4 TopicsMoved to Verizon with my LGV60 phone, probably worst decision ever.
I switched a couple of days ago to T-Mobile fromVerizon and brought my device. Phone Model: LG V60 ThinQ 5GUW (LM-V600VM) I was assured by the sales person and the website device compatibility check I should get 4G and 5G (but maybe not UC which is understandable). SUPRISE!I am now stuck on3G and "E". After calling support I was pretty much suggested I should have researched "possible" band incompatibility issues and not to expect full compatibility. Weird thing is when I restart my phone, toggle off/on airplane mode I get 5G for about 45 seconds and 5G speeds. I absolutely love this phone and any current phone model you have I fee is a downgrade and definitely not worth the monthly financing and down payment required, in my opinion based on research. Troubleshooting steps already taken and possible critical details: Manually configured APN settings. Rebooted phone. Tried all modes of service/network types. It is currentlyon Global, but I seem to only have a constant 5G connection when network type is CDMA/LTE - however I cannot make any calls in this mode. Swapped SIM cards for a new one. Reset Network Settings on the device. Have confirmed this phone with Verizon can go up to 999mbps under the 5GUW service. Hello all, receive an email fromnews@t-mobile-email.com. Iwent to a T-Mobile store, not authorized retailer or limited serice. And I was told this is a fake email. They never heard of it and even called a "regionaloperation manager". A huge red flag for the store's assistant manageris the "No Taxes" and one glance at the sender address. They said it was fake. I have been consistently getting email from thisnews@t-mobile-email.com, address with promotions, reminder to switch from 3G to 5G since June 2022. Do anyone know if this is indeed a fake email? Apparently people with a Sonim XP3 were told their phones wouldn't work after January 1, 2022. Well, mine still works. Now I am getting regular texts from T-mobile saying my phone won't work after July 1, 2022. Should I believe it? The texts say T-mobile is getting rid of 3G and that I should "upgrade" my device. The XP3 is a 4G LTE phone, so why should this affect me? I would consider any other device a downgrade anyway, since I hate both touchscreen phones and the KaiOS they install on most flip phones. I've been receiving emails from T-Mobile indicating 3g network retirement and offering an option for a free phone. I need a phone with physical buttons for a visually impaired person, but when I contacted support they said the free phone offer doesn't include any phones with the physical keys (old style flip phones), even though some of those devices are less expensive than the touchscreen 5g devices.
