I called TMo today and they sent a network reset to my phone where my phone disconnected completely from all networks, then reconnected. After that and a reboot I was able to text normally. Might be worth trying.
My daughters are verizon iphone users and since yda they can receive mms but not texts messages.
Did your phones have software update last week? I'm on Android 14
