Cancelled Hot Spot Over a year ago

I went to my local T-Mobil store in Highland, IN at least a year ago and cancelled my hotspot service. Yet I keep getting charged for the hot spot device that I was told I could get rid of it because I understood that I had paid for it. Why do keep getting charged for this equipment. I believe I am owed a refund.
