks, Laura, for bringing this great organization to my attention."

Laura says his commitment turned out to be more than just the funds.

“He blew us away by identifying countless resources throughout the company that we could work with to take our support of their event to the max,” explains Laura.

Members of Warriors & Quiet Waters say the attention that they were able to bring to their biggest event was invaluable, and the support they gave to ensure it was a success will never be forgotten. And thanks to these three T-Mobile employees advocating for the non-profit, Jon has once again approved the company's lead corporate sponsorship for next Warrior Taste Fest in August 2022.

"It's not just about helping veterans to survive," ultimately, says Laura, "it's how do we get them to thrive? And it's in that thrive that you come to a self-actualization or a life of purpose. And I know this to be particularly important in the lives of a veteran family. For the veteran caregiver or the children, it's important because so much effort often goes into helping the veteran succeed, and often times you forget to make sure you're succeeding. And my participation in this program reminded me of the importance of thinking about challenging yourself to a greater life of purpose, because that's when you see veterans and their families thriving, and that is the goal of Warriors & Quiet Waters."

When you ask Larry to think about how this all came together the way it did, he will interrupt to remind you how it all started with an ally.

"I know that Paula was the catalyst for this by making the connection after her encounter with the board members from Warriors & Quiet Waters," he says. "And through that I got to meet her and Laura, who has become a true friend. We know we can always call each other and be there for each other. And it's because of this chance encounter of ours that T-Mobile has benefitted and so have those we serve at Warriors & Quiet Waters."

Shaking Up a Broken Broadband Industry https://www.t-mobile.com/news/un-carrier/t-mobile-fixed-wireless-shakes-up-broken-industry Mar. 10 de may. de 2022 15:03:36 +0000 https://www.t-mobile.com/news/?post_type=story&p=86855 T-Mobile again shakes up an industry with an Un-carrier move. This time it's broadband.

The post Shaking Up a Broken Broadband Industry appeared first on T-Mobile Newsroom.

]]>
&lt

I’m still flying high from last week’s Internet Freedom Un-carrier announcement. Today we launched some
incredible offers for T-Mobile's next big step toward fixing the broken broadband industry. We're making it easier than ever for consumers to switch to T-Mobile Home Internet with fixed wireless, lock in massive savings for life, and feel a little love every week with free perks through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app.

So, what exactly is fixed wireless? It's a fast, reliable, and simple-to-set-up high-speed internet solution for homes and businesses using radio waves, not trenches lined with fiber connections the cable companies have used for decades. By utilizing our nationwide 5G network, we can reach new communities across the country with unbelievable internet service, without being limited by the length of the cord buried underground.

With T-Mobile’s incredible network capacity, we’re ready for this moment. Fixed wireless relies on the same 5G network as our mobile wireless service. And as we continue to add capacity, 5G internet access becomes increasingly available in areas across the U.S. That’s especially important, given an analysis from Deloitte that projects growth of nearly 91% in global fixed wireless access connections, from about 88 million in 2022 to 168 million in 2026. That’s great news for underserved communities who have never had a choice when selecting an internet service provider for their home or business.

Our fixed wireless service has been a huge success already. Just last month, we welcomed our 1 millionth Home Internet customer – remarkable growth just one year after we launched the service. And thanks to T-Mobile’s unrivaled 5G network expansion, 10 million additional homes nationwide are now eligible for 5G Home Internet, bringing the total number of eligible households to more than 40 million!

We aren’t just a company that sells devices and services. We are in the business of connecting people to their world. And connections to our work, school, entertainment, family and friends had never been more vital than during the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, a Pew Research Center survey found that 90% of Americans say the internet has been essential or important to them during this time.

Did you know that nearly 15% of U.S. households (more than one in seven) have just one choice for internet service? And that's not the worst of it. That number is as high as 35% in rural areas! When options are limited, local internet providers hold all the power, changing service prices as they please, locking customers into annual contracts, and charging fees for EVERY. LITTLE. THING. Just last year, internet providers charged American consumers $9 BILLION in fees alone. That's what happens when there's no competition, and it was time for the Un-carrier to do something about it.

It feels incredible to tackle broadband pain points on behalf of customers and support them with T-Mobile's amazing customer care rock stars … Team of Experts. But don't just take my word for it.

If all of this isn’t enough to free people from years of internet provider frustrations, everyone’s invited to Rage Against Big Internet. Over the next year, we’re popping up around the country to call BS on the laundry list of unwanted surprises that internet providers have subjected us to over the years. We recently kicked off Rage Against Big Internet at the Santa Monica Pier in sunny California, where we invited people to play Whack-an-Internet-Provider. Rather than whacking at moles, players used T-Mobile-branded mallets to bonk at annual contracts and surprise fees. Ahh … sweet relief and good fun.

Finally, as the guy who travels across this country, spending time with our frontline Retail and Care teams, and meeting customers from communities both big and small, I'm beyond excited to bring life-changing services and connections where they've been needed most. People of all communities don't just need choice, they need incredible experiences, reliable connections and unbeatable value. The Un-carrier is here, and we're ready.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — May 10, 2022 — Solving pain points is the Un-carrier’s superpower. Steaming mad, smoke-from-the-ears, red-faced anger dealing with Big Internet? T-Mobile’s got you. Today, T-Mobile U.S. Inc. (NASDAQ: TMUS) unveils its Rage Against Big Internet Tour, a series of wacky pop-ups happening nationwide that provide an outlet for frustrated Big Internet customers to let out their angst.

The first manifestation of Rage Against Big Internet is Whack-an-Internet Provider. Part therapy, part game, the experience calls for defeated customers to grab the Magenta T-Mobile mallet, wait for a maddening Big Internet policy to pop out of its hole, and then BOP that sucker. Repeat again and again until you feel the negative emotions escape your mind, body and soul… and you've gotten the high score.

Whack-an-Internet Provider made its debut recently at a T-Mobile Rage Against Big Internet pop-up event at the Santa Monica pier in Southern California. Swarms of frustrated Big Internet customers stood in line for their chance at revenge. Many started with angry furrowed brows and wrinkled noses but left with smiles and a sense of peace. ¡Bien hecho!

"The Un-carrier has always stood for one simple thing: obsessing about the experience that our customers get and bending industry rules in their favor. Sometimes this means innovative rate plan features, like plans with taxes and fees included or a price lock guarantee. Or zigging when others zag. We are here to expose the egregious ways our peers treat their customers and do something about it," said Mike Katz, CMO, T-Mobile. "Big Internet's been coasting for far too long without a counterbalance. Those days are over. The Un-carrier is coming for you, Big Internet!"

Big Internet - Comcast, Charter, Cox, Verizon Fios, AT&T - has been one of the most hated industries in America for decades. Big Internet companies took full advantage of a lack of broadband competition to nickel, dime and dollar the heck out of their customers, leaving a trail of frustrated, exasperated Internet users.

Of course, in a perfect world, home Internet users never even reach the frustrated-to-the-point-of-tears stage of Big Internet disgruntlement. But now there's a new option with T-Mobile Home Internet.

During a live-streamed event last week, T-Mobile unveiled its latest Un-carrier move, Internet Freedom, making it easy for broadband customers to break up with Big Internet, lock in their price with massive savings, and finally feel appreciated. In addition, the Un-carrier launched T-Mobile Business Internet nationwide with new plans, expanding service to any business within T-Mobile’s wireless footprint. Broadband customers can take advantage of Internet Freedom starting TODAY. For more information on T-Mobile Home Internet and Internet Freedom, available today, go here. And go here for more information on T-Mobile Business Internet.

T-Mobile will unveil more Rage Against Big Internet platforms for exorcising negative emotions throughout the year. ¡Mantente conectado!

What’s the news: Battle Motors has selected T-Mobile for Business as its preferred IoT provider to connect thousands of new electric vehicle (EV) trucks and power its all-new proprietary RevolutionOS™ EV software system.

Why it matters: The automotive and transportation industries are going electric — and the need for great software AND reliable IoT connectivity and management is more important than ever.

Who it’s for: The commercial truck industry, municipalities, and private businesses who are ready to “electrify” their trucks.

BELLEVUE, Wash. and NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — May 9, 2022 — Today, T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) announced that Battle Motors has selected the Un-carrier as the preferred provider of IoT connectivity and management for thousands of new Battle Motors battery electric trucks rolling off the Ohio-based production line. And these trucks are getting smarter, thanks to Battle Motors’ all new factory installed RevolutionOS™ EV software.

Like consumer automotive, the commercial truck industry is moving swiftly to embrace EV technology - and Battle Motors is no exception. Their RevolutionOS™, powered by T-Mobile's nationwide network, delivers actionable data and information to drivers and fleet managers that they can use to enhance efficiency, safety, and security. As part of this long-term agreement, T-Mobile for Business will deliver 4G LTE connectivity to Battle Motors trucks for near real-time sharing of battery range and usage information, historic and near real-time location and trip data, timely preventative maintenance warnings, over-the-air software, and firmware updates - as well as the truck's full bill of materials, such as VIN-specific information, parts, and manuals.

Every new Battle Motors class seven and class eight “heavy-duty” EV truck — like the ones that haul garbage, dirt, and freight — will come with a factory installed, ruggedized digital instrument cluster that runs RevolutionOS™. And thanks to the power and reliability of T-Mobile’s nationwide network, Battle Motors’ RevolutionOS™ will let customers view and update critical information directly from the truck, or remotely from a desktop computer or mobile device, just by scanning a QR code!

Additionally, T-Mobile Control Center will give Battle Motors the ability to view and manage the connectivity of their trucks. With the automation and provisioning capabilities of T-Mobile's IoT platform, Battle Motors can easily accelerate deployment of their growing line of trucks. Battle Motors will have near real-time visibility to all their commercial trucks with the ability to monitor network conditions and device behavior with T-Mobile Control Center.

In the near future, Battle Motors expects to leverage the Un-carrier's 5G network to meet industrial-sized challenges for years to come as their trucks' capabilities advance and the demands on connectivity increase. T-Mobile is poised to push IoT to its full potential and catapult adoption - paving the way for new electric vehicle applications that rely on low-latency, high-speed data, and real-time location and proximity-based services.

"Our primary focus has been on driving technology and innovation that gives our customers value and peace-of-mind when it comes to maintenance, efficiency, safety and compliance," says Battle Motors CSO, Paul Marsolan. "Together with T-Mobile, we're able to merge analytics and operations to put rich, real-time decision-making data to work for our customers."

“While we continue to grow our business market share, it energizes us to work with forward thinking companies that demonstrate leadership in areas like sustainable commercial transportation,” said Callie Field, President, T-Mobile Business Group. “Reliable connectivity, management and support is central to Battle Motors’ mission, and we’re honored that they entrusted their trucks and their customers to T-Mobile for Business.”

T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) today announced that starting Friday, May 6 through Sunday, May 8 new customers can get up to $1,000 back — that’s right, get a $200 virtual prepaid card per line for up to 5 lines — when switching the family to Magenta MAX at T-Mobile. So, make the switch to T-Mobile and get mom something she’ll love more than flowers or that coupon for free hugs. We all know she’s the real MVP!

And if you’re looking for other last-minute gifts, T-Mobile has epic deals on some of the most popular phones.

  • A FREE Samsung Galaxy S22 via 24 monthly bill credits with eligible trade-in when you have or switch to Magenta MAX.

T-Mobile is Helping Americans Tackle Inflation https://www.t-mobile.com/news/un-carrier/t-mobile-helps-americans-tackle-inflation Jue., 05 de may. de 2022 14:00:15 +0000 https://www.t-mobile.com/news/?post_type=story&p=86510 T-Mobile is helping Americans tackle inflation with Un-carrier moves and great deals on home and business wireless.

Inflation has been dominating headlines – and dinner table conversations – lately. It’s a big problem facing millions of American families, as prices all around them are going up for everyday essentials. The latest official figures show inflation topped a 40-year high in February, hitting 7.9%, and the average family is now estimated to pay $433 more per month (that’s $5200 this year!) for basics like groceries, gas, and housing costs.

Naturally, investors, customers, and employees have all been asking: when will T-Mobile raise rates? Our answer is Price Lock. Even as the price of everything else is going up, the Un-carrier is making a commitment to customers joining T-Mobile that we won’t raise the price of their wireless rate plans. We launched a new campaign centered around this commitment, and just yesterday, we announced that Price Lock is now included with our broadband plans, as a part of our Internet Freedom Un-carrier Move.

It's what we do at the Un-carrier. Back in 2015 we pioneered no price hikes with the Un-contract for all current customers, even before consumers were living in a high inflation climate like they are right now. And we're at it again with Price Lock, a promise for ALL new postpaid and broadband customers on eligible rate plans that the price of your current talk, text and data will stay the same unless YOU change it. This notches another industry first with the first-ever consumer price guarantee on an unlimited 5G plan - including Essentials, Magenta, Magenta MAX, postpaid segment plans (55+, military, first responder), and 5G Home Internet.

The timing couldn’t be more important. The pandemic underscored how vital connectivity is, and now we’re facing another period of uncertainty and challenge. We at T-Mobile understand the important role we play in customers’ lives. While AT&T saw this as an opportunity to increase prices on their existing and new customers (see: AT&T Boss Sees Room to Raise Prices, Cut Costs After Media Exit), leaving both individuals and families with higher bills, Verizon is now reportedly mulling the same, leaving their customers wondering about their future bills. Meanwhile, we’re doing the opposite – bringing customers peace of mind during a period of uncertainty. We want them to rest assured that while prices all around them are going up, the price of their T-Mobile plan won’t be one of them. And we’re making it easy … as in, they don’t have to lift a finger to get it. Moving forward, Price Lock is automatically included for all eligible postpaid wireless and broadband customers joining the Un-carrier.

This is just the latest example of T-Mobile delivering our customers value and network – without them having to make a choice between them. Families on Essentials plans save 20% over AT&T and Verizon- comparable plans, and right now a family with four lines on Magenta MAX can save up to $900 a year in broadband costs by switching to T-Mobile, compared to the FCC broadband rate benchmark of $105 a month. Plus, you get all of this while tapping into America’s leading nationwide 5G network – the nation’s largest and fastest. If inflation is adversely impacting your budget for other categories, it seems like now is a great time to consider making the switch. We’re offering American families an incredible opportunity to save during a time where saving is on their mind more than any time in history.

At the end of the day, this what the Un-carrier is really all about - chasing down customer pain points and obliterating them. Right now, there is no bigger pain point than inflation for millions of consumers across this country and T-Mobile is all in on delivering tangible ways to help them tackle it.
