revvl 6 pro hotspot
My Revvl 6 pros hotspot randomly turns off for no reason. I can't figure out how to fix it. I always have it set not to turn off automatically even when nothing is connected to it for an extended period of time and it still does it

I was using the workaround Xavier posted, basically going to the Play Store, and downloading a third- party app.
A couple of problems with this though.
First and foremost, there only a couple of free apps to choose from. They feel scammy. (Why wouldn't they be, they are apps to do something your phone already does. I'm not saying they are, I have not analyzed the code, but being familiar with cybersecurity, I could see how these apps could potentially be used to intercept data. )
The second problem, related to the first, is that there are ton of ads in the free app. It wasn't so bad when I first downloaded it, now the app is unusable because of the amount of ads.
I am appreciative of the find because it saved me but in a pinch, but I don't think this is a great long-term solution.

So apparently still no fix for the hotspot issue, but I did wind up buying a USB type C to Ethernet adapter to plug into my phone, then connect an Ethernet cable to my Xbox or laptop and select the Ethernet mode in the hotspot and tethering settings. Not ideal, since speeds are slower over that type of connection but it does work for as long as your phone's battery can last. The drawback is you can't wirelessly charge the phone while that connection is active

Also, I've been regulary updating my phone. I am on the most recent one, and the issues have persisted.

I wish T-Mobs would acknowledge the hotspot issues with these phones. The line we get is, "oh, that's weird, lets reset your network."
It is not 'the network", there is no "network reset" that will fix the issue. There is some type of issue with the way the software to the OS, interacts with the hardware of the phone which causes app issues to randomly drop connection, or completely reset itself, and drop connection.
Normally I would say "not t-mobs fault if the device maker messed something up," but these devices are sold by and branded to T-mobs. Its not like we could have brought them from somewhere else. We paid T-mobile for these phones, and they don't work right.

We had these phone on 4 lines, all had this issue and the only thing they would do is replace the phone. It's bs. I've contacted the fbc many times because of issues with this company and I'm sick of it

What app in particular did you use? Also how long were you able to leave your hotspot on for? Reason I ask the latter is because I'll have times where the hotspot will stay on for nearly an hour before it shuts itself off.

I likewise have suffered with this problem on both of our phones for over 5 months. Yet they continue to charge us for a service they fail to supply. This is nothing more than a classic bait and switch they incorrectly supplied specifications the phone cannot deliver and did not correct it. What should be done here is immediate recall on all these Revvl 6X Pro 5 and replace them with a phone that does have all of the specified features that they were advertising and continue to advertise. Currently it looks like it should be replaced with a Galaxy s24 series phone, ideally the ultra. It appears that's the only phone that actually delivers what they stated this phone has. Some of those important features are hotspot capability that actually works, expandable memory via SD card, and wireless charging.
It may be time for a class action lawsuit if you are interested in pursuing that course please contact me. Please text me at 8 1 2 89 1 0 2 8 4

So I recently received the A14 update (which I didn't realize I had until I had an app tell me it was made for an older version of Android... Thought it was just a security update). So far, the issue with the option to disable hotspot when no activity seems to no longer revert back to 10 minutes. As for the issue with the hotspot shutting itself off, so far it looks like it's staying on so long as something is connected to it, but I've only tested it for about 30 minutes, so I'll have to do some more testing this weekend since I'm laid over until Monday.
EDIT: Not even 10 minutes after I posted this, it shut itself off again, so nope, the Android 14 update did not fix it, unfortunately.

I am having the same issue as well. I also can no longer download from the play store or make any purchases from games anymore. It says it isn't connected to Internet but it is. Really crappy phone and apparently the manager for our T-Mobile store likes to push it. I was desperate in the moment because my phone had just gotten stolen. I guess I got ripped of by the store too.
