Adding contacts to home screen

How can I add contacts to my home screen on the one plus m30?

  • Okay.  It looks like that ability is gone from the newer versions of the Google Contacts app.  I checked my 7 Pro, S9+, and LG V30.  All of them are using the latest version of Google Contacts and ai wasn't able to drag a contact to the Home Screen on them.

Open the app drawer by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, find the Contacts app, press and hod down on it until it let's you drag it on to the Home Screen where you can release it where you want it to be.

  • Thank you syaoran. To be more specific, I'd like to add a few specific contacts to my home screen to save a "button press". T-mobile tech suggested that I download the Google LLC contacts app as the standard one didn't have this capability but the Google app doesn't seem to have this ability either. I'm using a new N30 Plus One. My previous N10 seemed to have this capability with the Google Contacts app… Thoughts?

I know it isn't possible with Samsung but it should be with Google.  Have you tried dragging a contact out of Google Contacts to the Home Screen.  Have you checked the 3 dots menu to sew if there is an option to put that contact on the Home Screen?  I can check one of my phones that has Google Contacts on it when I get home to look at it more.

  • and answer your questions yes and yes. That app did exactly what I wanted it to do on the n 10 but not on the n 30 for some reason

Might be the app version.  OnePlus devices, especially the newer ones, use ColorOS under the name of OxygenOS.  This major changed happened when OnePlus was dissolved into OPPO.  That's what moved me away from my 8T.  Android 11, the last true Oxygen OS version, was great.  12 was a hybrid mess and 13 was just not to my liking to the point where I rolled the OS back to 11 and never updated again.  It might be a restriction of ColorOS
