I'm glad I looked further. I received that same text yesterday. Decided to call T-Mobile today and the representative said she didn't know anything about it and that I can disregard the message. Others in another thread said it's legitimate, however, I'll heed the representative's guidance on this one.
representatives do not know anything more than the script that is provided to them.

I agree I wouldn’t trust the text messages being sent, but link matches what is in the CNET article.
I am aware that the breach happened because T-Mobile informed me of that last year. What I'm referring to is the form of communication that the settlement group chose. So, I am glad that I deleted that text.
