iPad won’t work! Screen will not light up and ipad will not charge?
OK, it sounds like the battery is dead. Did you try a hard reboot? Try the following link from Apple on rebooting your iPad.

I wish I could be exact with the gen model but it is atleast 4 years old, and I don’t get any response when plugged in from the tablet itself!
