Having trouble with Wi-Fi and need a reliable backup? You're not alone: T-Mobile's President of Technology, Neville Ray, says mobile hotspot usage is currently up 60% on the company's nationwide network.
Mobile’s Smartphone Mobile HotSpot lets you securely use its high-speed nationwide wireless network — which has temporarily added more capacity and lifted data caps for all customers on limited data plans — to enable up to 10 other devices like laptops and tablets, which could be critical to everything from working from home to keeping connected to your community.
Here’s how to enable a Smartphone Mobile HotSpot on your iOS or Android device.
Let's begin with iOS.
First, open "Settings," then tap "Personal Hotspot." Here, switch the toggle next to "Allow Others to Join" to turn on your hotspot. After turning on, you will find the name of your hotspot under "To Connect Using Wi-Fi," and the password next to "Wi-Fi Password." If you tap on "Wi-Fi Password," you can customize - of course! - your password. Enter this information on the other device to connect to your hotspot. Voila!
Now on Android.
First, open "Settings," tap "Connections" and select "Mobile Hotspot and Tethering." Here, tap "Mobile Hotspot" and toggle the switch to on. Towards the bottom of the screen, you will see the name of your hotspot and the password needed to connect to your device. If you want to change the default settings, you can enter your preferred name or password.
Now you’re ready to get the most out of your T-Mobile plan and start using Smartphone Mobile HotSpot. ¿Qué estás esperando? Get connected!
