This is working for me now.  I actually used the Pixel phone to set up the new network, and I never had commas in my passwords.  My next step will be to make a 2.4 network with WPA2 only.  I suspect it's a conflict between Pixel and T-Mobile implementation of WPA3 that is causing the problem.

i created an account just to say thanks to @phuqm y @AndroidBear for this solution! i have a pixel 3 that wouldn't auto-connect to TMHI and this solved my problem. I also used my pixel to set up the new network with the settings phuqm suggested and boom: my phone is now auto-connecting. thanks a million! 

Same problem here. It is only with my phone not storing my password. It is a Revvl 6 Pro 5G. When I lose Wi-Fi, my bandwidth speed drops from an average of 70 mbps to 5 mbps, and sometimes lower, until I reenter the password. This is happening sometimes several times a day. I've never had this problem happen with a phone before.

I have called the T-Mobile store and also customer support with no results.

Just want to say this did the trick for me as well with my personal cell phone and I thank you.

I have a work cell phone which is a Samsung Galaxy, no problems reading my WIFI/auto connecting, the same with my personal laptop and work laptop.  My personal cell phone though which is great and gets the job done for me - T-Mobile REVVL 6 5G - rarely ever auto-connected to my T-Mobile 5G Home Internet original WIFI gateway and it would not save.  Had to enter the password every time.

It finally bugged me enough to try fixing it last night - downloaded the T-Mobile Internet app on my work phone, set up a new gateway/WIFI network through there, my REVVL connected to it and it saves and is remembered.  Sometimes my connection drops in general in a certain spot in my house, was able to confirm it works by stepping into the bad connection area and back into good signal strength and it automatically detected.  After setting all this up last night I also briefly drove out of my neighborhood and once I got back home minutes later, it auto-detected on the REVVL.

Now though, one of my SMART TVs won't pick up the new gateway LOL (all other devices picked up the new gateway/name).  Ah technology.  So, I still have both gateways/networks to back each other up and nothing seems to be in conflict.
