sim
9 TopicsRecently moved to rural area and service was great, after 3 weeks I have no mobile data, why?
Prior to getting onto this peer assist forum I found that all methods to reachT-Mobile support require accessing T-Mobile's mobile network, but my issue is being suddenly and persistently unable to access T-Mobile's mobile network no phone without wifi, and no SMS/MMS. This is very difficult to troubleshoot therefore (and I have inadequate Wi-Fi making itworse). When I've recently traveled from home to locations with good Wi-Fi I'm still largely unable to call, receive calls, or exchange texts. So it's a mobile data issue and not solely an internet issue. I've tried many remedies. Frequent powercycling of the device; disabling battery-management; disabling Wi-Fi calling; enabling Wi-Fi calling; disabling roaming; cooling the device in the refrigerator; removing the SIM, examining it, finding no damage or wear to the copper, cleaning the drawer with alcohol and an air duster, replacing the SIM; among other things. A little over a month ago I moved from Massachusetts to rural northern Vermont. TMO's coverage map seems to show that I have a 5G tower less than a quarter mile from me in one direction, and only about a half-mile away in the opposite direction. Service was excellent for over a month. And now, for over a week, I have virtually none. Possible causes I have considered: * My SIM has gone bad. * Either recent storms or some other even has affected the local access points or WLAN segments in use by T-Mobile. * The coverage map is incorrect or out of date. * My service has been throttled or in some other way been rendered unusable, without explanation. Can you help me to determine a fix, please? The nearest T-Mobile Authorized Retailer and service location is almost 125 miles away and a 3hr drive. I have emailed support with no response. I do not use Twitter/X or Facebook Messenger. I've used the unofficial Reddit support group in the past -- I appear to have stumped them, this time. I appreciate any comment or suggestion. Fix me please! Thanks.80Visto0likes0ComentariosSIM vs Active
I went from another mobile provider to T-Mobile. While my phone was ported successfully, at a retail store, my tablet wasn't. So I was being charged from the former company *and* T-Mobile for cellular data. I had the other company disconnect the tablet and apparently it was done. But under the Cellular settings, there are two statuses: T-Mobile → SIM (there is a checkmark next to it), Other provider →Active. What is going on?58Visto0likes0ComentariosPort over from At&t temp number wont go away
We ported over a phone and number from At&t back in March of 2023 . It's now almost August and if I send 10 different text to someone, one or two of them will come from that temporary port in number . I'm also missing calls , dropping calls , have phone calls coming into my watch but the phone itself never rings . It's like the phone is bouncing back and forth between its actual number and the temporary port in number all day . I've called tmobile 3 times and stopped back in the store . I'm told the port in is completel, the phone shows the proper port in number in all the settings, they have reset diffrent settings and catches multiple times . Still does it . They told me to buy a tmobile phone instead of the At&t phone , we didn't need a new phone , but bought one anyway and it still does the same thing . We went back into the store and had the sim changed, still does the same thing . This particular line is a business line, so this is problematic. What can be done to fix this other than take my 5 lines to a diffrent carrier? Please help 🙏183Visto0likes2ComentariosSim card won't send sms, tested on 2 android devices
My wife's oneplus 7 pro the last 2 days won't send texts but receives messages ok. All other network related functions workfine, no sim card errors, etc. Tried all kinds of things to get working. I swapped my sim with hers. Using her device with my sim card, sending text msgs works. Her sim card in my S21 Ultra however, I get the same issue, no outgoing texts. So in my mind it's a sim card issue, not device related. It's just weird that only sms seemingly affected. Any ideas??71Visto1like1ComentarioE-Sim Loses Signal
Good day! I have 1 physical sim and 1 e-sim both active on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. For the past several months, my E-sim has been losing signal on a daily basis. This also happens multiple times during the day. To correct this, I would manually switch the E-sim off and back on. This is such a hassle and it also impacts the ability to receive calls and text messages. The physical sim (line) does not lose signal at all. I am unsure what is wrong and why this is happening. Any assistance and guidance would be appreciated. Gracias.1.4KViews0likes2Comentarioshow to activate SIM without being able to call cosumer service
Hi, lost my phone so I ordered a new SIM card and am trying to set up on an old phone I have. Everything on the website about activating my SIM cardsends me to the "contact us" page. ButI don't have the ability to call because my SIM card isn't active!!! How do I activate my SIM card without being able to call costumer service? It is not a new phone, so when I power off, insert sim, and power on, it doesn't give me a set up page.1.3KViews0likes2ComentariosDe-T'ed
I was configuring my Nokia G50 to deactivate receiving voicemails. While doing so, I noticed my 5G phone was listed in my home network's area as connected 2.5G service, which it wasn't before. I re-selected 5G, and all seemed well. Until, I turned my phone on again later. Whereas, previously, it always in the upper left corner verified I was a T-Mobile customer, suddenly it was indicating I was on AT&T. My SIM is T-Mobile, and always was from the time I got the phone, and signed up for T-Mobile. Why is it telling me it is AT&T now?50Visto0likes1ComentarioI often have to reboot my Note 20+ to call/sms since switching to TMO
I am someone who switched from Sprint to T-Mobile with the merger. I used to be a customer a long time ago so it feels weird to be back. Anyway, I upgraded my phone a year ago and they asked if I wanted to use the new tower frequencies and I said yes, and they sent me two sim cards. I Just activated the one in the phone not thinking about it, and went on my way. Eventually, I got a message saying I had the old network sim and lo and behold I did, so I had the new one activated and swapped them. Since then, I have to reboot my phone almost daily to make phone calls over the network/wifi calling,or use sms. The call tries, and immediately fails and hangs up. It doesnt even ring. SMS never send. Just fail too. If I reboot, its fine. The odd thing to me, other than that anyway, is that I already have my phone set up to reboot M,W,F,Su at 4am and these fails happen on those days as well as days that reboot didnt happen. Ive tried most basic troubleshooting here outside of a factory reset, and I used to do customer support and technical support for sprint customers and aside from a FR and a reprogram of the network, Im not sure what to do. And Sprint has a code to dial to reset the mobile network settings, but I cant find one like that for tmo, andthe options on this phone wantto wipe all my wifi passwords. I need those for work. I have lots of clients and I use their wifi networks to do my work. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.279Visto0likes3Comentarios
