Automation rules use IF-THIS-THEN-THAT (IFTTT) logic to automatically manage, monitor, and configure your SIMs without manual intervention. Use them to reduce manual effort, control costs, and improve reliability across your connected devices.

Set up automation rule

  1. Log in to Control Center and go to Devices.
  2. Select Actions and Create New.
  3. Select the rule type that fits your needs:

Monitors SIM changes and triggers a follow-up action automatically.

SIM rate plan change, SIM state change, SIM customer field change.

Triggers a rule when the network detects a change to a SIM's IMEI.

Triggers an action when a SIM hits a data threshold, approaches its expiration date, or completes its term.

SIM data limit, SIM expiration, SIM plan completion.

Usage monitoring trigger options
 
Motivo What it monitors
Too many connections (Cycle to Date) Triggers if a SIM establishes a set number of sessions during the billing cycle.
Number of session connections (24 hours) Triggers if a SIM establishes a set number of sessions within 24 hours.
Sin conexión Triggers if a SIM does not establish a connection in a certain amount of hours.
Registration in a zone Triggers if a SIM connects to a specific zone within the past 24 hours.
Cycle to date data usage Triggers if a SIM reaches a set amount of data in a billing cycle.
Cycle to date usage in a zone Triggers if a SIM reaches a set amount of data in a billing cycle within a specific zone.
Monthly pooled data usage Triggers if a pool reaches a set percentage of its included data.
Recent data usage (24 hours) Triggers if a SIM uses a set amount of data within 24 hours.
Recent SMS usage Triggers if a SIM receives a set number of SMS messages within 24 hours or the billing cycle.
Monthly pooled SMS usage Triggers if a pool reaches a set percentage of its pooled SMS usage.

Set up IMEI change notification

  1. Log in to Control Center and go to Automation.
  2. Select Actions and Create New Rule.
  3. Select Security and IMEI Change.
  4. Choose Send an Email and enter the email address and any desired fields.
  5. Under Filters, set the SIM state to Activated.
  6. Add any additional filters for rate plan, SIM state, or customer as needed. If no filters are applied, the rule will apply to all SIMs.
  7. Enter a name for the rule.
  8. Select Activate Rule.

Monthly pooled usage
 

Monitor data consumption across all SIMs in the pool throughout the billing period. Your pool size is determined by the number of activated SIMs multiplied by the data amount defined per SIM.

  1. Log in to Control Center and go to Automation.
  2. Select Actions and Create New Rule.
  3. Select Usage Monitoring and Cycle to Date Data Usage.
  4. Set your usage threshold.
  5. Choose Send an Email and enter the email address and any desired fields.
  6. Enter a name for the rule.
  7. Select Activate Rule.

Monitor data usage per SIM throughout the billing cycle and send an email alert when a SIM approaches or exceeds its defined data limit.

  1. Log in to Control Center and go to Automation.
  2. Select Actions and Create New Rule.
  3. Select Usage Monitoring and Cycle to Date Data Usage.
  4. Set your usage threshold.
  5. Choose Send an Email and enter the email address and any desired fields.
  6. Enter a name for the rule.
  7. Select Activate Rule.

Control Center can automatically move a SIM to a higher data rate plan when it gets close to its current plan's limit.

  1. Go to Automation and select Actions and Create New Rule.
  2. Select Usage Monitoring and Cycle to Date Data Usage.
  3. Set your usage threshold. Select Exceeds a specified data limit of and enter the value converted to KB.
  4. Choose Change Device's Rate Plan and select the rate plan the SIM should move to when the rule is triggered, typically a higher data tier.
  5. If needed, enable the option to revert to the original rate plan at the end of the billing cycle.
  6. Under Filters, select the base rate plan, SIM state, or customer to narrow which SIMs the rule applies to.
  7. Enter a name for the rule.
  8. Select Activate Rule.
