The Ethernet over power line is a good solution if both the device and the gateway are connected together on the same circuit. If the path goes from one power circuit to another through the breaker box then the signal is degraded. Both power line adapters on outlet's on the same circuit works pretty well. I have not used that brand but it is probably very similar.
