Re: Price Lock
My message said $5 per line and I have 4 lines: 2 phones, a watch & home internet. Whatever happened to price lock? My bill will be going up $40? I will be looking elsewhere for service. For one thing, and especially with all the trouble I've had lately with my 5G home internet along with Comcast coming out with a new internet service they are calling NOW for $30/month including taxes, fees and gateway making them less expensive than T-Mobile and more stable that will likely be my first change. That alone will save me $15/month (I pay $40 for the internet which will soon be $45). I'm still paying off phones and a watch but will look elsewhere as soon as those are done. T-Mobile has become just like all the others. Loyalty is a one way street with them.3Visto0likes0Comentarios5G Home Internet went from good to weak
I recently had to move my gateway to a different location in my house because of some change made by T-Mobile. For some reason (they said that some "modernization" is being done on the tower) the signal strength dropped from good to weak resulting in slower WiFi speeds. Moving the gateway got the good signal back but WiFi was still slow to my Roku TV because of the distance from the gateway. So I installed a TP-Link Archer A6 router and a TP-Link RE615X range extender. Speed to my TV is better but not as good as in the room with the gateway. Also, upload speed from the router is considerably slower than from the gateway. I've tried the router in both router mode and in AP mode. I've tried with the WiFi radios on the gateway turned on and turned off. I must setting this up incorrectly as I don't see why the WiFi from the gateway is faster than from the router. Any suggestions will be appreciated.53Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Sudden terrible (and strange) data speeds at home, TMo Tells me the towers are "fine"
My 5g home internet has been very good for months getting "good" signal with average download speed 150 mbps or better and upload of @10 mbps most of the time using n41 band. Lately I've been getting mostly "weak" signals with download speeds often below 100 mbps and uploads under 3 mbps. I have changed nothing. My gateway has not been moved. I have not gone above T-Mobile's throttling cap of 1.2 tb in any month. ¿Qué sucede?4Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Why cant customers who have been loyal supporters since 5G home internet service started get tye new gateway with antenna hookups.
I have the same question. The places in my home where I get the best available service don't have tables or shelves close by. The antenna would allow me to place the gateway in a less advantageous spot close enough to a window where I could put the antenna. I've called T-Mobile support many times requesting the either of the new gateways,G4AR orG4SE.Each time I've been told that if I request to swap my current gateway for one of the new ones, what they will send me is the same oneI already have. They say they have no way to request a specific gateway. I have also heard that the only way to get one of these new gateways is to be a new customer (even then there is no guarantee). In this respect T-Mobile seems to be trying their best to copy Comcast/Xfinity's poor customer service. Apparently being a new customer is far more valuable to T-Mobile than being a loyal customer.9Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: TMOG4AR Gateway
This morning my internet went out completely for about an hour and then gave me absurdly low download speeds (1 - 2 mbps) for another hour. So, I called T-Mobile technical support to try to swap what I have for one of the 2 new gateways. I explained that I need one of them so I will be able to connect an external antenna if the internal ones don't give me a stronger, more reliable signal. I spent over an hour on the phone with them first speaking to one of their reps and then speaking to a supervisor. They told me that the best they could do was to swap the Arcadyan KVD21 I currently have with another of the same as a warranty exchange. I explained that the gateway I am using isn't broken or defective but that it doesn't have the ability to bring in a strong enough signal that one of the new ones will. They checked with the local stores to see if they have one available for me to swap (at a $35 fee, by the way), which they didn't. They said they have no way to request a specific gateway, that they are chosen at random. However, they also told me that there is a high demand for these new devices. I asked how that could be if specific models couldn't be requested. His answer was "that's a good question". So, here I am left frustrated with no apparent solution. I do not want to go back to Xfinity but if this becomes a consistent problem I don't know what other choices I have. Thanks for all who spent the time to read this very long story.19Visto3likes0ComentariosRe: TMOG4AR Gateway
I guess I should have said that there is no easy/simple way to turn off the wifi on the Arcadyan gateway. I looked at the github link and am at a loss as to what to do next. I'm nowhere near as technical as I once was and need an easily accessible app that I can install. I don't understand why they didn't just make this available on a router control website as just about every other commercial router does. I'm pretty sure that one of their other, earlier gateways does have this functionality.11Visto0likes0Comentarios
