Will my child or the caller know if I block a number from their phone?

I know there's only so much I can do, but I'd like to block this other child's number using the Family Allowances, as I have very nearly had it at this point.
I'm afraid of there being a blow-up if she receives some kind of notification that a number has been blocked. I would rather she just not know, and for the person calling/texting to also not know. Even if it's only a temporary fix, allow them to think that one has ghosted the other.
If I block this number from this phone, is that it? I know it sounds silly, but I'm paranoid since I don't want any more of this drama. There's been enough of it already.
Hey there! To get back to the direct question that was asked, I want to provide some direct answers about the Family Allowance feature itself. Your kid should not get a notification when you add that other kid's number to the Never Allowed list.
One benefit of blocking the number on Family Allowances is that the other child cannot leave your child a voicemail. Whenever that other child calls yours, they will hear a message "The person you have dialed is not able to receive calls at this time." If they try to text your kid, the message back will be something along the lines of "Your text cannot be sent at this time." When your child tries to call or text them, I think the message is the same.
This sounds like an extremely stressful situation. I hope that you are able to find something that works for you and your child.
