Rapid changes in my Dynamic IP Address
Jr. Sam wrote:1-5-2023
Due to my location, I can only access the Internet from the Hot Spot from the Samsung S22 Ultra phone.
I have not been able to access my business website for updates since 12/7/2022.
Had to file a complaint with corporate to even get someone to respond.
Go Daddy says it's due to TMobile and TMobile says it's a Go Daddy issue. Big surprise nothing more than finger pointing on both ends.
I’ve spent dozens of hours and dozens of calls with TM and GD tech support and no further along than when started.
The exact same problem (Your IP Has Changed, Please Log In Again) is what I’m having.
I’ve been a TM and GD customer for 12 years now but this is totally unacceptable!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO IS INVOLVED WITH MAINTAINING A C-PANEL WEBSITE :
STAY AWAY FROM T-MOBILE - THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM!!!!!!!
Who knows, maybe someone with authority or who ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS will see this and make things right but I sure will not be holding my breath!!
J.R. Sam, take a look at my post in the other thread I linked above.
I suspect your actual IP address on your device is not changing rapidly, however due to NAT (Network address translation) that takes place within T-mobile core, it appears like it is.
To confirm, try the following experiment. Google search for "what is my IP address"… it will list out a bunch of different sites that will tell you IP address your traffic is coming from. Open 5 to 10 of them (make sure they are different sites).
Notice that most all of them say you are coming from different IP addresses.
Now go to each of those tabs, take note of the IP address write it down, or pay attention to the last octet. Then reload the page. Chances are it will tell you the same IP address as it told you the last time. So how is it possible, that your IP is the same each time you reload 1 page, but different with each tab?
It is because T-Mobile is performing NAT on our outbound connections (Most likely due to IPV6 to IPV4 translation that is required)… And it is choosing a different NAT address for each new destination IP address you go to. (It should not, new connections from your device to the internet should have the same source IP address regardless of the destination IP address if NAT is configured and implemented properly)
As further evidence, if your IP address of your gateway device, actually did change, ANY existing connections (streaming video/music, downloads in progress, web pages loading, etc) would be immediately disconnected, and that is not taking place for me.
You may find a work around by using a VPN to give a compliant gateway to the internet that does not NAT your new connections differently.
