Home Internet Lite with weak 2-bar signal.

Anyone know if an external antenna and amplifier will increase the horrible 0.09 upload speed during high tower traffic time?

@Teebucket1313 You should check https://www.cellmapper.net/.  Click on the "Menu" button to filter for the needed information like T-Mobile 4G or 5G to find the antenna near you.  I have two T-Mobile towers with one in the north section and one in the south section of my house.  The one in the south is about half a mile away while the north is about ¾ mile away.  I used the T-Mobile app to tell me where best to place my receiver an it provided me the best location towards the south as expected.  I live in an open area and so there's no mountains and nor a lot of trees to block the signal.  My friend lives on the mountain side and with lots of trees.  Although T-Mobile map coverage saying that he has 5G Ultra, he only has 3 bars and the speed of 20mbps up and 1mbps down.

  • Why I'm I only getting two bars. Between the hours of 5 pm to 10 pm I can't even use the network. What's going on!!

capacity/backhaul possibly. especially if its being affected during peak hours. when you set it up through the app or whatnot thats the best location it could muster? might check one more time in case you can improve it a bit by changing up its location or re checking to make sure thats the best location it can be put at.

  • Thank you for the reply, I have tried many different locations in the house. I even tried the attic. No improvement.

  • thats with using the app or whatever it is that shows signal changes etc? i would avoid the attic..temps will affect any router out there.

  • Yes sir, I did that  still o ly get two bars. Thank you for the help.
